Snow Globe...

Look at the gorgeous detail of this stamp image ~ AMAZING!!! I love the fact that the beautiful images in this Build-A-Bauble set by Lizzie Anne Designs can either be a Snow Globe or an ornament.

It's a very easy image to color and can be perfectly cut out with my Nestabilities circle dies ~ LOVE IT!!!

Party Time...

Yes, I'm still loving the macro setting on my camera. This time I really wanted to show the sweet little package inside the main image.

I really LOVE the colors on this card. The sweet paper is from Heidi Grace ~ she has such an incredible talent for sweet designs & is one of my new favorites.

On the bottom of the card, I've used some other images from Lizzie Anne sets (paisley & a little flower form Circle Sentiments) that are stamps in VersaMark ink. I just love that Lizzie Anne stamps use similar lines and designs so that most of the sets can be used together.

Supplies Used: Lizzie Anne Designs (Party Animal, Circle Sentiments, Jolies Fleurs); Cardstock ~ SU; Pattern Paper ~ Heidi Grace; Ink ~ Palette, Copics, VersaMark; Baubles ~ Starlit Studios; Ric Rac ~ May Arts; Nestabilities.

It's a happy day...

Here's a fun little birthday card (or wedding in this case) with lots of glitter. I used my pink Shimmerz Paint to add a touch of shimmery fun on this card. I not only used it on the main image, but also on the stamped flowers at the top AND on the pink hearts and flowers on the pattern paper.

Then I added some fun sugar coated brads at the bottom of the card to really bring in the BLING!

We are leaving later today for a wedding, so I decided this would make a fun wedding card & jazzed up a cute personalized envelope to go with it.

Inchie Friday...Pumpink Guts!

Well...It's Inchie Friday once again. I had to take last week off because of new releases for both Lizzie Anne and Hanna Stamps, but here is my next installment for Inchie Arts.

As you can probably tell, I love making paper crafts for Halloween. Special treats, spooky cards, and of course scrapbook pages that document all the fun activities. There are just so many ideas for this very fun holiday! The candy alone this year is just so cool ~ like the Pumpkin Spice & Candy Corn Kisses or how about the cute little Ghost Peeps!

Each year, carving pumpkins is a must in our house. Matt loves to dig out the pumpkin guts so he can carve (with help) his beautiful orange pumpkin. He loves to squish the guts through his fingers and dig out the seeds. What a boy!

As I was thinking about ideas for this page, I decided I wanted to show yet another way to use the Inchie squares from Inchie Arts. Here I've taken a large stamp with a wheelbarrow full of pumpkins & then cut out and colored single pumpkins from the image. I also drew a Jack-o-Lantern face on each one with a black marker. You can see the picture below of the full stamp ~ sorry, I can't for the life of me figure out why it keeps rotating sideways. So if you put your right ear on your right shoulder ~ you'll see it just fine. Think of today as doing your neck exercises!

Once the face was drawn, I attached it to a 3/4" square of pattern paper and then I used my Copic Markers to color the edges and top of the Inchie square. I attached the pattern paper to the colored Inchie square and then applied a thin layer of Diamond Glaze over the entire Inchie. It gave it a nice finished look as an embellishment for the page.

Next week's Inchie Project...we'll be jumping in the leaves!

Supplies Used: Inchie Arts ~ white Inchie Squares; Cardstock & Pattern Paper ~ SU; Ink ~ Palette & Copics; Stamps ~ Lockhart Stamp Company & Hero Arts (alphabet); Diamond Glaze; Die Cut Alphabet ~ Cricut (Alphalicious cartridge).

Halloween Past...

One of the things I love most about scrapbooking is looking back at my pages years later. I love to recall the memories and see how much my kids have changed.

Each year on Halloween, our neighbors gather for a potluck supper and trick-or-treating with the kids. It's a blast regardless of the weather. These pictures were from 4 years ago in 2004 ~ and I absolutely LOVE the picture of Matt in his wolf costume.

Tune in tomorrow for Inchie Friday...

Flip Top Robot...

A few months ago I made this fun Flip Top card as a submission for World Cardmaking Day. It didn't get picked up because they wanted my Christmas card; however, I really loved how it turned out & I thought I would share this tutorial I made ~ I was actually thinking ahead and took pictures while I made it!

Here is the outside ~ which really doesn't look all that different than any other card.

However, the "FLIP TOP" is the hidden secret! So do ya want to see how I made it?

Step 1: Cut a standard card base ~ 11" x 4 1/4" & score at 5 1/2". On the top flap, draw a light pencil line 3/8" on both side and the bottom. Then using your pinking sheers, cut a zig-zag cut on all three sides following the pencil line. Be careful on the corners so you get a nice edge. Trim the top score line and remove the trimmed cardstock.

Step 2: Cut two pieces of stripe pattern paper. Piece #1 ~ cut the stripes horizonally at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Piece #2 ~ cut the stripes vertically 4 1/4" x 1". Basically, you want the stripes to go opposite directions on the two pieces.

Step 3: Using pattern paper #2, cut the corners diagonally to create a funny looking triangle.

Step 4: Attach the 1" piece to the larger piece at the bottom & it will give a beautiful finish to your corners. Don't worry about edge of the pattern showing, we will cover that up.

Step 5: Cut a solid piece of cardstock3 3/8" x 4 7/8" & then a piece of white cardstock slighly smaller. Do NOT attach it yet. Just lay it out and fit it inside the card to make sure the edges of the white and colored cardstock don't show outside the zig-zag edge. Trim if needed.

Step 6: Once your white cardstock is the right side, stamp your images. Attach a magnet to the card base and then attach your matted white cardstock on the card base over the magnet.

Step 7: Peel the adhesive off the opposite magnet and place it (adhesive side up) on the other magnet (on the bottom card base). THEN, close your flip top & your magnet will be perfectly placed on your top flap. Attach your pattern pieces and stamped image over the top magnet to hide it. VOILA ~ the inside is done.

Step 8: Decorate the front of your flip top with pattern paper, stamped images & buttons.

Don't you just LOVE IT!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

It's the first Saturday of October & that means it's World Cardmaking Day! Now of all the "special" little holidays they've come out with, I have to say, this one is perfect for me! But... do I really need an excuse to stamp? The funny part is ~ I probably won't even have a chance to stamp today.

I developed this super-easy card especially for the Lizzie Anne Designs Santa's Card Making Workshop that is being unveiled today on the Lizzie Anne website. The thing I like about this card is that is can easily be mass produced for your holiday card. Also, it's easy to substitute different colors and pattern paper to get a completely different look. The supply list and instructions, as well as tons of other fun ideas are on the website.

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Lizzie Anne Designs (Holiday Cheer); Cardstock ~ SU; Pattern Paper ~ Lizzie Anne Designs (Winter Wonderland); Ink ~ SU; Nestabilities; Ribbon ~ SU.

Lizzie Anne is one of the sponsors for World Cardmaking Day (WCD) & I was honored to make a card for the official WCD website. Unfortunately, they didn't put designer credits on any of the cards, so I can share it here with you now.

Supplies:
Stamps: Rockin' Holiday by Lizzie Anne Designs; Patterned Paper: Memory Box; Dies: Nestabilities by Spellbinders (rectangle scallop & classic oval); Ink color: black; Cardstock colors: red and white; Other: markers, glitter pens, ribbon, red brads.

Instrustions:
1. Cut standard card base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2") & score at 4 1/4"
2. Cut white panel (5 3/8" x 4 1/8")
3. Cut pattern paper (5 1/4" x 4") & attach to white panel.
4. Wrap ribbon around white card panel and tie a knot on the far left edge. Then attach to the red card base.
5. Using the Nestabilities rectangle scallop die, cut a 3 1/4" x 4" scallop rectangle.
6. Using the Nestabilities classic oval die, cut a 2" x 2 3/4" oval out of the center of the previously cut rectangle.
7. On a separate piece of white cardstock stamp the fireplace and color using markers (make sure the piece of cardstock is smaller than the scalloped rectangle and that the fireplace will peek through the oval window). Attach to the center of the pattern cardstock.
8. On another small piece of white cardstock, stamp the Christmas tree image, color with markers & cut out.
9. Take the rectangle scallop piece and punch a hole in each corner & attach a red brad.
10. Apply foam dots to each corner and attach to the card base.
11. Attach the Christmas tree to the lower right corner of the scallop rectangle piece.

There are tons of other fun cards on this site ~ so go take a look!
