Gina K Stamp Out Cancer Blog Hop!

Welcome to a very special Gina K Designs Blog Hop!  As a breast cancer survivor of almost 9 years, I am so excited so share this new stamp set and patterned paper pack, Fight Like A Girl designed by Gina! Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month we are kicking off the first week with this release and a full week of challenges on Stamp TV. Each challenge has a prize giveaway! And a donation to American Cancer Society for cancer research is made for every stamp set sold! So enjoy the hop and then watch for a new challenge every day in the Stamp Out Cancer Forum on Stamp TV!

To color my butterfly, I used 3 colors from the Pinks pack in the 6-pack of Spectrum Noir Markers.   Each 6-pack of Spectrum Noirs are specifically designed to blend beautifully together.   Here I used the DR3, PP5 & PP3.  This is my first finished wing.  I usually work in small areas at a time, so I tested out my colors in one wing and now I'll show you how I did it.

I started out with the DR3 and worked from the center toward the outside.

Then I added some color from the DR3 marker directly to the tip of my PP5 marker and then added the PP5 as the next layer of color and just overlapped the red a bit.

Once the DR3 color ran out on my PP5 marker tip, I added a bit more of the PP5 to my butterfly.  Just overlapping the previous color a little bit.

Finally I added the PP3 color to the entire wing to blend all of the colors together.

Once I finished all of the wings of my butterfly, I stamped the butterfly on my gift bag.

And then I trimmed out my colored image.  The reason I stamped the butterfly on the bag was so that I wouldn't have to cut out the small body or antenna of the butterfly.

Next I popped the butterfly on top of the stamped bag with some foam dots.  Easy as that!

Now it's time to hop!

And our two Guest Designers:

Joyce Casaldi
Joyce Erb

Enjoy the hop and don't forget to play along with all of the challenges this week!
