More fun with Stencils!

Hi Peeps!  Today I have a new card to share using the new Sheena Douglass stencils from Crafter's Companion.  For this card, I used parts of the stencil by masking the image and I also moved it around a bit.

First I selected a piece of water color paper and several colors from the Gold/Brown (GB) markers.  Starting with the darkest one (GB9), I used the chisel tip and simply started coloring a few strokes across the width of the paper.  Next, I took the GB8 marker and overlapped the GB9 and then went above that a little bit more.  I continued on with the GB7 marker and then added GB6, GB4, GB3, GB2, GB1 (in that order).  Then I used the GB1 marker and went over the entire colored area.  For the bottom area, I used DG1, DG2, DG3, DG4 and then a Blender pen to bleach it out a bit.

Next, I pulled out my new Sheena Douglass "Deer" Stencil and EZ Release Tape to mask off everything on the stencil except the large tree on the right edge.

I loaded a EB8 Spectrum Noir marker in the eBrush System and sprayed color over the background on each side of the card front.

Next, I masked over everything on the stencil except the deer laying down and used the same EB8 Spectrum Noir Marker and eBrush to once again apply color.

I carefully removed the stencil to see my finished image and then added a sentiment to complete the card front.  I added a dark green mat and then attached it to a dark brown cardbase.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Super Sweet Treats!

Last week, Sara Davies, the founder of Crafter's Companion hopped over the pond from the UK and shared several of my projects on the Home Shopping Network (HSN).  Here is one of the projects that was featured today for Crafter's Companion ~ large milk carton with Strawberry Template.  I used The Ultimate Tool and the Special Treat Board & paper/embellishments from the Sweet Treats CD-ROM.

Here is a close-up of the strawberries - the templates for them are on the Sweet Treats CD-ROM and they are so easy to make.  You just run your pattern paper through the printer & cut them out.  Then I used a large sewing needle with twine to gather the top edges and tie them off.

Have a SWEET Day!

Something Spooky from Crafter's Companion!

This week at Crafter's Companion, there will be a new release of Sheena Douglass stamps and stencils.  The stamps are part of the 'A Little Bit Magical' range and the stencils (which I sneak peeked on Friday), coordinate with many of Sheena's stamp sets.  Below, I used a new set called Phantom Ship ~ nice and spooky for Halloween!  To color the background, I used my Spectrum Noir Markers IG2, IG3, TB1, TB2 in my eBrush System.

I used the sentiments from the Phantom Ship set and the cobweb flourish from the Trick or Treating Halloween set.

Have a great day & thanks for buzzing by!

Coming Soon... Stencils!

Hi Peeps!  I'm back today to share a brand new product coming soon from Crafter's Companion ~ STENCILS!  Next week Sheena Douglass will be coming out with an entire collection of Stencils that coordinate perfectly with many of her stamp sets.

The stencil for this project is called Eiffel Tower and I added some stamped images to my piece to finish it off.

To begin, I took a piece of Kraft cardstock and stamped the crackle image from Sheena's Ageing Beautifully stamp set.

Next, to keep my cardstock and stencil in place, I used some EZ Release Tape to hold both down to my work surface.

Using the new eBrush System, I loaded the chisel tip of my Spectrum Noir EB5 marker & placed the setting to the 3rd brush setting to get the most ink output.

Then using the eBrush,  I sprayed color all over the area {and yes, you will make a mess of your stencil; however, you can clean it up with Spectrum Noir Blender Solution.}

Carefully pick up the stencil, leaving one end taped, just to make sure you covered everything.  If you leave one end taped down, you can easily lay the stencil back in place and spray more if needed.

Next, I used Antique Linen Distress Ink and rubbed the ink pad directly on the cardstock to create an aged look.

I ruffed up the edges, added a sentiment from the Sheena Douglass True Colors set & trimmed it with a die from the Die'sire Scallop Tags set.  Then along the edge of the card, I added some leafy images from the Silhouette Garden stamp set.

The Eiffel Tower Stencil will be available for purchase on Wednesday, October 15th... along with the rest of the stencil collection.

Thanks for stopping by today!

TE: Christmas Treat Toppers

Hi Peeps!  Today I have some fun little gift tag/card holders to share using some awesome products from Taylored Expressions.  The fun little Christmas dies are from one set called Christmas Treat Toppers and I used various shades of TE Premium Cardstock to trim them and add layers {colors listed below}.

Each tag is embossed with a different TE Embossing Folder ~ this new one is called Winter Flurry.

And finally a few with non-traditional colors... which I just love doing!

Taylored Expressions Release Day!

It's another wonderful and exciting release day for Taylored Expressions & for my first project today, I used the new Jingle All The Way Die.   I can't wait to make more cards with this fun die!  I trimmed it out with TE Premium Cardstock in Cherry Pop and backed it with Sugar Cube that had been embossed with the new TE Snowfall Embossing Folder.  The sweet polka-dotted patterned paper is from the Gingerbread Lane Paper Pack.

Have you seen the great Taylored Expressions 100% Wool Felt?  It comes in scads of colors and die cuts PERFECTLY!  I used the new Mitten Garland Die to make this sweet gift card holder and then added a little finishing touch with the Little Bits Holly Die.

For the inside of the gift card holder, I added a little tag that can go along with the gift card.  The "Be Merry" sentiment comes with the Mitten Garland.

Take a look at the TE Blog for all of the release products and details as well as a full list of designers who have projects to share today!
