Color Throwdown with some Avery Elle!

Today it's Color Throwdown Day and I'm happy and sad ... all at the same time.  WHY?  Well because I love my card and I've had such fun playing along this month, but today is the last Wednesday of August and I'm all done with my guest spot.

Anyway... my card today uses some gorgeous stamps and matching dies from Avery Elle called Petals & Stems.  This set is one of my favorites!  Oh....and for the sentiment I used the Papel Picado Banners set ~ isn't it fabulous!!!!  The pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye (Happier) and the inks are from Clear Snap & Memento Luxe.

Here is the fun color palette for this week!

Thanks so much to The Color Throwdown team for having me as a guest this month!
It's been a blast!

Along with the Color Throwdown, I also played along on the Avery Elle monthly challenge.
This month they are doing a sketch!

Good Wednesday Morning!  Are you ready for a THROWDOWN???  A Color Throwdown that is...

I'm totally loving the color palette this week and decided to pull out some pretty Paper Smooches sets for my card ~ Bold Blooms & matching Big Bloom dies.   For the leaves, I used the Reflections stamp set with the matching Reflections Leaves Dies.  The sentiment is from the Sentiment Sampler set.  The pattern paper is an old collection from My Mind's Eye called Happy Go Lucky.  I couldn't resist pulling it out for this challenge because the color are PERFECT!

Here's the pretty color palette...

GRS January Color Challenge

Post #2 for today... and it's another challenge card.
I guess it's been a "challenging week" ~ LOL!!

On the 25th of each month, the designers for Gourmet Rubber Stamps have a color challenge.  Here is the color palette for this month!  YUM ~ so soft and pretty.

So...my card started out closer to the color palette, but when it was all said and done, I'm not sure if I missed the mark or not.  I do love it...so at least I have that going for me!  I used the new Rustic Floral Appetizer set along with pattern paper from Basic Grey's Lucille Collection.  For the background, I stamped a script background from the Sealed with a Kiss set in Antique Linen Distressed Ink.  Then I used my Memento Dew Drop Inks in Bamboo Leaves and Rhubarb Stalk to in up the flower.  I love the Dew Drop ink pads because they have a point and it's super easy to get into small areas of a stamp.

I know you'll want to see what the other designers came up with, so don't forget to hop around and take a look!

You should totally play along with this color palette and post your fab creation on the GRS Facebook page so we can make lovely comments about your amazing work!

GRS Color Challenge Day!

Hello, Hello ~ and welcome to Sunday!  Today the GRS team is having our monthly color challenge a few days early.  Usually we have it on the 25th; however, since that falls on Christmas, we thought we would move it up.  Here's the pretty palette for this month...

I needed a gift for an event yesterday, so I decided to play along on the challenge at the same time.  I wrapped the gift in kraft packing paper, tied a felt ribbon around it and then stamped the flourish from Peace & Love Flowers Appetizer Set.  I love how simple it turned out.  Then I used the cool flower from the same set on the card along with the sentiment from Perfect Phrases.  Two different polka-dot embossing folders add some great texture to the card.

Now let's see what the other designers came up with ...

OCL Challenge #107... Time for a color POP!

Ahhhh...it's finally Friday!  I had a great week, but I'm looking forward to spending time with my family this weekend.  My daughter had finals this week and today is the last day, so I know she will be a very happy girl this weekend.

So with Friday comes a new OCL Challenge.  This week it's a color challenge using Black and White with a POP of one other color {your choice}.

My color of choice this week is RED!  So I used the Big Thanks stamp set and used almost all the pieces in the sets to make my background paper.  I stamped them in white and them heat embossed the large "THANKS", so it would stand out.

I hope you can play along on the challenge this week!  It will be fun to see what everyone comes up with for their color choices.
