Today it's my turn for the Lizzie Anne weekly sketch challenge #105. Today's extra challenge is to use dry embossing on your card. Either templates or embossing folders are fine.
I changed up just a few things from the sketch on my card today ~ first I rounded all the corners of the card using my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. I had a little extra time this weekend and went blog surfing. While doing that, I found tons of inspiration on Jennifer McGuire's blog & she rounds corners A LOT! {WARNING ~ you may see several cards in the upcoming days with rounded corners ~ LOL!} I also changed the shape for my stamped image from a square to a Nestabilities square label. Then for the embossing, I used an embossing folder for the background.
I'd love to see what you come up with for the challenge ~ make sure you link your card over on Lizzie Anne Land. It's a pretty simple sketch, so try and think outside the box!
Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Lizzie Anne Designs (December Monthly Mix - Celebrate); Cardstock & Ribbon ~ PTI; Ink ~ Palette, Copics; Nestabilities ~ Label Dies; Quickuts Embossing Folder; Kaiser gems ~ brown.

But it's Christmas...
On my project for today, I used a Christmas set called Deck the Halls and the matching digital paper pack both from Lizzie Anne Designs. This is such a cute little retro set ~ I just love it!
On my card today, I didn't make a Christmas card but instead used the gift image for a birthday present. Also, for the digital paper, I changed the funky red design to a cool black and white paper. I love this background paper!

Happy Jolly Holiday!
I was goofing around trying to come up with an idea for some store samples and this card suddenly came together. It didn't make the final cut as a store sample, but I do like how it came out.
I used the Jolly Ornaments & the Merry Wishes sets from Our Craft Lounge.

Easy Christmas...
I know my posts have been super long over the last week, so I thought I'd have a few days of short and sweet posts. I made this easy card a few weeks ago and really like how it came out. The pop of red is oh so pretty with the subtle background and sentiment.
For this card I used two sets from Lizzie Anne Designs ~ Demask & Holiday Script.
Have a great Monday!

My Yearly Calendar Project
Scroll down to post #1 of the day for my OCL Blog Candy Winner.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far. I'll be stuck in a gym all day today and part of tomorrow for volleyball and basketball ~ but I'm not complaining. I love watching my daughter play sport.
Today I wanted to show you my calendar project for 2010. I decided to try and make it easier on myself this year and bought a digi calendar kit over at Scrap Matters. This cute kit was only $5.95 and is super easy to use in Photoshop Elements (PSE).
The calendar is actually set up to print the size of a CD case; however, I enlarged it by 50% so grandma and grandpa would be able to read it a bit easier. The other things I added were titles and important dates by using the Text feature in PSE. I did a custom calendar for each side of the family and it was so easy to move pictures and text around.
After I printed the pages, I attached them to coordinating cardstock that I stamped with images from Lizzie Anne Designs. Then I stamped a colored dot on each important date so they would pop out at ya. To finish it off I simply punched a hole at the top of each page and threaded a ribbon through it. VOILA ~ done in one night!

Blog Hop & Blog Candy Day!
Here we are ~ it's BLOG HOP & BLOG CANDY DAY!!!!! The release is today and that means you can buy all these wonderful new OCL sets from the retails locations listed HERE.
My blog candy set for today is called Jungle Love! Aren't these the CUTEST little animals???? {pssst...the bananas in the shape of a heart was my idea ~ he he ~ LOVE IT}.
This fun card started out as my IHP challenge last week, but I couldn't get it to work just right so I scrapped it and started over. The pattern paper is from the My Minds Eye collection called Abbey Road (Lucky Me) and I put Coffee Bean Sparkly Fluff on the sweet little monkey.

I think this set is PERFECT for kids Valentines for school. These fun little cards are approximately 3" x 4" when finished & are just a front panel.
I stamped the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment on the back and left room for the children to sign their name. Easy Peasy & ready to go.

OCL Sneak Peeks ~ Day #2!
Hey There! I'm back with a few more sets to show you today. My first set of projects come from the Hearts & Hugs set. I took the XOXO border and repeated it several times to make my own background paper for both the box and the card. For the image on the card, I used three of the images from the set (the heart, part of the border, and the "be mine") . Then to add a little texture to the card, I put black gems on the heart swirls and black pom pom trim on both the card and box. I love how this project turned out!
On my next project for the day ~ I used the new set called Fairy Dust is a Must. I LOVE THAT NAME!!! My cute little fairy is all sparkly with Sugar Crafty Sparkles. The pretty background paper is actually a digital paper pack from Scrap Matters ~ so cute & perfect for my fairy.

IHP Sketch Challenge Day
It's challenge day for the i{heart}papers design team today. This month our Challenge Coordinator, Deb Felts, had us do a sketch challenge by Joanne. I used the funky shaped sketch as an inspiration piece & changed up the triangle for the main image with my label nestabilities. Just trying to think outside the box a bit. I think it turned out pretty & I love the pink and burgundy for Christmas.
You'll want to check out the rest of the cards from the design team to see what they came up with ~ cool stuff for sure!

A New Mix!
IT'S HERE ~ WOOHOOO! Yes, it's the 15th and it's time to see the new Monthly Mix from Lizzie Anne Designs! I love this time of the month and I got my kit yesterday. I even had some time last night to make a few cards with it!
Just look at this set! There are 30 images in it ~ WOW!
My first card uses the three gorgeous snowflake images ~ I am a huge fan of snowflakes and the first color I grab when I'm doing a snowflake card is a shade of blue. I love how soft and pretty this card turned out.

My next card uses the fantastic coffee cup image and I love how the burgundy and Kraft tones work with this negative image. This image is cool because you can use it with the frame of words or place your square punch over the image and not even use the words. ETA: The sentiment around the frame says ~ A cup of coffee shared with a friend is happiness tasted and time well spent.
So that's your first look at the December Monthly Mix. Don't forget, if you sign up to be a Monthly Mix member, your kit is only $25 + you always get 20% off all products on the Lizzie Anne website & lots of other benefits! Click HERE for more information ~ it's really an amazing deal!
