One Little Word ~ {Explore} May Prompt & Pages

As we close out another week, I wanted to share my One Little Word pages for the May prompt.  This month Ali encouraged us to see our word through the lens of our camera.   I picked nine photos from 2017 that were some of my favorites and also showed how I connected my word to my life.

For my May cover page, I found this fun camera photo on Pinterest and then added the quote from the Ali Edwards Lens digital kit & printed it as a 4x6.  Each month I pick a new color to coordinate with Kraft & for May I picked Mint.  I also added the "May" button from the One Little Word Digital kit & I stamped "through the lens I see" sentiment from the Lens Story Stamp.

The Action card is from the OLW Digital Kit & I added the text in Photoshop Elements.  Then I stamped the "This Month I Will" phrase from the OLW stamp set.  For each photo, I added the word "Explore" or "Exploring" and then one other word as well as a puffy heart sticker.

For the next page, I continued the same journaling for each photo & I also used a date stamp for each photo.  The "Love This View" card is from the Lens Story Kit.

I added just a few more photos to the last page with more favorite photos from 2017 & then found this cool quote on Pinterest & printed on 4x6. Again, I added Kraft and mint cardstock to layer the photo on the monthly divider.

It feels great to be caught up on this project ~ now I wait for the June Prompt ;)

Have a great weekend!

Project 52 ~ Week #20

It's Wednesday & that means it's time to share my weekly page from my Project 52 Album.  Wow ~ the weeks leading up to the end of the school year are just crazy busy!  Thrown into regular school stuff, we are working on renovations at our house and we have lots of year-end concerts for various bands/orchestras.  I also managed to get some time in with my BFF for a girls night out to see Mamma Mia at the local theater ~ What a Blast!!!  It's all great stuff, but makes for lots of extra things on the schedule.  Tomorrow is the last day of school, but I anticipate another very busy summer as well and I plan on enjoying every second of it with both kids home this year!

My page today uses the Favorite Things kit from the Project Life App.  This week we spent tons of time preparing and having the Jazz Cafe event at the school, so half of the page is about that event.  SO MUCH FUN!!!

Have a Great Day!

One Little Word ~ {Explore} April Prompt & Pages

Good Morning!!  Today I wanted to share with you my One Little Word pages from the April Prompt.  The prompt this month was to put Post-Its up around your house to make your word {and questions about your word} visible.

Below is the cover page for my April pages.  It's a photo I found on Pinterest and the "apr" button is from the OLW digital kit.

For my Post-It questions, I decided to rewrite them on 3x4 cards and use an Ali Edwards travel stamp set and stamped "Let's Explore" in light aqua ink as the title of each card.  Then I used the OLW stamp set to add the subtitles.  I just hand wrote my questions, which is normally something I don't like doing, but I guess my WITL project helped me get over some of that dislike for my own handwriting.  I also included my Actions card with a stamp from the OLW stamp set for the subtitle.

For the last few pages, I included another "Post-It" question on the 3x4 card, a photo from Spring Break 2017 and my reflection card for the month.  The pattern card is from Studio Calico with a OLW Messy Circle stamp and the Explore arrow from an older Ali Edwards set.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Week in the Life ~ Day #7 Saturday

Well I've made it through WITL & today is the last post for this project!  This turned out to be a pretty involved project, but I really enjoyed it.  However, once a year is good enough for me.  I enjoyed looking at & documenting my daily life more in depth ~ and it really does open your eyes to new things.

I used the Ali Edwards Week in the Life Kit {WITL}along with products from the monthly Ali Edwards Story Kits & Story Sets, additional Ali Edwards stamp setsAli Edwards WITL digital templates, and stamps & project life cards from Studio Calico.  My Friday pages once again I begin with one of the layered templates that I put over my 6x8 photograph.  I used this year's Ali Edwards template package and used Photoshop Elements to add the text under the date.

Note: if you contemplate doing this project {which I highly recommend}, come up with a daily format for your pages and stick to it.  It makes the project much more manageable.

Transparent divider with the day embellishments.

Here is my journaling page in the 3x8 protector.

And the opposite side.

I wanted to make sure to take a picture of our home for the book and date night!

Lots of pictures of my son and his beautiful prom date.

A bunch of great band kids & a photo of me with Matt.

A few more favorite prom pictures using one of the layered templates.

and the final page of Saturday's pages and the end of my album.

If you missed any days of this album, check out this link!
I hope you enjoyed seeing a Week in My Life.

Project 52 ~ Week #19

Some projects are long and more time-consuming... like my WITL album.  And then some are quick and easy to make and post... like Project 52 using the Project Life App!  I know I've said this before, but this project would never be done, let alone caught up, if it wasn't for the App.

For the cards this week, I used the September Skies kit in the project life App and I also added some photo overlays from the Currently kit.

Week in the Life ~ Day #5 Thursday

Welcome to a new week and more pages from my WITL project.  As I mentioned on previous days, I purchased the Ali Edwards Week in the Life Kit {WITL}.  In addition to the kit, I also used supplies from the monthly Ali Edwards Story Kits & Story Sets, additional Ali Edwards stamp setsAli Edwards WITL digital templates, and stamps & project life cards from Studio Calico.

Today I have Thursday's pages to share and I begin with one of the layered templates that I put over my 6x8 photograph.  I used this year's Ali Edwards template package and used Photoshop Elements to add the text under the date.

The next page is the Thursday divider.

I used a 3"x 8" page protector for my daily journaling.  The box at the top is from the Digital kit called Daily Story Boxes.  Once printed and trimmed, I took a Stampin' Up marker (Poppy) and added some color to the box.

The "T" is from the 2015 December Daily Kit & the little piece of pizza is from the Eat Story Kit.

I mixed in several cards from various Story Kits and Studio Calico kits throughout my album.

I did a done of handwriting in this project... which isn't usually my thing.

I love this story about watching Jeopardy with Matt.

A final page using one of the AE digital layered templates.
This was my view walking up the stairs one afternoon.

Week in the Life ~ Day #4 Wednesday

Welcome back to my blog and more pages from my WITL project.

Today I have Wednesday's pages to share and I begin with one of the layered templates that I put over my 6x8 photograph.  I used this year's Ali Edwards template package and used Photoshop Elements to add the text under the date.

Here is the Wednesday divider decorated.

I purchased the 3"x 8" page protectors and used them for my daily journaling.  I added the box at the top for each day along with the date using the Digital kit called Daily Story Boxes.  Once printed and cut, I took a Stampin' Up marker (Baja Breeze) and added some color to the box.

Today's journaling was longer, so I shifted the summary card to the full page.  The "W" at the bottom of the 3 x 8 page is from the 2015 December Daily kit this year.  The "W" from the WITL kit was too wide for the page protector.   I also used the Ali Edwards Lens Story Set stamps for the This Life card.

I asked my kids and husband to send me a photo of their view and each of them did.  So I added those photos and descriptions to each photo.  The opposite page just has little bits and pieces from my day.

More stories from my day.

Everyday stuff... the Bring on the Routine stamp is from the Ali Edwards stamp set called What Today Looked Like

For the last page I used another Ali Edwards layered template.

Week in the Life ~ Day #3 Tuesday

Welcome back to my blog today for the next set of Week in the Life pages.  Today I'm sharing my Day #3 ~ Tuesday.  I purchased the Ali Edwards Week in the Life Kit {WITL} and I also used supplies from the monthly Ali Edwards Story Kits & Story Sets, additional Ali Edwards stamp setsAli Edwards WITL digital templates, and stamps & project life cards from Studio Calico.

Each day for the cover page, I used this year's Ali Edwards template package and used Photoshop Elements to add the text under the date.

Here I decorated the transparent divider that was an early bird special with the kit purchase.

I purchased the 3"x 8" page protectors and used them for my daily journaling.  I added the box at the top for each day along with the date using the Digital kit called Daily Story Boxes.  Once printed and cut, I took a Stampin' Up marker (More Mustard) and added some color to the box.

Today's journaling was longer, so I shifted the summary card to the full page.  The "T" at the bottom of the 3 x 8 page is from the WITL kit this year.  I used the Ali Edwards stamp set called What Today Looked Like and stamped tone on tone with More Mustard cardstock & ink from Stampin' Up!  I love that stamp set and used it often in this project.

For my next page, I printed several of my 3x4 photos with two landscape photos so they would fit into the pocket correctly.  This is a great tip if you have more photos you want to use and have too many taken in a certain direction.  You could do the same thing with adding two 3x4 portrait photos on a 4x6 pocket.  I have the Canon Easy PhotoPrint software on my computer (it's a free download on the Canon USA website).  There are a bunch of different print options available with or without borders.  I saw another WITL scrapbooker do this in her book & thought it was the perfect way to add more photos without adding a bunch more pages.

The Cost of Goods Right Now card is from the Ali Edwards Review Story Kit.  I went online and looked up some of the prices and then added some of my favorite products at the bottom.

Each day that week, I did screenshots of the weather & my Fitbit stats & I really wanted to include them for each day.  I managed to add them all in various ways.  This week's weather happened to be amazing, so I spent lots of time outside with the dogs.  Yes - you probably noticed that I took a lot of pictures of my dogs this week.  For many of the days, with my husband traveling part of that week, it was just us during the day while my son was at school.

A fun night with old friends... and another selfie that I really don't like.  Oh well!
That's one thing I learned with this project... Just Go With It!

This photo could be titled "This is our Life" ;)
This isn't the normal time of year for Marching Band; however, Matt was
working on audition tapes to be in the US Army High School Honor Band
next January, so we hit the practice field to make some videos.

One more year...
I'm going to miss this view.

So that wraps up day #3 ~ I hope you've enjoyed my pages so far.  I'll be back tomorrow with another set of pages.
