Finishing December Daily ~ Day #24 & #25

Here we are... the final two days for my December Daily 2016!  Woohooo ~ what a fun project to work on and finish up!  I'm thrilled with how it turned out.

The first page features cards from the Jasmine Jones kit and the transparency and embellishments from Ali Edwards kit.  The focus of this page was our lovely Christmas Eve service at church.

The final page features papers, a transparency and embellishments from the Ali Edwards kit.  It was just the four of us on Christmas Day and it was such a relaxing day.

Here's the back cover page.

And here is the simple way I decorated the Ali Edwards binder.

I hope you enjoyed getting a peek at our Christmas season.  I sure enjoyed putting it together and I know our family will enjoy looking at this album for many years to come.

December Daily ~ #22 & 23

My December Daily just has a few more pages left to share.  Today I have December 22nd and 23rd.  I focused on our outdoor decorations for Day #22 and used the Jasmine Jones cards and flair & the word "twinkle" from the Ali Edwards Kit.

For Day #23, I used both Jasmine Jones and Ali Edwards cards along with several embellishments from the Ali Edwards kit.  I decided to add the recipe for the favorite breakfast dish we serve every single Christmas.

I'll be back in a few days to share the final entry for my 2016 December Daily.  Have a great day!

December Daily # 20 ~ 21

Hello Friends!  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!!  All that prep and now the day is over just like that... it sure goes fast.  But I hope the real Spirit of the Season is always with you!

Today I'm sharing Day #20 & 21 with you.  On day #20, I forced myself to get all of the wrapping done.  It's not my favorite job, so I set up my tablet with Downton Abbey kept it going until the task was done.  I used cards and embellishments from the Ali Edwards kit and sticker letters/washi tape from my stash.  I also included a piece of our wrapping paper in one of the pockets.

Here are a few close ups...

For Day #21, I used supplies from Simple Stories along with the big DEC letters from the Ali Edwards kit.

I typed out the "twenty-one" on the computer for the title card.

Have a wonderful day!

December Daily #18 & 19

Woohooo!  I actually blogged every day this week.  That's what happens when I've been busy making stuff... LOL!  Today for my December Daily project, I'm sharing highlights from last Sunday at church and the bitter cold of Monday... with -25 degree windchills ~ Brrrrr!

For my December 18th page, I used cards & products from the Ali Edwards & Jasmine Jones kits along with wood embellishments from Studio Calico & some odds and ends I found at Hobby Lobby.

The guys did a nice job playing in the lobby at church
and put everyone in the Christmas mood.

For my December 19th page, I used papers, Project Life cards and embellishments from the Hip Kit Club from the December Kit.  I love the products that were sent with this kit & can't wait to dive into them.  I signed up for a 3 month Project Life membership to see how I would like it.  So far, so good!

I added the "Windchill -25" on my photo before I printed it.  Dang it was cold!!

The December card, star paper and teal enamel dots all came with the Hip Kit ~ I found the stamp in my stash as well as the snowflakes and the polka-dot numbers.  I thought the numbers were perfect for this card.

Merry Christmas!

December Daily ~ Day #14 ~ 17...

Hi Friends!  I'm back with more December Daily pages today...

I'm loving this DD project, but I sure wouldn't be able to keep up on it if this is how I scrapbooked normally.  However, for the 25 days of December, it's going to work out well & I really love how it's turning out.

For my Day 14 page, I used some products from the Ali Edwards kit along with some things that came from the Hip Kit Club.  I just started subscribing to this kit and they sent along some cute little freebies in the kit that matched up perfectly as I started wrapping gifts.

Day #15 is when Megan came home for Christmas break!  What a blessing to have everyone home!!!  I used more of the Hip Kit Club freebies for this page.

For December 16 & 17, I used the Ali Edwards cards, stickers and stamp set to document the Christmas baking.  Megan loves to bake cookies!

Have a wonderful day!

December Daily #11 to #13 ~ It's All About Christmas Spectacular!

Hello Again... Since I've been working on my December Daily layouts each day, I have lots to share & blogging a bit more than usual.  The first layout for today is all about the Concord Christmas Spectacular by Concord High School.  What an amazing show!!!  My son, Matt, plays trombone in Symphonic Band, and he is also in Jazz 1 and played in a brass ensemble.  He was incredible ~ super proud momma!

I used the Ali Edwards & Jasmine Jones kits for these pages.  The "dec" is a die from Taylored Expressions.  I made a little pocket for the ticket stubs & added glittery stars from the Ali Edwards Surprise Monthly Story Kit.

Here's a close up of my journaling.  The paper and rubber tag are from the Ali Edwards kit & the stars are from Doodlebug.

My next page combines two days... December 12th & 13th.  These days were a bit thin on Christmas activities, so I documented my favorite Christmas music and movies that I like to watch each year.  The cards are from the Jasmine Jones kit and the journaling was all done on the computer.

Have a great day!

December Daily ~ Day #10 Birthday Time!

My December Daily post for today is all about my daughter's birthday.  On December 10th she turned 20 years old & while we couldn't be with her on her special day, we still managed to find a way to celebrate with her.  I really love how this page turned out!

I used the Simple Stories collection called I AM for this page.  The blush, pink, and gold tones on this page are Megan's favorites, so I knew exactly which photo and supplies I wanted to use.  I also used several dies from Taylored Expressions.

The bottom pockets flip open to reveal photos of the gift box we sent her & journaling about the day she was born and her birthday this year.

One last close up with one flap up and one down.

Have a great day!

December Daily ~ Day #9 Festive Favs

Hi Friends ~ I hope you're staying warm where ever you are... the actual temps are -13 here this morning, with the windchill at -25.  Brrrrr......

To warm you up this morning, I'm sharing some of my cozy little favorites from our Christmas decorations around the house and on our tree.  The "jingle all the way" background paper & large red "9", are both from the Ali Edwards Kit.

A few close ups...

I typed the journaling on vellum.  I also stamped the "bring on the twinkle" from one of the December Daily stamp sets from Ali Edwards.

The "Festive Favs" title are Studio Calico sticker letters & the washi tape is from my stash.

Enjoy & stay warm!

December Daily ~ Day #8... The Story of Our Tree

Happy Friday my friends!!  I hope your week has been great & you have fun plans this weekend.  Today I have another page from my December Daily to share with you.  This is the story of our Christmas tree.  I didn't really think too much about the "why" of my tree until I sat down and started documenting this story.  It was a fun discovery... click on the photo to read the story.

The acrylic overlay on my photo & the gold washi tape are both from the Ali Edwards DD Kit.  I'm pretty thrilled with how this page came out.

And here is the photo of the tree without the acrylic overlay.

The "Story" & the "Christmas Past" stamps are both Ali Edwards.  The letter/number stickers, wood veneer tree, and gold heart are from Studio Calico

Have a wonderful weekend!

December Daily ~ Day #7

I'm back again today with another page from my December Daily.  While this page isn't holiday related, it has part of my December for the past 11 years ~ the day I became a Breast Cancer Survivor.  In the future, I may not document it each year; however, it felt like it warranted a look.

I used supplies from the I AM Collection from Simple Stories for the entire page, except for the #7 tag which came with the Ali Edwards kit.

a close up on the title...

Have a great day!

I made this colorful card using the adorable Xavier Zebra set by Beth Silaika ~ as you can see, it also has this fabulous toucan.

Step 1: Stamp the image in black ink on watercolor paper.
Step 2: Color the majority of the bird's body with the Light Blue Zig Clean Color Waterbrush marker.

Step 3: Add streaks of Cobalt Blue directly from the marker.

Step 4: Use a waterbrush to blend the colors.  Add more ink from the marker as desired.

Step 5: Add Yellow Green ink to the top of the bird.

Step 6: Add streaks of Light Green to the bird & blend with a waterbrush.

Step 7: Add Yellow ink to the eye & bottom of the beak.

Step 8: Add Orange & Bright Yellow to the top of the beak.  Blend with a waterbrush & add more ink as desired.

Step 9: Next color the leaves on the vine with Yellow Green & Light Green markers.  Blend with a waterbrush.

Step 10: Repeat with the same colors on the leaves.

Finished close up ~ I kind of like the messy watercolor look of this.

and a chart of the colors I used
