OCL Sneak Peeks!

Are you coming here from Joy's Blog for the OCL Hop?  If not and you would like to start at the beginning, go over to the OCL Blog!

WOOHOOOO!  It's time for new stamps from Our Craft Lounge!  Today we are taking a peek at 4 new sets that will be available next week at retail locations

Today I'm showing a new Granny set called Growin' With Granny.  It's the perfect summer time set with all the fun "granny sayings" ~ she says the funniest things!  Along with this fun set, I also used some great new paper from Jillibean Soup called Blossom Soup.

Using the same set and papers, I also created another card using the adorable little gopher (or maybe it's a groundhog).  Isn't he hysterical?

Now it's time to hop along to the next blog ~ but don't forget to leave some love along the way so you have a chance to win one of the new sets!  Winners will be selected from all comments left on both the sneak peek and blog hop days.  There will be four random winners selected from ANY of the blogs participating.  The winners will be selected & posted on Monday, June 6th. You can find all the details out on the OCL Blog.  Your next stop on the OCL Hop is .... Lori McAree.

Lizzie Anne June Singles...

It's JUNE!   How did it get here so fast?  June is my favorite month ~ it's warm, everything is green and colorful, it's my anniversary & son's birthday month, we go to Cedar Point & go on vacation .... so many things to love about June!  AND... I have new stamps to play with too!

On the first of each month Lizzie Anne releases two new singles ~ this month they are as cute as can be and oh so summery!  The single I have for your today is called Surfer Dude ~ he's adorable!

I paired up this cute surfer with some great new papers from Fancy Pants called Beach Bum ~ the car with the huge stack of surf boards are already printed on the paper.  I also paper pieced the surf board and added the Hang 10 tag from the same pack of paper too.

You can check out all the details {and see the other great single coming out today} on the Lizzie Anne Blog.

Are you ready for a sketch?  Yes, it's the weekly OCL Challenge and this week it's time for a sketch!  You can find all the details on the OCL Blog, but here is the sketch for this week.

I made two cards for this challenge because I needed some graduation cards this week ~ might as well double up where I can ... right?   I used three different OCL sets for these cards ~ Bookworm, School Notes (Background) & School's Out (for the sentiment).   The fabulous paper is from Crate Paper called School Spirit.

After you make your project, head on over to the OCL Blog and add your link!

Class Cards - Fun with Patterns!

Tonight I'm teaching my last class until next fall at the local scrapbook store in town.  We're going to have some fun with some great summery patterned papers from Echo Park & images from Our Craft Lounge!

My first card uses paper from the Summer Days paper pack along with Sunshine Cheer stamp set and Sugar Sparkly Fluff.   Just a little bit of coloring on this card to add some shadows on the cloud.  The sweet little sun is popped up with a Pop Up Glue Dot.   This makes for a bright and cheerful, but easy peasy class card!

Next up... I used the Build-A-Bouquet and Say it with Flowers stamp sets along with last year's summer papers from Echo Park.  No coloring on this card either because all of the great colors come from the patterned papers.

My next card uses the pattern paper from the Little Boy paper pack along with Joy in the Little Things stamp set and a tad bit of Juicy Orange Sparkly Fluff.

Finally some coloring with Copics ~ but I love this sweet and simple card using the Out for a Spin stamp set and the great plaid paper is from the Little Boy paper pack.

So that's my class for tonight.  I'm hoping they will enjoy playing with patterns!

Today it's my turn to host the weekly Lizzie Anne Sketch Challenge ~ you can find all the details on the Lizzie Anne Blog.

Here's the card I came up with for the challenge using the singles Favorite Jeans and A Good Friend.  I stamped the jeans on denim blue jean paper, colored the patches and trimmed it with scissors.

OCL Challenge #66... Time for Twine

One of the most popular supply items out there right now is twine in natural colors and colored bakers twine.  I know I love using it!  So that's what the OCL Challenge is today ~ use Twine on your OCL project.

I have to say, I really love my project today!  I used the adorable set called Hangin' Loose with Kona along with some very cool paper from My Minds Eye (Good Day Sunshine).  PERFECT TOGETHER!  I used one of the punch out tags in the paper pack and stamped Kona directly on it.  Then I paper pieced the surf board using some of the other patterns in the pack.  As for the Twine, I used it on the button at the top of the tag and also around the middle of the card.

When you play along, make sure you add your direct link to the OCL Blog for your chance to win a set of your choice!
