Vacation Adventures in Roma!

One of the spots we were looking forward to on our trip was Rome.  We were there two years ago for several day and fell in LOVE with the city.  Sadly, this time we had just 6 or 7 hours in Rome, so we made the most of it & hit all of our favorite spots again!

We took the 90 minute train ride into Rome and started out our day at Vatican City & St. Peter's Square.  It was another gorgeous day!

We didn't go in this time because our time was so limited & the lines were already very long.

We walked from Vatican City and headed toward the Campo de Fiori.
We passed the Castel Sant'Angelo (English: Castle of the Holy Angel)

Campo de Fiori ~ an open market that was right around the corner from the hotel where we stayed 2 years ago.   Each morning we went to this market and bought fresh fruit for breakfast.

The hotel where we stayed last time ~ Casa de Fiori
We LOVED it here!

Next stop ~ the Pantheon

We met up for a brief 5 minutes at the Trevi Fountain with some friends from home!
We couldn't believe our luck in seeing each other.

What a blast to see friends while on vacation!
Sadly, they didn't get to see the beauty of Trevi Fountain because it was drained and being worked on.

The Spanish Steps

The Piazza Navona ~ one of my favorite places in the world!

We met up with G-Ma & G-Pa at the Piazza Navona for lunch.

The BEST Caprese Salad at Tre Scalini

Megan looked forward to this Pesto for 2 years!

My Carbonara ~ YUM!

We took a leisurely walk back to Vatican City to catch the train back to the ship.
What a fun day!

Next stop ~ Naples & the Amalfi Coast!
