Tutorial for a Spooky Background!

I'm excited to share a fun Halloween projects for Crafter's Companion for the brand new Halloween Release coming out this week.  I made this cute card featuring the new Coffin Die Cut Cards (made from the Shimmering Black Pearl Cardstock) and the Best Witches stamp set.   Take a peek below and see how I made this spooky background.

Select an embossing folder that fits the theme of your card.  I selected the Sheena Douglass Curly Swirls Embossing Folder.  Opening up the card base, place the front of the card in the folder making sure the design comes all the way to the edge of the card front.

Then stack your embossing plates for your machine.  I love my eBosser and I stacked the plates from bottom to top as follows ~ D, C, folder with card, A.  Make sure you always refer to machine instructions for "sandwich" recipes so that you don't jam it up.  Also, never force something to go through your machine.

Let the machine do it's thing ~ with the eBosser, it will automatically feed through and spit it out the back. EASY PEASY!!!

Here you have a perfectly embossed card base.

Next, I used the Delicata Silver Shimmer Ink and dabbed the ink on the card front with a Sponge Dauber, for even more sparkle.

Using the Memento Luxe Wedding Dress white ink, I dabbed it from the ink pad directly to the card base.  Using a light touch so most of the white ink would only hit the raised embossed design.

For the final touch of color, I sprayed some Tangelo Fireworks on the card base and then set the card aside to dry while I colored my images.

After stamping the images with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, I colored them with Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils (20, 21, 22, 78, 80, 82, 91, 92, 94) and Spectrum Noir Markers (CG3, CG4, CT4).  Then I trimmed them with scissors and attached them to the card base with foam adhesive.

Such a fun little spooky card!
