Just Married...

I think this little car is an adorable image! Do you see all the bling on this card? I added touches of glitter with my atyou Spica Glitter pens ~ I love how it turned out. This is the last of my wedding items for this assignment. Here's a shot of the pieces together ~

Wedding Thank You Cards

These easy little postcards were created based on an idea from my friend Michelle Wooderson. She is such a smart girl! She makes note cards all the time & I think they are just brilliant. So when I was putting together this wedding ensemble, I thought they would be a perfect addition. After all the showers and the actual wedding are over, there are always lots of thank you notes to write. These are easy to make & can be done in a large quantity. I have a wedding coming up in October... can you guess what the gift will be for the bride and groom?

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Lizzie Anne Designs; Cardstock & Pattern paper ~ Papertrey Ink; Ink ~ Stampin' Up!; Flowers ~Prima; Pearls ~ Kaiser.

Table for Two...

Here are a few more items from my August Lizzie Anne assignment. While I was planning out this assignment, I decided I wanted to focus on more than just wedding cards. So I thought of all the things a bride-to-be would want to include for her big day ~ so table place cards came to mind. These were actually very easy to put together and didn't take long at all. I wouldn't want to make 200 of them, but they might be fun for the bridal party table, a shower or a small reception.

Wedding Bells...

This month my assignment for Lizzie Anne Designs was their super cute wedding set called Gettin' Hitched. What a fun set to use and there are tons of great images included. A few months ago I made some wedding cards and used a beautiful icy blue color called Aqua Mist from Papertrey Ink. I was just stuck on these gorgeous colors and decided to use them once again.

The shower card is actually a window card and the image is attached on the inside. Can you see the glitter? You gotta add some bling to wedding cards ~ it's a must!

A little hula ...

Look at this pretty paper from October Afternoon! It's from the Detours Collection that has been available this summer. I saw this company at CHA in Chicago last month and I fell in love with their fall line. You will love the new Nightlight line that will be out in September ~ too cute! It reminds me of the movie Monsters Inc. I'm sure I'll end up with the entire line of paper and stamps ~ it's just too much fun!

So back to my card ~ once again this is from the Garden Isle set by Lizzie Anne Designs. It has some shimmer on the grass skirt & flowers, but it didn't photograph. I think I need to go get some of that Shimmerz Paint that Cami is using ~ that should make it pop off the page.

Yes ~ Another Robot...

He is so cute that I just kept going and going ~ I couldn't stop stamping!!! I think that this is my favorite set from the summer collection. But I do love the Garden Isle and Giddyup Girl ~ oh and Rockin' Christmas. Who am I kidding? They are stamps & Lizzie Anne Designs ~ so I love them all.

Little (or Big) things that make us happy...

Look at this adorable gift bag I found at Hobby Lobby! As soon as I saw it, it went into my shopping cart. See the pattern paper I used on my tag? It's the exact same pattern as the bag & they aren't even from the same company. It's the little things that make me happy ~ LOL! This adorable little hobby horse is from the Giddyup Girl set by Lizzie Anne Designs. This set also coordinates with the Howdy sentiment & the Cowboy (available as both a single or in the Little People set).

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Lizzie Anne Designs (Giddyup Girl); Cardstock ~ Stampin' Up! & Papertrey Ink; Pattern Paper ~ The Paper Studio; Ribbon & eyelet ~ Stampin' Up!; Nestabilities.

OK ~ so here is a BIG thing that made my daughter (and son) happy this weekend. My brother-in-law was able to get tickets to the Jonas Brothers Concert in Columbus, OH this weekend. My daughter was thrilled with being able to go see the concert; however, when she found out she would get a picture taken with them ~ I thought she was going to pass out!

When you're 9 & 11 years old ~ It just doesn't get any better than this!

A Lana Card...

These colors make me think of my sweet friend Lana (my quiet time buddy). Last weekend we shared a room at the retreat and we are both early risers. On Friday morning we both woke up at the same time and when we saw each other we waved like crazy to each other ~ it was funny. Then we got up and had a nice visit while we waited for the rest of the girls to get up. I always treasure that time in the morning whether it's quiet time at the retreat or here at home chatting online. I love you Lana Sue!

A little sticky situation...

Ha, Ha, Ha...I love how this card turned out! I have to thank my friend Michelle Yager for this brilliant sentiment! I colored the image and was really happy with how it turned out. I showed it to Michelle and said, "what in the world am I going to do with this image?". That's when she came up with this sentiment. PERFECT!!! It totally makes me laugh!

Well Hello Mr. Robot...

This guy totally cracks me up! He looks like he's just popping in to say "Hello". I am loving the new Stampin' Up! In Colors and they match the new Cosmo Cricket pattern paper perfectly. I'll warn you know ~ my Gizmos and Gears cards all match because they were so fun to make. Look at the little brads on the card. My friend Robin went shopping this weekend during the retreat and picked them up just for me. She said that she thought they would be perfect for my little robot cards ~ isn't she sweet?

Color, color, color...

I colored all weekend long; however, I didn't put to many cards together. Instead, I saved that for when I got home. I decided to take a bunch of pattern paper in a 12x12 paper organizer to the retreat and then I matched up colors while I was coloring. I didn't want to take tons of cardstock or embellishments because I didn't know what I wanted to use so why take a bunch of stuff I may or may not use. This was a totally new approach for me & it worked pretty well.

New Stamp-A-Stack Card

Well I changed my mind on one of my cards for this Friday's Stamp-A-Stack. I have some new goodies from Stampin' Up! and I HAD to use them! I love the new Curly Label Punch ~ it's so cool! I need to start preparing the supplies for my class, so I won't make too many more changes to my cards.

All Supplies Used are Stampin' Up!: Stamps ~ Pocket Silhouettes stamp set; Carstock ~ Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss; Pattern Paper ~ Urban Garden; Punches ~ Curley Label & 1 3/4" circle.

I'm home...

Yes, I'm home from the retreat! Actually, I got home Sunday afternoon, but I've been in a total fog. The retreat was tons of fun & we laughed A LOT! This is a wonderful, but very crazy group. We share such a special bond and I love them all dearly.

So here is one of the project I made while I was there. I ended up making several cards with this adorable sets - Gizmos and Gears from Lizzie Anne Designs. I also colored a bunch of images from other LAD sets ~ so I'll have lots more to share in the upcoming days.

OK ~ it's back to reality today because I need to get things ready for the start of school tomorrow.

Bella's Galore...

I found these fun cards the other day & just had to share them. My friend, Lisa Zappa sent me a bunch of Bella images ~ they were fun to play with for a change of pace.

So pull out something you haven't played with before ~ sometimes it's nice to challenge your creativity.

A Fun Find ...

I was so excited when I went to Meijer the other day and found this cool little bag. Meijer is a super store chain here in the midwest ~ kinda like a Super Wal-mart (but better in my opinion). Anyway, every now and then, I look in the craft section because they will have random sales on things. I found this little bag for $6.00 ~ woohooo! It's the perfect travel case for my Copic Markers. I was so excited about the bag that I bought two of them so I could give one as a gift at my retreat this weekend.

Bone Jour...

You know what I remember about 10th grade French class? The phrase ~ Je ne comprends pas ~ I do not understand. LOL! That's because I used it A LOT! Not sure why I brought that up, but the sentiment on the card made me think of French class.

This was one of my rejected cards from a submission. However, 4 others were selected by Scrap and Stamp Arts, so I'm not sad at all.

I'm Happy Today...

I wrote this entry several days ago, but I know I'm happy today. I'm with a group of some of the most amazing women I've ever met this weekend and I know we are laughing, chatting non-stop, eating, laughing some more & probably shedding a few tears. Each year, many of the women from our group gather in Wisconsin for a retreat ~ and each time it has been THE BEST girlfriend weekend ever!

Far East Treasures...

Several months ago I made a bunch of these cards using this gorgeous Scenic Route paper and Lizzie Anne Designs Far East stamp set. I submitted several from this series for the Autumn issue of Take Ten and just received my advanced issue the other day. While these two cards didn't make the issue, one of my others did, so I was thrilled with that outcome.

I've been working hard lately on publication submissions and I've been so fortunate over the last few months to have several pieces picked up in Scrap & Stamp Arts (September & October) and Take Ten. Over the last two weeks, I've submitted almost 40 pieces to six different magazines ~ here's hoping for a good outcome!

A batch of birthday cards...

Don't you just love to match things up? I'm a matchy, matchy girl. That means when I find scrapbook paper, I have to get the ribbon, the rub-ons, the embellishments and all the great stuff that matches! One day I really needed to make a batch of birthday cards, so I gathered all of my SEI Winnie's Walls product line and some coordinating textured cardstock to work with. What fun! I think I made about 10 projects that day ~ here are a few of them.

Sorry for the bad pictures ~ I had to scan them vs. using my camera
so they don't look nearly as nice as they could have.

And guess what? I didn't stamp one bit on any of the projects! All the words and images were rub-on transfers from SEI and Making Memories.

So go dig out all the old paper and embellishments you have sitting in a drawer
and get a stack of cards made!

New Life...Sketch Challenge

I was asked to come up with a sketch challenge a while back and I really liked how the scrapbook layout turned out. It's a super simple design, but does what it's supposed to do ~ brings the focus to the photograph.

I love working on sketch challenges when I have the opportunity, because it's such a blast to see the different perspectives people have on the same sketch.

So.... will you take this challenge and make something? Give it a shot & don't forget to post here with your link. Who knows, I may even have a prize for my favorite layout or project!

Post your link by Tuesday, August 19th.

Hi & Hello...

So this is the card that I was going to have for my Stamp-A-Stack & then I thought the stamp set was retired. However, I just found out that this stamp set is on the dormant list ~ so I am going to use it after all! The set is called Hi and Hello & I'm using all new colors on this card (Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Baja Blue & Pacific Point).

Stamp-A-Stack ~ part 2...

Here is the 3rd card for my upcoming Stamp-A-Stack. This is a gift card holder and they will make four of them. I decided to have them use a different stamp for each card they create so that's why there are 3 strips of paper in this picture. I was so pleased that this Tart & Tangy Stamp set and the Summer Picnic paper made it to the new catalog ~ super fun colors!

My 4th card will have to wait until my first order arrives. I had one all done with a bunch of new colors and a stamp set for the last catalog. What I forgot to check was that the stamp set actually RETIRED! ACK!!! So, I'll share that card here another time, but it won't be for my class.

Getting Ready for my Stamp~A~Stack...

In a few weeks, I will be having my first Stamp-A-Stack with the new Stampin' Up! catalog. I searched around online a few days ago to try and get me going with some ideas. When I found the thank you version of this card on Splitcoast, it was so perfect that I CASE'd is completely. Then I decided to make a birthday version too so that my customers would have a choice to make either one. Thanks to imamuttnut for the FABULOUS card idea!

My next card is a soft, pretty little card. I decided to use my Cuttlebug embossing folders with ~ just because they are fun. My customers enjoy a little mix of things now and then.

Tune in tomorrow for the next two cards that we will make...

Mahalo..

Isn't she fun? I think this new set from Lizzie Anne Designs is so cute. Have you been over there to check out all the fun new stuff that came out in July. Talk about a stampers paradise!!! I've ordered tons of them ~ so you'll be seeing LOTS of samples with all the new stuff ~ I think there are only 2 sets in the new collection that I didn't order...yet!

Fun Times...

I was looking through some scrapbooking files on my computer today and thought I would share a few of my favorites from our trip to San Diego back in June 2005. The page above was of a wonderful dinner I had with Val & Joy. We had such a good time that night!

Tim and Matt had a great time on all the water rides at Sea World. Megan and I went on rides too, we just didn't go on them over and over again.

This page always makes me laugh. We have been out to San Diego many times and Tim really wanted to do something different. So we decided to take a drive to the desert & see what was out there. There was a State Park we thought we would visit. We drove and drove and drove some more just to show up to NOTHING! The state park was closed and there was literally nothing around. We kept driving because we thought for sure we would come upon something. The kids were board out of their minds and finally just fell asleep. We just had to laugh about the whole thing.

Dotted Flower...

Believe it or not, this is the same set I used on my scrapbook page yesterday (Beautiful Girl post). That's what I love about stamping ~ you can get such a different look with the exact same image.

Have a great day & thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful Girl...

I love all the different looks my daughter has ~ some days she is sweet and innocent, other days she is totally goofy & then there are the days (or moments) when she is so grown up. The other day, I asked her if I could take a few pictures of her. Lately, she has been enjoying all of the modeling shows on TV, so she had a good time posing for the camera. After a few silly shots, I was able to capture some stunning photos of her. My favorite is on this layout I created last night.

The concept for this layout came from the book Page Maps by Becky Fleck {however, it really doesn't look anything like the one in the book ~ LOL}. This book is a great resource for page sketches & fabulous samples. You can check out the link to her site on my side bar ~ she has fabulous card sketches too & she has updates every month.

Make a wish...

I've been loving this new pattern paper I found at my local scrapbook store. It's by Imaginice and it's so colorful and playful. As I was putting the finishing touches on my card, I was having a hard time finding the right ribbon. I ended up using some of my Stampin' Up! double stitched ribbon; however, the stitching was white and my cardstock was vanilla. So...I took my rose color Copic marker and changed the color of the stitching ~ it worked perfectly!

Inspiration from a card...

Matt was invited to his best friend's birthday party yesterday & this was the invitation that arrived. I immediately thought that the bottom looked like my Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Embossing plate. Of course I had to try and make a version of the card!

So where does your inspiration come from? I'd love to hear from you and find out what types of things inspire your projects. Let me know...

So here's how they work...

Yesterday I showed you a project I made using my new Inque Boutique stamps. Here's another one I made with a cute little spring set. I was just about finished with this card and realized I really wanted one of those Sugar Coated Brads from Doodlebug. I knew I had some and searched high and low for them. I couldn't let it go because I knew it would be perfect on the card. Ahhhhhhh... I finally found them under something ~ but I liked the little touch it added.

Anyway, I told you how easy these stamps are to use so today I thought I would show you what they look like. First of all, they are only the rubber part of the stamp ~ there is no foam attached. Instead, a black foam mat comes with each set (the size of the mat depends on the size of the set). Just place your paper on top of the foam mat and place your stamp on your acrylic block. The picture of the stamp in on the back so you can see where you are stamping ~ very cool. They are a very nice quality, deeply etched rubber.

Without thinking, the first image I stamped without the foam mat and I messed it up ~ so the foam mat is really a key piece. But no worries since the sets come with the foam.

Fun New Stuff ...

I'm in love with these new stamps that my friends Mish and Lana introduced me to. They are called Inque Boutique ~ and they are available over at The Purple Turtle. I spent lots of time at their booth during CHA looking at the tons of sets they have and was able to play with them for a while. THEN, they had this basket of little sets there, so I picked up this cute birthday cake set. TOO FUN!!!!

These stamps are so amazingly easy to use, but I'll have more on that tomorrow with another project I have to show you. Right now I want to show you this super fun card I came up with ~ it's probably not a new idea, but I've never done a layout like this before. If you notice the top picture, there is a brad holding the card flap down. There is a better shot below on how the card opens.

The beveled edge paper was actually super easy to do ~ I just put a stripe piece of pattern paper on the card base and then cut a strip going the opposite direction and cut the corners of the 2nd piece. Then to cover it up, just put cardstock over the top. Hmmmm...that probably wasn't too clear. Tell ya what... I'll take some pictures & post them later on.

There are only 3 stamps in this sweet little set, but I used them to the fullest!!!
