Super Sweet Treats!

Earlier this month, Sara Davies, the founder of Crafter's Companion hopped over the pond from the UK and shared several of my projects on the Home Shopping Network (HSN).  Here is one of the projects that was featured for Crafter's Companion ~ Popcorn Box with a Pinwheel (Windmill) Template.  I used The Ultimate Tool and the Special Treat Board & paper/embellishments from the Sweet Treats CD-ROM.

Wouldn't this make a fun centerpiece for a birthday party??

Today we are highlighting this beautiful set from
Theresa Momber called Peace and Joy!   Below is a short tutorial how I colored my cardinal.

To select the colors for my cardinal, I picked all of the colors from the Spectrum Noir Reds pack & scribbled the colors on a small piece of cardstock so could select which ones to use.    I started on the belly with a CR10 marker.

Next I used a CR8 marker and overlapped slightly.

Next I added CR11 and finished coloring the bird.

Then I added some TN3 all over to add just a bit of tan.

To try and add just a bit more shading, I added Spectrum Noir pencil 033.

After coloring the holly leaves with DG2 and DG4, I added Spectrum Noir Blendable colored pencils 057 & 106 for a bit more color.  For the berries, I used DR1 & DR5 and then added some white gel pen & Glossy accents.

Now it's time to hop along and see what other wonderful inspiration the designers have to share today.

Today we are using the new Fabulous Holiday Filler set by
Melanie Muenchinger and some fun paper from this month's Winter Cheer Stamp TV Kit.    I decided to use a few of the stamps from this set on a tag with Ocean Mist Ink and used the it to decorate the top of the tag ~ it fit perfectly!  I also added the row of snowflakes in the same color ink at the bottom the tag and a sentiment from the set.  The great thing about this set is the versatility of the images, fillers and sentiments because it can be used in so many ways for so many occasions.

TE: Music Notes.... Now We Wait!

Hi There Friends!  I can't believe it has been 3 years since that wonderful marching band season.  My daughter was a freshman with the Concord Marching Minutemen & it was the year they won the Class B State Championship.  Yes - I have totally spoiled the surprise... sorry about that!  They performed 7th in the line up and then had to wait for the final three bands to finish before they took the field to await the results and awards.  They counted down from 10th place and Concord was the last band called... IT WAS THRILLING!

Today my page features several fabulous products from Taylored Expressions that are perfect for scrapbook layouts and Pockets & Pages type scrapbooking.   My page features the Just a Note music note dies ~ and I totally love them.  They also pair up very well with new Sheet Music embossing folder.

Here's a close-up of the title block.

And another close-up of this fun shot of all the band lined up on the field for awards.

So in real time... 2014, today our great band is off to Regionals!  My daughter is now a senior and my son is a freshman.  It is going to be another thrilling year!!

New Sheena Douglass Stencils

Hi Friends... Today I have another tutorial using the new Sheena Douglass Stencils that were released yesterday from Crafter's Companion.  This time I used the Liberty Stencil along with the eBrush System & Spectrum Noir Markers.

Step 1: Tape the Stencil to the cardstock using the EZ Release Tape so everything stays in place while using the eBrush System.   This tape is great for masking or holding things in place because it is very easy to remove and doesn't ruin your cardstock.

Step 2: Loaded LG2 Spectrum Noir marker in the eBrush System and put the machine on the medium air brush setting and spray the entire area.  If you don't have an eBrush System, you can also use an ink pad and sponge to apply the color.

Step 3: Using the LG4 in the eBrush, spray on the light setting over the entire area.

Step 4: Using the LG5 Spectrum Noir Marker, spray on the medium setting on the left edges of the robe of Lady Liberty.

Step 5: Carefully remove the stencil, keeping one side taped down & see how the image looks.  If you need to apply more ink, replace the stencil and continue with the eBrush.

Step 6: Apply clouds with Memento Summer Sky ink, a sponge and a hand cut cloud stencil.

Step 7: Add a sentiment from the Sheena Douglass Free as a Bird stamp set & Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black.
