TE: Shake It Up!

Hi Friends!  It's time to Shake things up a bit as the Taylored Expressions team highlights shaker cards this month.    I'm dreaming of warm weather and beaches on this beautiful sunny day in Northern Indiana.

I used the Big Kahuna stamp set and coordinating dies on my card and the Pockets & Page 3x4 Photo Frame to highlight the shaker part of my card.  The Little Bits - Summer Confetti, dots from the Bistro Lights Cutting Plate & Build-A-Scene Sequins are all inside the window.

Hope you find some Sunshine today!

Project Life: Our Day in Pompeii

Hi Everyone!  I have more pages to share with you that I created from my Project Life App.  My big goal this year is to make more pages and document the Moments, which happens to be my One Little Word for 2016!  To be honest... this project is just for me {well, and my family}.  It's not for a design team assignment or because I need to post something on my blog {even though I am sharing them here}.  If no one comments, it's ok... some projects should and need to be done... just because.

Today's adventures take us to the lost city of Pompeii.  This ancient city was covered in volcanic ash from the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD.  We arrived early in the day for our guided tour and managed to beat both the heat of the day and the huge crowds.  Below are 3 layouts packed with pictures of our time visiting Pompeii...

ETA: Our visit was in June 2014.

The mosaics and detailed graphics inside some of the buildings are pretty amazing.

Still can't believe we had this place pretty much to ourselves on this gorgeous day!

I can't believe how much fun this Project Life App is on my tablet.  I've created dozens of pages in just one week!  I know more features for the Android version are coming soon & that will enable me to print all of the pages I've created.  I still love making pages with printed photos, paper and embellishments, but I have to say... this is the way to go if you really want to get a project done quickly and still enjoy the scrapbooking process!

I'll be back with more fun pages next week!

Project Life: The Amalfi Coast {Positano & Sorrento}

Hi Friends!  My One Little Word for 2016 is Moments and for me, that means documenting the big and little moments of our family's life.

I was thrilled last week when Becky Higgins Project Life released the new Project Life App for Android.  I downloaded it the very first day (which was last Wednesday evening), and started creating pages immediately.  As of last night, I have already completed 17 pages!!!  I've never completed that many pages in one week in the 20 years I've been scrapbooking!  I just leave my tablet next to my chair in the familyroom and work on layouts while watching TV in the evening with the family!  It's a great way to enjoy family time because we can talk and share memories of the trip and enjoy the process of finishing pages!

I usually scrapbook in chronological order for our vacations.  However, this time I started with some fabulous photos from the Amalfi Coast in Italy.  This was actually our last stop of this trip, but the photos were just calling me to put them on pages.

We took this cruise in June 2014 and on this day, we docked in Naples, Italy.   Rather than take a large tour booked through the cruiseline, we hired a private driver to take us to all of the spots we wanted to go, and that included a drive along the amazing Amalfi Coast.

When we arrived in Positano, we made our way down the long rows of steps and shops to the beach.  We ate at a fabulous restaurant for lunch... BEST PIZZA EVER!
