Spring Spinner...

A month or so ago, Paper Crafts Magazine had this card layout in one of it's pulication calls. I had never made one before, so I thought I'd give it a go. This sentiment from Lizzie Anne Designs is perfert for this type of card. It's actually all on one stamp, but I masked parts out & used it twice.

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Lizzie Anne Designs (In the Tree Top & Say it in Script); Cardstock, Pattern Paper, Ink, and Ribbon ~ Papertrey Ink; Nestabilties.

Same Layout ~ Different Look...

The other day I made some thank you notes based on this layout. I actually made this card first, but hadn't posted it yet. It's such a fun yet simple card design. This card features the fun Say it in Script set from Lizzie Anne Designs. I love how different the sentiments are in this grouping!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I'm going to try and stamp and scrapbook a ton this weekend because my husband is out of town & we have nothing on our calendar today!

Don't forget to stop by Michelle's blog this weekend to play for lots of great prizes!

A Class Project...

I have been sitting on these Mexico pictures for almost 3 years now & decided that I just HAVE to do something with them. A few weeks ago, I advertised a new class to my customers using the Summer Days scrapbook kit from Stampin' Up! This kit is so easy to use and there are tons of pieces in it. So here is the cover for my book and one of the inside pages. My customers will leave the class with 14 completed pages in page protectors, decorated front & back covers and bound with rings and ribbon. All they need to do is add pictures when they get home. I'll have more pages to share with you over the next few weeks ~ I don't want to spoil the surprise for them.

By the way, have you been over to Michelle Wooderson's blog today? Today she's hosting a fun scavenger hunt and she's asked me to help her out. If you want to play along and be entered for the prize drawings, check out her blog. There are 13 questions that you have to answer correctly. Mish has selected 13 of her blogging friends, including me, to each post one of the answers to her questions. So if you're playing along, you've come to the right place. Can you find the answer in my post to question #7? Go take a look... Good Luck!

Supplies Used: All Supplies Stampin' Up! ~ Scrapbook Kit (Summer Days); Stamps ~ Big Deal Alphabet; Ribbon ~ Pumpkin Striped Grosgrain; Buttons ~ Bold Bright.

Just a little Thursday Smile...

I love this sentiment because, well... it makes me smile. We all need to smile more & not take everything so seriously. Life is just too short and too dramatic ~ let's just BE HAPPY! Right now, I'm making a job change just so I can BE HAPPY! I'm trying to cut stresses out of my life just so I can BE HAPPY! I guess that is my theme right now...

I hope you have a HAPPY day!

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Lizzie Anne Designs; Cardstock, Ink, Ribbon, ticket corner punch ~ Stampin' Up!; Pattern Paper ~ Pebbles Inc.; Brads ~ Queen & Co; Nestabilities.

Pretty little thank yous...

This morning my husband got up 4am to catch a flight to Washington DC. After he left, do you think I could fall back asleep? NO WAY! So I ended up getting up and stamped for an hour. Fortunately, I realized that I had forgotten to make some thank you notes for work. So this is what I came up with. I am just loving all the inks, papers and ribbons by Nicole Heady over at Papertrey Ink - YUMMY!

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Lizzie Anne Design & Papertrey Ink; Cardstock, Pattern Paper, Ink & Ribbon~ Papertrey Ink; Nestibilities; Flowers ~ Prima; Brads ~ Making Memories.

Easter Tags & Such...

The calendar said it was Easter yesterday, but the weather ~ not so much. It was sunny, so that helped.

This year I did gift bags for the kids & these were the little tags I put on them. I think this set from Stampin' Up! is so cute; unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to use it much. Maybe next year.

I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday with your family and/or friends.

Happy Monday!
ETA: The stamp set for my tags is from Stampin' Up! and it's called A Good Egg. Sorry I didn't include supplies on this ~ I was being lazy!

Happy Everything...

Happy Saturday! I had a wonderful day yesterday stamping with one of my favorite people ~ Love ya MY!!! It was relaxing, productive and delightful ~ just what I needed.

This bright card just makes me totally HAPPY! Funny thing about this card is that I've had this image colored for months and didn't have a card idea for it. I was trying out my new Copic markers (which by the way, Lizzie Anne Stamps are perfect with) and just never had any great ideas for the card ~ so I set it aside. The other day I was going through an idea book and VOILA' ~ I came up with this...

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Lizzie Anne Designs (Funky Floral & Say it with Script); Cardstock ~ Real Red, Only Orange & Yo-Yo Yellow (SU), Papertrey White; Pattern Paper ~ Summer Picnic (SU); Brads ~ Making Memories.

Quiet Time...

This fun little card is dedicated to my sweet friend Lana who needs some serious QUIET TIME! A few years ago when I was going through Chemotherapy, I was fortunate enough to get away for a weekend to the SU Regional event in Wisconsin. Even better, I met my friend Lana for the first time. It was a pretty big trip for me since my body was going through such a huge ordeal. As much as I didn't want to, I had to rest as often as possible because I was exhaused. So Lana would go up to our adjoining room and keep me company. Now every time we get together, we usually take a little break just the two of us & we joke often about it. Love you Lana Sue!!! This card made me think of you!

Sometimes things change! They always seem to change after I get started on a card. As you can see by my prep picture, the card took on a new look as I went through my prep steps.

Here's another new Riley image from Hanna Stamps. Cute little guy for all those golfers in your life.

I tend to shop a lot at online stores that some of my friends own ~ Eclectic Paperie, Ellen Hutson LLC, Starlit Studios, and Scrappin' Deals as well as Lizzie Anne Designs & Hanna Stamps!

Tennis anyone?

New Riley's by Hanna Stamps are back (or will be in the next few days). Here's a little preview of one card creation I put together today. I worked with 6 different images today at the same time, so I decided to take the following steps when putting together my cards: (1) draw out some sketches; (2) pick out my pattern paper, cardstock, and embellishments; (3) assemble the card bases with pattern paper & ribbon; (4) color the images to match my paper choices; and, (5) assemble the card & add embelishments. The rest of the cards I put together will be posted over the next several days.

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Hanna Stamps (Riley Tennis); Cardstock ~ Papertrey Ink, Doodlebug; Pattern Paper ~ Doodlebug; Ribbon ~ May Arts; Dies ~ Nestabilities; Ink ~ Black Palette & Copic Markers.

Happy Almost Friday!!!!

Wooohoooo! Friday is almost here! I'm always so happy when it comes because I know I have the day off and usually it means I can stamp or scrapbook. This Friday is even more exciting because the 5 new Hanna Stamps sets have been released AND it was my turn to have a challenge on the Hanna Stamps board over at Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge will be to use scallops ~ because I just adore them!

Blog Candy ends Friday morning too & I want to thank everyone for their kind posts. I can't wait to post the winner of my prize! Come on back in the morning for that blog entry. You still have time, so go post! I have more pieces to this Game Night ensemble that I will share with you in the coming days.

Sneak Peek #3

HELLO!!!! Just a quick hello this morning before I dash off for my day. It going to be a busy one around here, but I didn't want to forget to say good morning to all of you. I am completely blown away with all your nice comments this week. I often wonder how many people really read/browse my stuff and what they really think ~ so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

DON'T FORGET THE BLOG CANDY!!! I finished putting it together last night & I'm happy with the project. Here's the next hint ~ you will eat it after you make it. I posted a hint yesterday too.

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Hanna Stamps (Best Friends); Cardstock ~ SU textured; Ink ~ Black Palette & Copics; Die Cut Letters ~ Cricut (Alphalicious cartridge); Stacked Buttons ~ Chatterbox; Corner punch ~ SU.

**************************************
I thought this morning I would take some time to answer some questions (and make comments) about some of your posts from this week:

Claudia ~ Wondered if I would post pictures of my scrap/stamp space ~ ohhhhhh, you wouldn't be impressed with the explosion I have going on right now. I'll get some posted in the coming weeks.

Tina C ~ I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet kitty of almost 21 years. I know how difficult it is to lose a furbaby. Kayla was 14 1/2 when she died last November.

Amy W ~ She says she NEVER wins blog candy. I never win stuff either ~ Good luck!

Paula ~ My best friend from Arizona invited me to come see her since I'm sick of winter. I'll be there tomorrow!

Krissy ~ Had lots of very cute sayings for my little lamb baby card. Love them, very cute indeed!

Kristi B ~ Just said hello, but is stressing big time right now. Just wanted to say "Hi" back. Now stop stressing and go stamp!

Patty G ~ Wondered if I would be giving the candy away that's in the picture. Nope sorry. It's just a picture I found on the internet. BUT, my treat will be very yummy ~ I promise.

Heather ~ She asked if the dog bone paper was pattern paper or a stamp. It's actually one of the stamps in the new Hanna Set called Best Friends.

Rachel ~ Doesn't think she will know what to do with my blog candy. You definately will know what to do!

Iscrap ~ Asked if you need a machine to use the Nestabilities ~ Yes, you will need some sort of die cutting system. I use my Cuttlebug. I'll do a tutorial on this soon or you can visit Ellen Hutson at Simple Dreams (see the link on my sidebar). She has tons of great information on her blog.

You've been patient...it's time for Candy!

It's been a very long time since I've offered Blog Candy & I thought this would be a fun week for it. I know I've been teasing you for a couple of days. Sorry about that, but I was in a gym all weekend with the kids sports. Anyway, here are the details:
  1. post a comment to any thread on this blog ~ you may post up to 5 comments per day. Your posts can be about anything ~ questions, thoughts, quotes, tips, recipes, etc. Just make sure they are nice ~ because I will remove anything that isn't.

  2. post BEFORE Friday, March 14, 2008 at 7:00am (ET).

  3. leave your name ~ if you have a common name like Michelle or Jennier, please leave the first initial of your last name, a nickname or something so I can figure out who you are. I say this because I know about 20 Jenn's and about 40 Michelle's.

  4. I'll pick a winner from using a random generator & post the winner on Friday morning. It will be a super cool prize ~ just so ya know!

Have fun & thanks for playing!

I realize that this page doesn't give you a great look at the new set from Hanna Stamps; however, I love this picture and of my sweet Kayla and just had to use it. The title of this new set is called Best Friend ~ can you guess what the theme is? There will be 5 new Hanna sets coming out this week!!! Sunday's Card...

Well isn't that a snappy title? Not feeling very original this morning at 6:30am ~ no wait it's 7:30am. Did you change your clocks ~ in March? What's up with that? I liked getting up at 7:00 and having daylight. Oh well...

Since I'll be sitting in a gym all day watching my daughter's last volleyball tournament of the year {insert sad face}, I thought I'd better get my card posted for the day. I had the card base put together for my Riley card yesterday {I know, what was I thinking?}. So I had to do something with it last night. I like this one much better with the flower.

I promise I'll get some sweet candy posted soon {probably tomorrow} ~ it's just been a crazy weekend between volleyball and basketball. Happy Sunday!

All Supplies Used are Stampin' Up!: Stamps ~ Live your Dream; Cardstock & Ink ~ Pumpkin Pie, Brilliant Blue, Wild Wasabi, White; Pattern Paper ~ Jersey Shore; Brads ~ Bold Bright; Punches ~ word window, ticket corner.

Are you ready to see green grass, buds on the trees and flowers covering the ground ~ I AM!!!! This card makes me smile. It's not at all what I started out with this morning, but after several attempts, I finally landed on this. I love this new pattern paper from Stampin' Up! because the colors make me happy. Hope you're having a great weekend!

I'm a stampin' machine...

I have been stamping like crazy the past few weeks; unfortunately, I can't share some of it yet. I did want to share this sweet card that I CASE'd from Michelle (sf9erfan) over at Splitcoast Stampers. It's another Sale-A-Bration sample that I used at my last class.

More tomorrow...

The rest of the clamshells...

Here are the other two variations of the my clamshell cards that were inspired by Michelle Wooderson. She has some other great ones on her site too. I'm happy because now I have all the birthday cards done that I need for this month ~ woohooo!

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Live Your Dream (SU); Cardstock ~ Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, white; Pattern Paper ~ Afternoon Tea (SU); Ink ~ Chocolate Chip, Groovy Guava, Soft Sky, Certainly Celery (marker); Circle & Scallop Dies ~ Nestabilities; Ribbon ~ Chocolate Taffeta.

Clamshell Cards...

My friend Michelle is yet again a source of inspiration to me. I saw her cute clamshell cards on her blog & decided to make some for all my March birthdays ~ it's a very busy birthday month! I am super excited with how these turned out & they were very easy to make with my Nestabilities. These wonderful little dies are so handy & easy to store. While punches are fun, they are big and bulky AND you can't punch through two sheets of cardstock like you can with the Nestabilities. Michelle has a great tutorial on her blog, so hop on over there and check it out.

I'll have two more versions of this card tomorrow ~ so stay tuned...

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Live Your Dream (SU); Cardstock ~ Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, white; Pattern Paper ~ Afternoon Tea (SU); Ink ~ Chocolate Chip, Groovy Guava, Certainly Celery (marker); Circle & Scallop Dies ~ Nestabilities; Ribbon ~ Chocolate Taffeta.

Challenge Time...

Over on Splitcoast Stamper, we've been having challenges with our Hanna Stamps. Last Friday, Beth posted a challenge using the colors Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip & Blush Blossom (click HERE to see the challenge. I'm not super crazy about this card, but I do love the color combo.

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Riley Collection from Hanna Stamps; Cardstock ~ Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip & Blush Blossom & Chocolate Chip DS Paper (SU); Ink ~ Black Palette & Copic Markers; Embossing Plate ~ Swiss Dot from Cuttlebug; Dies ~ Nestabilities; Ribbon ~ Chocolate Grosgrain (CTMH).

Now that song is in my head...

You know the one? They say it's your birthday...da na na na na na na... We're gonna have a good time... And so it goes from there. Do you have certain songs that bring back memories for you? I was in the car yesterday with my son & heard an old Chicago tune sung by Peter Cetera, that rushed me right back to the 80's. I love that era of music & the memories that go along with it. My favorite album of all time from the 80's ~ Phil Collins No Jacket Required because it remindes me of when my girlfriends and I listened to that all the way down to South Carolina and back on spring break; Endless Love by Diana Ross and Lionel Ritchie because that was the song Tim & I danced to at our wedding; and, Open Arms by Journey (actually anything by Journey with Steve Perry).

OK ~ now that I've completly dated myself, I guess I'll move on to the card of the day. Today, I have another CASE'd card. Don't worry, I'll get back to original creations soon ~ I just think these are super cute. Today's card was CASE'd from one of my sweet friends Dawn (dostamping on SCS). Thank you for all your inspiration Dawn.

Another quick CASE...

Oops...I meant to post yesterday & totally forgot. Anyway, here's another card I CASE'd from Splitcoast Stampers. The card was made by Melissa Rawlins. Isn't it cool? This card seriously took about 3 minutes to make because it's made using the new Stampin' Up! rub-ons with felt flowers. The result is so dramatic. Thanks Melissa for the great card and inspiration ~ You forced me to actually open my rub-ons rather than just sit and look at them!

All Supplies are Stampin' Up! ~ Sale-A-Bration Rub-ons; Felt flowers; Ice Circle Brads; Black cardstock.
