Gina K ~ Inpiration Blog Hop Day #2

The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous blog hop celebrating the new stamps from the February Release Party. We hope to inspire you with some beautiful card projects as you hop along to each of the designer’s blogs!

Today, my card features the new stamp set Genevieve Giraffe by Beth Silaika with a sentiment from the incentive set Scripty Sayings by Gina K.   Keep scrolling down for a tutorial on how I colored Genevieve.

Enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from the team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win an awesome grab bag of GKD goodies!!!  To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop.

Step 1: Stamp the image on watercolor paper with Staz-On black ink.  Select Spectrum Aqua markers and add ink to a paint palette (or any slick surface).

TIP: When watercoloring, I either use Staz-On ink or pigment ink and heat emboss with embossing powder.

Step 2: Using a water brush, begin with Desert ink on the face and Chocolate ink on the hair on top of her head, neck, tail and feet.

TIP: If the ink is too dark, add a bit of water and dab off with a paper towel.  If it is too light, add more ink directly from the marker and blend with the water brush.

Step 3: Using the Fawn Spectrum Aqua marker, add color directly to some areas of the stamped image.

Step 4: Begin blending with a water brush.

Step 5: Once the Fawn ink is blended on the giraffe, add Chocolate ink to the spots with a water brush.

Step 6: Continue adding ink to the various areas with a water brush until you are satisfied with the result.

Here is a close up of sweet Genevieve...

Kendra, nice lesson on water coloring with a water brush. You make it look so easy everyone should try it.
I just started but I love it... Fun,fun, fun! Now when I have a Dr.'s app I can pack some stamps and some markers and even a little palette. Love those water brushes and so far... No leaks!

I especially like your choice of "kraft" as a main color for your Genevieve card. She is still whimsical, but a bit more serious than the cards that us "fun colors."
