Note Card Box

Happy Monday! It will be a happy day for me because I'm going to spend the day with one of my dearest friends today. We are going to stamp, scrapbook and go to lunch to celebrate her upcoming birthday!

But first ~ I have this fun project to show you that I made for the Lizzie Anne Designs Project of the Month. It's a little 3"x 3" card box with note cards inside.

Print Pattern Paper:

1. Using the Garden Inspirations Digital Paper Pack & Photoshop Elements, change Hue/Saturation color levels to the desired colors. I used the Flowerburst pattern and the Green Leaves files.

2. Print patterns on textured linen cover stock (65#). I printed the blue Flowerburst patten in 8 1/2" x 11" and then scaled it down to 3 1/2" x 5". I printed the leaf pattern in 3 1/2"x5".

Box Instructions:

1. Cut out 4 note card envelopes with die cutting machine.

2. Find the finished scallop side (nice perforated edge side up) and place that at the bottom. Then cut off the left side of each envelope.

3. Fold each piece so the bottom and the remaining side flap is folded up and the scalloped edge is folded down.

4. On the back of each side flap, attach sticky tape.

5. Fit the four sides together so the flaps are connected on the inside. Make sure the nice scalloped edge is on the outside. Remove tape backing to attach together.

6. On the bottom flaps, attach sticky tape to secure it closed.

7. Wrap pattern paper around the box and attach with adhesive. You will need approximately 2" x 14" to fit all the way around.

8. Using a small piece of sticky tape, secure the scallop edges to the box.

9. Wrap ribbon around the top of the box with a knot and secure with a glue dot. Finished size of the box will be 3 1/4" square x 2 1/4" tall.

Note Cards:
Cut 8 pieces of textured cardstock (3" x 6") & score at 3".
Use miscellaneous pieces of pattern paper and the Garden Inspirations set to decorate 8 note cards & envelopes.

Stamps:Lizzie Anne Designs ~ Garden Inspirations and Garden Inspirations Digital Paper; Scallop Note Card Die from Sizzix, Textured Cardstock, Textured cover stock (65#) to print pattern paper, Versamark Ink, Black Ink, Blue Ink, White Ink, White Ribbon.

Sketch Time...

Woohoo ~ it's time for another Lizzie Anne weekly sketch. I haven't played in a few weeks because of the release and lots of other projects to work on ~ but I couldn't resist this cute sketch.

I decided to put a different spin on this one ~ what do ya think?

I used a glitter pen and Stickles on the lemonade glass for a glossy look. I also cut out the image and put it on the embossed circle to make it POP! I love how it turned out.

Did you know that Lizzie Anne has a new place to play? It's called Lizzie Anne Land & it's a great place to find out everything you need to know about what's going on with Lizzie Anne Designs. The sketch challenges are now over there as well as forums, a gallery and all kinds of discussions. Take a look and join in the fun!

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Lizzie Anne Designs (Chillin' & Grillin', In the Background); Cardstock ~ SU & PTI; Ink ~ Palette, Copics, SU; Embossing Folder ~ Cuttlebug; Scallop Edge Punch ~ SU; Ribbon ~ Unknown; Stickles; atyou Spica Glitter Pen; Lemonade packet.

Inchie Friday ~ Spring Awakening...

Hello Spring! As you probably already know, I love spring & can't wait for it's arrival each year. As much as I dislike winter, I do look forward to seeing all the beauty that comes with Spring. One day this week, I walked around our yard and a few of our neighbors yards, and snapped some photos of the gorgeous blooms. CAN YOU BELIEVE I TOOK THESE? Woohoo ~ I love how they turned out! I've decided that nature shots are probably my best work.

I used my sweet little Inchie Arts squares to add the date and some little Spring creatures. I stamped them on a 1" square of pattern paper with black embossing ink and then heat embossed them so they would pop! Then I popped the three purple images (the large photo, the small purple flower photo & the Inchie squares) on black cardstock so they would stand out just a little bit. It's a design secret that draws your eye through the page in a zig-zag from top to bottom. It's a subtle technique, but very effective.

Supplies Used: Inchie Squares ~ Inchie Arts; Ink ~ SU Pigment Ink, Copics; Cardstock & Pattern Paper ~ SU; Stamps ~ Lockhart Stamp Co; Font ~ Word (Harrington).

More from Simon Says Stamp...

Here is part 2 of my new Simon Says Stamp projects. Thanks to Heidi for the nice welcome to the team ~ it's going to be great fun!

My first project today is a picture of my son while we were on a trip last year. It had been a long day of walking in Boston & we happen to be there on the day of the big parade for the Boston Celtics when they won the NBA Championship ~ can you say CRAZY!!!! Oh My Word! So we found a nice lunch spot just before the parade ended and enjoyed people watching for about an hour while we ate. It was a great day!

My next project uses the same circle stamp as I used on the scrapbook page; however, changing the color and adding the brads totally changed the look of the image.

Then my last project is another look at the pretty little mesh backed flower - which is my favorite image of the set. There are also lots of dots and supporting images in this set.

Heidi from Simon Says Stamp, had a very nice welcome for me yesterday & posted my projects over on the Simon Says Blog. She is also giving away this stamp set along with one other if you leave a comment over on the Simon Blog {but you're welcome to leave love here too - LOL!}.

Simon Says...

... STAMP!

Well that's part of an announcment I have today! I have been asked to design projects for a company called Simon Says Stamp. They have an online store with their own line of stamps ~ Here. The name of this set is called MOD Backgrounds and it was fun to use. I love all the different elements in this set ~ my favorite is this great flower with a mesh background.

I used the flower as a backgound stamp all in orange, stamped it again in orange on another piece of cardstock & then stamped it a third time in black. I cut that image out, colored it, and then added it on top of the orange image. I added some of my favorite Sparkly Fluff to the center of the flower.

On this card, I used the 1/4 circle stamp on four different squres to create the main image. Just a few buttons & the embossed circle background pulled all the circles together. The "hello" greeting is from a Hero Arts set called Happy Day Animals.

Thanks Heidi for the warm welcome & I'll have more projects to share with you tomorrow.

Supplies Used:
Card #1: Stamps ~ Simon Says Stamp (Mod Backgrouds); Cardstock ~ SU, PTI; Ink ~ Palette, SU, Copics; Pattern Paper ~ Little Yellow Bicycle; Nestabilties; Ric Rac ~ May Arts.

Card #2: Stamps ~ Simon Says Stamp (Mod Backgrounds); Cardstock ~ SU, PTI; Ink ~ SU, Palette; Embossing Folder ~ Cuddlebug; Nestabilties; Ribbon ~ May Arts; Buttons ~ SEI.

Stamp Club cards...

This past week, I had my bi-monthly Stamp Club ladies over. We usually mix things up a bit now and then with a project; however, this month they asked if we could make some cards. It's always good to stock up on cards for a rainy day.

My first card may look a bit familiar because I made one very similar using my Unity Stamps a few weeks ago. I liked the layout so much, I decided to use it again with the Upsy Daisy set by Stampin' Up!

Supplies Used (All Stampin' Up!) : Stamps ~ Upsy Daisy; Cardstock & Ink ~ Kraft, Olive, Navy; Pattern Paper ~ Urban Garden.

My next card has a fun Z fold ~ so it's stamped inside and out. I got the idea from Julie Davidson over on Splitcoast. This was one of the favorites from my stamp club girls.

I love this sweet set called Cheap Talk ~ it's such a fun set to play with & by far my favorite of the current catalog.

Supplies Used (All Stampin' Up!): Stamps ~ Cheep Talk & Good Friend; Cardstock & Ink ~ Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point; Whisper White; Pattern Paper ~ Good Morning Sunshine; Scallop Edge punch, circle punches, scallop circle punch.

I'll share my other projects in the next few days...
