Up for a Challenge?

So happy you've buzzed by for a visit today...I didn't get a chance to play along on the OCL Challenge last week, so I'm sharing a card today.  The theme this week is "What Floats Your Boat? ~ or anything else that floats...

So I was looking through my stamps and decided NOT to pick a boat stamp ~ that's far too easy!  So as I came across one of my favorite sets ~ Love in the Air, I realized that hot air balloons float in the sky, so why not?  I matched up these great images with paper from the October Afternoon 9 to 5 Collection and pretty trims from May Arts.

Final Day of OCL/May Arts Week ~ Day #5!

It's our last day for our OCL/May Arts week and not only are we still doing the blog hop, but we have our regular Friday Challenge too!  I'm sure you can guess that the challenge for YOU is to use RIBBON!  Of course...what else would we do today?

My challenge card uses a few different trims ~ the cream crocheted lace trim and some yummy 1/8" black velvet trim.  It's perfect with the Years Gone By stamp set and this fun paper from October Afternoon (9 to 5 collection).

More from OCL/May Arts ~ Day #4

It's already Day #4 of our OCL/May Arts week & it's been amazing!!!  I just love seeing all of the creativity everyone has with ribbon and stamps!

Today's project uses some great new paper from October Afternoon called 9 to 5.  I used the Fabulous Florals set by Our Craft Lounge along with Everyday Sentiments for the greeting.  For the ribbon, I used some great cream trim with brand new orange pom-pom trim.  LOVE IT!!!

OCL/May Arts Day #2!

Here we are on Tuesday of our special May Arts & OCL Blog Week.
Did you see all the amazing projects yesterday by the designers?  FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!

Today I have two projects to share & both use different shades of the same ribbon ~ 1.5" Twill Stripes.   I also used my Every Heartbeat stamp set and my new sentiment set called Everyday Sentiments.

For my second card, I used the same ribbon in a celery green shade along with my new sentiment set ~ Everyday Sentiments.

OCL/May Arts ~ Day #1!!!

It's another FUN filled week with Our Craft Lounge & this time we are partnering up with May Arts and their fantastic ribbon!

For my project today, I used the new Happy Camper stamp set along with the new 2.5" Green Jute.  I cut a wavy line down the middle and then pulled out some of the strands of jute to make the grass.  I just attached it to my card using Scor-tape ~ EASY PEASY!

For my project today, I used several of OCL's Vintage sets for my tags.  The first two tags on the left use the Vintage Traveler stamp set & a sentiment from You Make Me Happy. In addition, I used several beautiful trims from May Arts {loop trim HX09, lace trim 361-58-10, and Velvet 389-18-10}. 

For the third tag, I used the Years Gone By stamp set along with the May Arts Velvet & 389-18-10 & Silk ribbon SK35.  The last tag uses the stamp set Under Lock and Key along with May Arts pretty ribbon, trim and twine (EA16, HX09, 360-38-32, SM10).

OCL Challenge #106...Sketch Day

GOOD MORNING PEEPS!  So what season is it for you?  Today it's winter, but a few days ago it was spring.  Me thinks Mother Nature is confused...  I think I'm confused too with all the school days that my kids have had off this week, but yes, it is Friday & that means it's time for the OCL Challenge.  This week it's a sketch!

So the card I made this week uses the set called Under Lock & Key.  I really wanted to use my new pattern paper pack from My Mind's Eye & thought this wood grain paper would be fun to use with this great vintage set.  I also used some beautiful black velvet ribbon from May Arts.

IHP Challenge Day... Product Spotlight

It's time for the monthly i{heart}papers monthly DT challenge.  Today we are all spotlighting Tsukineko Fireworks Shimmer Spray on our projects.  They come in 24 pretty colors and the shades will vary slightly based on what color you spray it on.  You can also get lots of different looks using the shimmer sprays & they are pretty sparkly. 

I used the Hero Arts set Butterflies & Wildflowers along with the pretty sentiment from Comforting Florals (Market Street Stamps).  I stamped them first in Burnt Umber Palette ink on a piece of confetti cream cardstock.  Then I sprayed the Fireworks Shimmer Spray over the entire piece.  Not sure if you can see all the shimmer on this card ~ it's super pretty in real life.

With any type of spray product, it's best to take it outside or spray it inside a box because of the over spray.  I let mine dry for about 10 minutes and then used my heat gun on it to hurry the process along ~ I'm a bit impatient and the heat gun worked great!

Years Gone By...

One of my favorite new sets from Our Craft Lounge this time is the Vintage set called Years Gone By.  I know, I know... I'm not a vintage girl.  But this set makes such quick and easy cards and I also think the images and sentiments are a great size!

I'm sad to say that Day #5 of the OCL/May Arts week is here and it's the last day for the Blog Hop. My project today uses one of my favorite sets ~ Pretty Petals and the sentiment is from Big Birthday Wishes, another must have set!  I went super clean and simple today but I love how bright and bold the card turned out.  Then I added some Rockstar Red Sparkly Fluff to the flower centers so they would POP!   I used the pretty green gingham check ribbon from May Arts and just double wrapped it around the card ~ easy peasy and super pretty!

OCL/May Arts Day #2 ... Perfect Little Posies

Welcome back to day #2 of our fun OCL/May Arts Week.  My project today uses two stamp sets by Our Craft Lounge ~ Say it with Flowers & Build-A-Bouquet.   I also used 3 of the fabulous ribbons May Arts sent us ~ Lace Trim, Red Polka-Dot Grosgrain, and a gorgeous sheer ribbon with Rosettes.  I trimmed a trio of sweet little rosettes from the ribbon and placed some stamped leaves under them.   The sentiment is a clear stamp so I attached it to my block in a curvy pattern ~ too fun!  The final touch was to add some sweet clear gems to the flowers and sentiment.

OCL & May Arts Team Up!

I am so happy to announce that this week Our Craft Lounge and May Arts are teaming up to show you some amazing products from both companies!   I've peeked at the projects by the OCL designers and "WOW"  is the word that comes to mind!  I know the projects by the May Arts designers will be equally impressive. 

My project for today uses a pretty set called Nature's Notes.  The set has been around for a long time, but it's actually the first time I've used it ~ and it won't be the last!  I stamped the background with Vanilla pigment ink and I heat embossed the butterfly and colored it with Copic Markers and then added some blue and green Pearl Ex.   I really love how this card turned out!  The May Arts products I used ~ blue crochet trim (361-58-34) and this cool natural jute (QW09).
