Gina K Tutorial: Watercolored Die Cuts

Hi Friends!  Today I thought I'd try something a little bit different using some new dies from Gina K Designs along with my Spectrum Aqua Markers.    The dies are from the new wildly popular kit called Flowers & Frames.  {Note: it is currently out of stock; however, there are more due in by the end of May}.  Here's how I made this card...

Step 1: Gather supplies - watercolor paper, Spectrum Aqua Markers (Navy, Teal, Peacock Blue) and a waterbrush.   Add some Spectrum Aqua colors to a palette and  paint color on to the watercolor paper.

{Note: I was experimenting and had embossed the watercolor paper before starting. I didn't end up liking the result of the lattice and changed directions}

Step 2: Once the entire sheet is colored, add color here here and there to fill in any spots until you have the desired look.

Step 3: Using the flower dies from the kit, trim several from the watercolor paper & then emboss them with an embossing folder.  {Note: these were originally embossed with a lattice folder; however, I didn't like the larger pattern and embossed them again with a polka-dot folder ~ see photo of finished project.}

Step 4: Using Spectrum Aqua Markers Sea Green and Bud Green, add colors to a piece of watercolor paper and trim with the leaf die.

Here is a close up of the finished flowers.

Enjoy your day & thanks for stopping by!
