OCL Challenge #89...Still GOING PINK!

YIPEEEE for Friday.  At OCL we've been Going Pink all week for Breast Cancer Awareness & will conclude the week with our normal weekly challenge ~ but we're still GOING PINK!

My project today was inspired by this great mug I found at the Family Christian Bookstore.  I thought it was perfect to use for this week.  I stamped the flowers from the Pretty Petals set and added a scalloped edge to the top of the card to mimic the top of the mug.

Now it's your turn to play along ~ are you ready?  Just add your link to the OCL Blog when you've posted it.

Another Going Pink card...

It's still GOING PINK week over on the OCL Blog and here's another card I made for the festivities!  I used the Vintage Swirls set and stamped the flourishes on my die cut flowers and leaves for an easy peasy accent on my card.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Garden Thoughts set.  This was a super simple card, but I love how it turned out.

Going Pink...

We're Still in PINK Week at OCL and this pretty butterfly is the subject for my card today.  I used the butterfly from the In Flight stamp set.  I stamped the butterfly in bright pink pigment ink and embossed it to make it pop.  Then I added a little bit of pink shades with my Copics and some sparkly Stickles on the inside of the butterfly.  Isn't she pretty?

Take a look on the OCL Blog today and the rest of the week as OCL is GOING PINK this week.

GRS ...November Diners Club Preview

It's time for a preview of the new Diners Club set by Gourmet Rubber Stamps ~ FUN, FUN, FUN!   The images in this new set called Season's Greetings are just beautiful!

For my project today, I used the angel from the set.  I embossed her with brown pigment ink and spayed the paper with Spun Sugar Smooch Spray so it would have some shimmer.  I also used the Damask Stamp set for the background on the card.

Now go take a look at the GRS Blog to see what the rest of the girls on the team have come up with today.  I know you'll see AMAZING projects!

I'll be back tomorrow with more GOING PINK projects!

OCL Goes PINK!

This week is a special week at OCL because we are going PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness.  Today our wonderful designers are celebrating the survivors, remembering those we've lost and bringing awareness to everyone with some very special projects.  I hope you enjoy the blog hop!

My project today is actually a box of chocolates a friend of mine gave me.  I thought it was such a cool slider box design and I knew I wanted to do something really cool with it.  I decided to make something to encourage someone to go schedule a mammogram & after they go, they can have a treat of chocolate!  So this is the front of the box.

Then when you pull the ribbon tab, the box slides open to reveal a new picture.

And here it is all the way open with the little chocolates revealed.

I used the Granny's Support Team stamp set along with a sentiment from the Sweet on You stamp set (which is on the retired list).

OCL will be giving away some great products as blog candy ~ the Granny's Support Team stamp set and 2 jars of Sparkly Fluff ~ in shades of PINK!!!!   So leave comments along the hop today and we will pick a winner tomorrow morning.

Here is our list of PINK Hoppers today ~ leave some love here and on all of these blogs for your chance to win the blog candy:

Hope...Fight Like a Girl

Hey Peeps ~

Today is another Hope You Can Cling to Challenge on SCS. This time Deb Felts is hosting & she asked me if I'd like to help her out and make a sample for the challenge ~ of course, I said YES!   The challenge today is in honor of our year SQUEEZING!  So we are going to do some dry embossing using one of my favorite tools ~ embossing folders (or plates).

For my card today, I used the new Hope set by Paper Smooches along with the Polka-Dot embossing folder by Quickuts.

Play along and see what you come up with ~ don't forget to upload your creation for this challenge (or any of the others) on the SCS Hope You Can Cling To Challenge threads.

IHP Challenge Day... Product Spotlight

It's time for the monthly i{heart}papers monthly DT challenge.  Today we are all spotlighting Tsukineko Fireworks Shimmer Spray on our projects.  They come in 24 pretty colors and the shades will vary slightly based on what color you spray it on.  You can also get lots of different looks using the shimmer sprays & they are pretty sparkly.

I used the Hero Arts set Butterflies & Wildflowers along with the pretty sentiment from Comforting Florals (Market Street Stamps).  I stamped them first in Burnt Umber Palette ink on a piece of confetti cream cardstock.  Then I sprayed the Fireworks Shimmer Spray over the entire piece.  Not sure if you can see all the shimmer on this card ~ it's super pretty in real life.

With any type of spray product, it's best to take it outside or spray it inside a box because of the over spray.  I let mine dry for about 10 minutes and then used my heat gun on it to hurry the process along ~ I'm a bit impatient and the heat gun worked great!

Now I know you'll love seeing what all the other girls have come up with today.  **Giveaway alert** - Kate will be giving away some Fireworks to a random commenter ON TODAY’S DT POSTS so the more you hop and comment on all the DT posts, the more chances you have to win! The winner will be announced on the IHP Blog this Friday so you have until Thursday 9PM EST to leave those comments!

You ROCK!

Happy Monday Peeps!

WHAT A WEEKEND!  My daughter's marching band went to Regionals this weekend and they are in the top ten and will move on to Semi-State next weekend in Indianapolis ~ then the following weekend will be the STATE FINALS!!!  They've been working so hard since mid-July and they were THRILLED to move on to the next step.   Their show is called Rach, Paper, Scissors (in the show title "Rock" is spelled RACH for the Russian composer Rachmaninoff).   Here's a link if you'd like to see the 208 member Marching Minutemen from Concord High School in Elkhart, Indiana ~ this was earlier in the season before the show was complete.  I can't wait to post a link to the full show ~ AMAZING!

Anyway, as I was deciding what to make for my blog post today, I saw this cute juke box and the premade tag that said YOU ROCK ~ {I was tempted to change the ROCK to RACH, but I left it alone}.  I used this fun premade tag and paper from Echo Park (Happy Days) and the stamp set from Paper Smoochies called Perpetual Bliss.

Hope you can cling to...

Since it's October, Splitcoast Stampers is running their month long promotion called Hope You Can Cling To with new challenges each day of this month. I was glancing through the challenges posted so far and found this fun one called Hang In There (HYCCT1108).   You have to have something hanging on your card or 3D item ~ so I decorated my pretty gift bag with a pink ribbon stamp and have the cute little Boxing Gloves hanging from the sentiment.  All of the images are from the Paper Smoochies set called Hope.

Here's a list of the challenges posted so far for the month! Play along...

You're just my type....

One of my favorite new sets from the last Our Craft Lounge release is the set called Years Gone By.  I love the detail on the old fashioned images in the set and the matching typewriter font sentiments ~ so, so fun!  I also used some background images from the Vintage Traveler set as a background for the card.

I hope you have a FABULOUS Tuesday!

Swimming for Katie Blog Hop!

I've seen the love the crafting community can show time and time again and it is so amazing.  Starting today, there will be three days of wonderful projects by over 100 designers to show love and support for a dear friend to the crafting community named Kate (and her husband Kevin and their three young boys).  Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year.  This young wife & mother of 3 was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer.  Her first post about it is HERE.

Now it's your turn to help ~ you can support this cause by purchasing this adorable image (either digital or clear stamp) from i{heart}papers and 100% of the money raised will go to Katie & her family.  Here's my contribution to the blog hop today.

(Digi Image/Stamp: Keep Swimming by Becky Oehlers; Patter Paper ~ Echo Park Splash;
Copic Markers; Juicy Orange Sparkly Fluff ~ Our Craft Lounge; Nestabilities)

This exclusive stamp has been designed by Becky Oehlers is available as a clear stamp, as well as a digis or a dig and SVG cut file.  In addition to the Keep Swimming Octopus, Marianne Walker and D Doodle Designs both also donated digis that are for sale HERE.  Direct donations are also being accepted.  You can find all the information for purchasing or donating HERE

Great Memories...

Today is a little bittersweet ~ it's Megan's last volleyball tournament.  I have LOVED watching her grow and become a fantastic player and WOW can that girl can move quick!  She's been a setter for the last few years and been a great contributor on and off the court.  Thanks for the great volleyball memories Megan ~ you are such a special player.  I know whatever your do with your athletic abilities in the future whether it's volleyball or not, you will contribute tremendously to your team.

Here's a picture of her very first team...

Good Luck today Megan ~ I know, as always, you'll play fantastic!

OCL Challenge #86... Spooky & Sweet

TGIF!!!  Are you ready for the weekend.  I am but it's gonna be a super busy one filled with company, marching band, volleyball and Boy Scout camping.  Whew...I'll be glad when Monday arrives.

But anyway... it's Friday and I'm here to share the new OCL Weekly Challenge with you.  Today it's all about being Spooky and Sweet!  We want to see Halloween or Fall treats.

For my Spooky & Sweet treat, I found this adorable bucket at the Target $ Spot.  I embossed some orange paper and lined it so you could see the cute spider web pattern.

Then I added a cute little fuzzy spider (using Eyeliner Black Sparkly Fluff on the legs) to the front of the bucket using the Spook-tacular stamp set.  The cute pattern paper is from Echo Park's Halloween collection from last year ~ totally LOVE this color combination.

For the treats inside the bucket, I added these fun candy corn lollypops I found at Michael's.  They were a bit challenging to arrange in the bucket, but they sure are cute.  I wonder if they will be as yummy to eat?

Now it's your turn to share a Spooky & Sweet Treat with us.  Once you've made & blogged your project, share it on the OCL Blog post for today.

IHP Birthday Bash Color Challenge

WOW ~ I can't believe i{heart}papers is 3 years old & that later this month I will have been with Kate and the team for 3 years as well.  Time has just flown by!

As part of the birthday celebration, Kate is sponsoring a color challenge using the 3 colors in her logo (pink, green and blue).

I took a few liberties on the color palette, but I did use all three.  I also added a bit of yellow & red that were part of the pretty pattern paper by October Afternoon called Sidewalks.  I thought this paper was perfect for this challenge.

I made the flower on the card using pleated ribbon from Maya Road and colored the top pleats with a Copic Marker (R83).  Then I wrapped the ribbon in a circle using a 2" Glüber as the base.  I added a button and a Kaiser clear gem to the botton (also colored with my Copic Marker).   The sentiment on the card is from the Comforting Florals set by Market Street Stamps and is stamped in Palette Noir Ink.

For my sweet box, I just used some bits and pieces of pattern paper to decorate it and Nestabilities for the shapes and borders.

The designers for i{heart}papers have put together a fun celebration hop for you today ~ you'll want to take a look and play along for changes to win some great products!

This week, EVERYTHING in the store is 20% off with this code: 3bdayDT (valid 10/1-10/7) and there are daily Facebook giveaways!  Also, every order will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate plus refer a friend who orders and you both get an extra entry!

Happy Birthday IHP...and many more!!!!
