New Goodies from IHP

OH MY ~ I love it when CHA goodies start hitting the store shelves because there are so many fun things to play with!!!!  I've got lots of fun products to show you today all on one simple little Clean & Simple card.    BTW ~ I CASE'd this card from the Stamp It! Techniques 2011 issue by Emily Niehaus (p 41).    I just love her card and decided to use the design & color combo.

The stamp set I used is by Technique Tuesday called Long-Stemmed Sentiments and colored the blooms with a R27 Copic marker then added Glossy Accents on top. The sentiment is from the same stamp set ~ they are words you piece together so you can make it fit any shape you want.  For the paper pieced vase, I used papers from the My Minds Eye Hazel collection.

Supplies from i{heart}papers:
Stamps ~ Technique Tuesday (Long-Stemmed Sentiments)
Ink ~ Palette (Noir); Copic Marker (R27)
Pattern Paper ~ My Minds Eye (Hazel Collection)
Twine ~ Red Divine Twine
Glossy Accents

You can't really see it very well, but I used some Glossy Accents on the magnifying glass & it looks so cool. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to photograph very well.

Mixing it up with the Mix Club Set

What's up today peeps?  I sat down yesterday afternoon and banged out 4 Lizzie Anne cards pretty quickly ~ woohooo!  I love it when I have a productive day.  You'll see more later this week but here is one of the cards I made using the new Mix Club set for Spring called Follow your Dreams

I used a few of the pattern papers from the Echo Park kit called For the Record ~ when did I start loving vintage?  Hmmm....I'm not really sure.  I still don't think my style is anywhere close to vintage, but I do really like the new papers out right now and it's fun to mix and match them up.

Today Lizzie Anne Designs is teaming up with the Playdate Cafe team for this week's color challenge.  I just love the color inspiration picture this week.

For my card, I used the colors, but went in a totally different direction with the theme ~ LOL!  The adorable cow image and sentiment are from the new Mix Club set called Follow Your Dreams.  We had a nice sunny day on Monday, so I couldn't resist going outside to take a picture of my project.  To bad winter has now returned to Northern Indiana ~ :{

Pass...Set....SPIKE!

VOLLEYBALL!  That's been life in our house for the last 8 months or so.  My daughter is full force into Volleyball and it's been a blast for all of us.  Last fall she had the school varsity team; after that, club volleyball sign-ups and practices and then in January the tournament schedule started (with a few travel tournaments thrown in).  What a great group of girls this year ~ so fun to watch!

This past Sunday was the last tournament of the club season (and the coach's birthday).  It was a fun day but  bittersweet at the same time.  So I'm sure you're wondering why I'm bring all of this up on my blog today.  Well.... I know you'll find this hard to believe, but I made the birthday card for the coach & thought I would share it ~ LOL!

I took a 12x12 piece of black cardstock that I scored in the middle so I could fit all the photos and signatures inside.

Here are a few shots from the season.  I can't wait to make a scrapbook of these photos!

If you don't think volleyball players work hard, you are WRONG!  These girls run for every point and are in fantastic physical shape.

Great season girls ~ CONGRATS!

And here is my card using the In the Wild Little Bits set.  This was one of my first LAD sets & it is now retiring so it's 50% off right now but once it's gone, it's gone. ETA: I added Coffee Bean Brown Sparkly Fluff to the giraffe spots & Brown Sugar to the monkey's nose for some texture.

Lizzie Anne Sketch Challenge & an extra...

Happy Tuesday ~ Today I'm playing along with the Lizzie Anne Sketch Challenge.  The sketch can be found on the Lizzie Anne Blog.  I started out wanting to use this cute kite from the May 2010 Mix set (Dream Big) along with the Wonderful World set; however, my circle card turned out much too small for everything to fit.  Therefore, I made two cards because I really wanted to use this pattern paper by My Minds Eye (Good Day Sunshine) along with the images.

Here's a close up of my circle card for the LAD Sketch Challenge

And here's a better view of my 2nd card ~ I just love paper piecing!

So let's see what you can do!  Play along and post your creation to the LAD Facebook page so we can see!

This week the i{heart}papers designers are teaming up with the Our Craft Lounge designers for the OCL Challenge!  Woohooo!  Our challenge this week is to find an OCL card anywhere on the web & recreate it!

I decided to use THIS ADORABLE CARD from Lori Tecler.  She used the Jungle Love stamp set and I just LOVE what she did with it!

Same Layout...Different Set!

Whenever I need to create a card rather quickly, I look back at some of my favorite cards/layouts & use them with different papers and stamps.  It takes some of the thinking out so I can concentrate on picking papers & matching Copic colors to them.

For this fun mushroom card, I used the same layout from the Bundle of Joy card I showed you in my post  last Sunday.  I changed the set to use the Joy in Little Things set and this fun bright paper from Echo Park (All Boy).  Easy peasy & oh so fun!  {This post is a little bitty hint of what's coming tomorrow for the OCL Challenge...shhhh....}

So next time you're in a bind and need a card lickity-split ~ don't recreate the wheel...just CREATE!!!!

Lizzie Anne March Singles

Since we have started a new month, that means that Lizzie Anne Designs has come out with two more new Single stamps.  This month they are sentiment stamps & I decided to use it as the focus of the card.  The first stamp that I have a sample for is called Ageless and I used this week's LAD sketch for my project.  I also used the Timeless Textures Sixlet set for the lace border and some cute paper from October Afternoon.

My next sample uses the single simply called Hope.   I found this sweet bird in the Treasured Trinkets Mix Club set (September '10) & thought it looked perfect with this sentiment.

Check out the sketchbook over on the Lizzie Anne website and the Lizzie Anne Blog for lots of other great samples using the new singles.
