I love it when I look at an image and the idea for a card starts to form in my head AND THEN the card actually works out on paper. WOOHOOO ~ that's what happened yesterday and I had so much fun working with my Lizzie Anne images. It was a relaxing day of creating and that was just what I needed.
I thought the paint splatter image from the September Monthly Mix (called Treasured Trinkets) was so cool. I stamped it three times in three different colors ~ it worked so well! Then I added the paint brush over the top and colored it with my Copic markers. I added just a touch of Smooch (Pool) to the end of the paint brush so it would look like I was painting. To finish off the card, I used the single that came out a few months ago called Creative Mess ~ it's the perfect touch for these images!

Just for YOU!
Wow ~ what a busy weekend. I'm ready for a nice quiet Monday! I'm planning on playing with my Lizzie Anne Designs stamps all day today. I have a new new single stamps for September 1st that I can't wait to get inky!
I was playing around with my new Lizzie Anne Monthly Mix this weekend. It's called Treasured Trinkets & I just love this pretty label included in the set. I wasn't sure how I was going to use it, but was really pleased with how this very clean & simple card came together.

OCL Sketch Challenge #29
Another Friday means it's OCL Sketch time! This week I decided to use one of our new sets called Football All-Star since it's almost football season ~ woohooo! I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the background stamp and supporting images in this set. My card did deviate from the sketch slightly since I didn't add a sentiment box, but I did use the sketch as the inspiration for the piece.
Make sure you play along & post your direct link to the OCL Blog. The prize drawing for this month will be done next week.

Smile for Me...
This week is FLYING by...how in the world did Thursday come so fast? What will make you smile today? I get to watch my daughter play volleyball today, so that will make me smile for sure!
For my card today, I used images from the new Lizzie Anne Monthly Mix for September called Treasured Trinkets. My inspiration came from a card I saw on Dawn McVey's blog and from a sketch challenge card I made a few weeks ago. I used the October Afternoon Thriftshop pattern paper and paper flowers from Fancy Pants.
I hope you have plenty to smile about today!

You Fill My Bucket!
I'm in LOVE with is adorable single image from Lizzie Anne Designs. It's called You Fill My Bucket and it just came out on August 1st. I love how well it matches this pattern paper by My Little Shoebox which I found at my LSS.
I've had so many long posts and busy days, so today is short and sweet ~ hope it's filled with lots of smiles and hugs!

ETA: My blog candy winner is WENDY TURNER of Bristow, VA ~ woohooo!

Lizzie Anne Challenge Day!
It's that time again when the Lizzie Anne girls work on a fun challenge! This month we needed to take a picture of something we LOVE and make a card using that as our inspiration. So my inspiration came from the photos I took on the first day of school this past Wednesday. I don't care how old my kids are or how much they might grow to dislike it, I will always take their picture before they leave to start a new school year.
Megan is starting 8th grade this year and Matt is starting 5th grade. Both are in new school buildings and were very excited about the year ahead.
Megan is starting 8th grade this year and Matt is starting 5th grade. Both are in new school buildings and were very excited about the year ahead.
Because a new school year brings so many new possibilities, I thought this quote was perfect and decided to use it on my inspiration piece. I also used this week's LAD sketch, so I pulled some double duty! The sentiment and image are both from the new September Monthly Mix called Treasured Trinkets. The fun school paper is from Jillibean Soup & although it's a bit busy, the quote really stands out on the card.
Take a look over on the Lizzie Anne Blog for a list of all the girls playing along today & see what inspired them!

OCL Sneak Peeks ~ Day #2!
It's time for Day #2 of the OCL Sneak Peeks! We are continuing to show you more of the 24 new sets we just released at CHA last month. The OCL designers have been hard at work coming up with fun ideas for our new sets!
I actually have two sets on this fun card today ~ On the Fence & Spooky Tags where I used the sentiment Happy Fright Night. I added some of OCL's wonderful Black Eyeliner Glitter to make the bats and moon sparkle.
My next project also uses the Spooky Tags set. However, this time I used one of the tags from the set, the sentiment from the Little Boogas set & some eyeballs from one of last year's Halloween sets called Spooky Nights. Aren't these eyeball candies hysterical?
You can see the sets over on the OCL blog today & then enjoy blog hopping around today through Sunday to see all the wonderful samples. Don't forget to leave comments on the girls blogs for your chance to win the set I show you on Friday.

OCL Sneak Peeks ~ Day #1!
GUESS WHAT TIME IT IS???? It's time for OCL Sneak Peeks ~ WOOHOOO! We are ready to show you all 24 of the wonderful new sets we just released at CHA last month. The OCL designers have been hard at work coming up with fun ideas for our new sets!
My first set for today is called Trim the Tree. This pretty set has several great solid ornaments included which is great for quick cards. I also used a sentiment from the gorgeous White Christmas set.
For my card, I simply stamped the images, cut them out, then ran them through my Xyron machine and covered them with glitter. To adhere them to the card, I placed the red ornaments directly on the card & popped up the green ornament with foam dots. I drew lines for the hangers and attached knotted ribbons with Glue Dots. Easy Peasy!
The second set I'm showing you today is called Crystal Clear ~ which has some very fun images in it! I used some fun paper I had in my stash by Making Memories called Sabrina.

IHP Challenge Day ~ Let's Get Organized!
Each month we have a special design team challenge for the i{heart}papers team & this month it was all about getting organized. I love organizing things and had several ideas of what I wanted to do; however, I couldn't find exactly what I wanted to work with ~ so I made it up as I went along!
I had this file box that I bought at Target at least 2 years ago (sorry girls, I haven't seen them around for awhile). It was a pretty bright turquoise color, so I toned down the bright color by sponging some Antique Linen Distressed ink on the edges and then on the actual fabric ~ it really did a nice job of aging it up a bit.
Now I don't usually get nervous about stamping on things because I know that I can usually start over or cover it up; however, that wasn't an option on this project, so I was a bit apprehensive about stamping on the box. Well sure enough, the first flower I stamped on the bottom corner, didn't turn out ~ UGH! NOW WHAT??? Well I stamped the flower again on pattern paper, punched out the center and decided to cover up the part that didn't turn out & then added a botton. CUTE STUFF! By the last flower, I had it figured out ~ I needed to put my hand inside the box so the box would stay flat. Hmmm...wish I had thought of that for the first flower ~ LOL!
I looked everywhere for some Kraft file folders to put inside, but didn't have any luck with that ~ I'm sure I'll find some later this week when I'm out and about. So I decided to make dividers with tabs. I used some great paper by October Afternoon called Fly a Kite & Thrift Shop.

For the flower stamps on the box and the matching dividers, I used a several different Unity Stamp sets ~ the June Store Kit (Quiet Essence) and Best Wishes and Blooms.
I haven't added titles to the dividers just yet because I'm not sure exactly what I want them to say. However, when I do, I'll just use one of my alphabet sets to add them.

I decided not to color in the flowers on the dividers because I really liked the look of them simply stamped in brown on the Kraft paper. I did add a bit of ribbon to the finish off the edge and added a nice quote on each divider.
Now you'll want to go see what the other girls have come up with for this fun challenge ~ here's the blog list so you can see all the fun stuff!

Sweet Surprise Sketch
Oh my goodness! I am totally BANANAS about this card ~ I LOVE IT! LOL! Yesterday I decided to see what I could come up with for the weekly Lizzie Anne Sketch. The sketch itself is pretty simple, but that was really half the fun! I used my August Monthly Mix ~ Turn Toward the Sun. I also used some new paper I was given at CHA by a new company called Echo Park and the line is A Walk in the Park.

Scrapling Inspiration
A few months ago, I found a beautiful mini card (aka a scrapling) on Tiffany Ervin's blog. Tiffany and I were on a design team together at one time & her work is very inspiring to me. I just love browsing around her amazing creations. Anyway, when I saw her pretty single flower card (linked above) and knew that I really wanted to make one of my own with my Pretty Petals set.
Card measurements: 2 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Supplies from i{heart}papers: Stamps ~ Our Craft Lounge (Pretty Petals, Say it with Flowers); Palette Ink (Noir); Copic Markers ~ R29, Y15, Y20, G07, YG13.

Making the CUT!
Hello Peeps! It's Monday ~ are you ready for the new week???? Today is my husband's birthday & this is the card I made for him. He loves to do yardwork (which is a total mystery to me), so when this image came out in the Lizzie Anne June Monthly Mix (Life is Good), I knew I was would use it for him.
Talk about a simple card ~ after I figured out the layout, it took me about 10 minutes to put together!

ACK! Finally got my sketch done for this week. I don't usually wait until the very last minute, but I just couldn't get to it until then ~ I think being out of town for CHA threw me off.
Anyway, for my sketch, I decided to flip it around and use the big oval as a place for my sentiment. I used the Sunshine Cheer set along with some Sugar Sparkly Fluff on the clouds.
You can see today's sketch on the OCL Blog & don't forget to play along for your chance to win this month's prize!

Footprints on my heart
Woohooo ~ I finally stamped yesterday! The beautiful new sentiment single from Lizzie Anne Designs, is the focus of my project today. The single is called Footprints & it's a great verse.
"Some people come into our lives,
leave footprints on our hearts,
and we are never ever the same"
Do you have people like that in your life ~ I'm fortunate enough to say that I do.

A birdie told me...
...you were probably ready to see a project rather than more CHA pictures. LOL! Here is a store display card I did a few months ago. I used the cute set called Tweet Thang ~ I just love that set! For a little added POP, I added a Sparkly Fluffed brad in the center of the flower.
I really need to get some stamping done ~ here's hoping I get some time today!

Time with Friends ~ what could be better?
One of the most wonderful parts of CHA is spending time with good friends, making new friends, and meeting online friends for the first time. Today's pictures are all about some of the girls I spent time with last week. I sure wish I had pictures of everyone I spent time with, but that just didn't happen.
