Inchie Friday is WICKED today...

Happy Halloween!!!!

How Wicked could she really be? Well she isn't, but she is going to be Elphaba (aka The Wicked Witch of the West) for Halloween.

We usually don't do the whole witch and scary stuff for Halloween, but instead focus on the fun costumes, parties and of course the treats! However, we saw the musical Wicked this year in New York City & LOVED it! When this idea came up, Megan was very excited about it and we decided it was OK since Elphaba is just misunderstood ~ LOL!

This week, I decided to use the white Inchie squares as bullets for my journaling. I felt like it was a great way to set off the journaling and a fun embellishment at the same time.

The last line of the journaling says, "if only she could defy gravity" ~ LOL! If you've seen Wicked, you'll know the song. Are you singing yet?

OK ~ so if Megan isn't Wicked, what about this guy? LOL!

Ohhhh Guess What ~ I am fast approaching the 100,000 mark for blog guests & I'm super excited! I wondered when I started this blog if anyone would be interested in looking at my work. Well, I guess there are! Now there is no way for me to tell who will be my 100,000 guest; however, the first comment I receive after I hit that mark, will of course get a prize from me! So keep visiting and keep posting. Who knows, I may even decided to add some other prizes to the mix.

ETA: Lizzie Anne is have a Halloween Sale today. All of their Halloween stamps will be 40% off! Can't beat that. Tricia and Meridith will also be having some Halloween CANDY on their blogs, so make sure you go check them out.

Stamps Sets by Pine...

I realize that tomorrow is Halloween. However, I finally had an opportunity to stamp with these great Papertrey Ink sets that my friend Pine designed. I am so proud of her! She is an incredible artist and stamp designer and it's such an honor to call her my friend. This month she has 3 new sets by Papertrey & I can't wait to play with them.

Don't forget to check back tomorrow for Inchie Friday & on Saturday I have a VERY special post planned that you won't want to miss!

Dots and Glitter...

This little baby glimmers and shimmers all over the place. I made this card with the Dreaming of Dots set AND the new Pretty Papers ~ BOTH by Lizzie Anne Designs.

Are you ready for Halloween? My kids have their costumes picked out and they carved their pumpkins over the weekend. I have to share these fun photos with you ~

I really should have used this one for my "Pumpkin Guts" scrapbook page!!

Is that funny or what?

Sequin flowers...

I just LOVE how these sweet little flowers turned out! The stamp set is called Dreaming of Dots by Lizzie Anne Designs & the sequins are by Doodlebug. I've had them FOREVER & just never really knew how I would use them. I probably should have gotten rid of them long ago, but I have a hard time parting with scrapbooking/stamping supplies.

Happy Birdy to You!

Here's the perfect little birthday card for a friend. I love this new Party Animal set by Lizzie Anne Designs. So cute and so easy to use! Then match it with is adorable paper by Heidi Grace ~ totally FUN!

After I stamed the birthday bird in brown ink, I just took some bubble gum pink and painted it on the bird to make her shine! Easy peasy!

Inchie Friday ~ Halloween Frame

Well...here we are, another Inchie Friday is upon us. I am super excited about how this project turned out. I found this cool frame at Hobby Lobby for $1 and it had a 1" inset ~ that totally screamed INCHIES to me!
My original plan was to use the Inchie squares around the entire frame; however, it looked so busy to me. Therefore, I let a bit of black show through from the frame between the Inchies.

Something new I did this week ~ I used the long broom stamp across four Inchie squares. It shows how many different ways you can really use them.

Here's a picture of the work in progress! Thanks Paula for the very sweet picture of McKenna ~ it's just perfect in this frame!

Christmas Shaker

It's a little shaker for Christmas. This was a fun card to make; however, it's one-of-a-kind! It was long and complicated. It's actually a complete window shaker because I used two sheets of plastic and the blue ornament is on the inside of the card.

Build-A-Bauble

I know, I know...Christmas is two months away. But, I seem to be working on all kinds of seasonal stuff from the first day of school, Halloween, fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I hardly know what day or month it is any more.

It's appropriate that I'm posting a Christmas card today because today would have been my mom's 73rd Birthday & Christmas was her favorite holiday.

This fun set is called Build-A-Bauble by Lizzie Anne Designs and I LOVE this snowflake ornament.

This is the perfect set to paper piece. I love the party hats and balloon pieced in ~ CUTE, CUTE, CUTE!!! Look at the shimmer on that sweet turtle! I used my Shimmerz Paint (in Olive) and he really turned out super.

This new Lizzie Anne set called Party Animal has been so fun to play with. I just love the little animals, sentiments and the accessories that come with it.

Monday Sketch Challenge...

Today is the day for a sketch challenge over at Lizzie Anne Designs. Meridith is having computer issues, so I said I'd help out today. I don't draw sketches very often so it usually takes me extra time to figure out how to make all the shapes I want to use. I was pretty happy with how the scallop edge turned out!

So this is the sketch, but the extra challenge is to use some dry embossing someplace on your card (like your Cuttlebug embossing folders).

Once you have your card finished, make sure you post a link in the Lizzie Anne Designs Forum under sketch #50.

Circle Sentiments ~ Basic Layout...

I realize this is the same layout I used a few days ago; however, I wanted to show you a completely different look. I not only used the same layout but I also used the same Lizzie Anne set (Circle Sentiments). Isn't it amazing how different this card looks?

Leaves are falling...

Welcome back to Inchie Friday! Today's installment includes some pictures I took 4 years ago. I just adore this picture of my son. I remember the kids had such a great time that day at our neighbor's house. They had just raked the leaves and had a huge pile ready for JUMPING!

I used my Inchie squares from Inchie Arts a few different ways this week. First I colored the edges with my Copic markers to cover the white. Then I covered them with 1" squres of Basic Grey pattern paper. For the "FALL" title, I used rub-ons for the letters. To set the title off, I used some Basic Grey chipboard letter covered with a coordinating pattern paper.

For the acorn embellishments, I stamped my Itty Bitty Acorn from Lockhart Stamps on vanilla cardstock and colored them with my Copic Markers. Then I trimmed them out with brown cardstock and a green scallop square to make them pop up off the page.

On the green 12x12 sheet, I stamped a coordinating leaf/acorn around the border in Versamark ink & added the brown scallop paper on top. These great scallop papers are available from Bazzill and you don't have to do a thing to them!

Supplies Used: Inchie Art squares by Inchie Arts; Cardstock ~ Bazzill; Pattern Paper ~ Basic Grey; Punches ~ SU; Stamps ~ Lockhart Stamp Company, Hero Arts (numbers for date); Ink ~ Palette, Copics, VersaMark; Brads ~ Making Memories.

While I'm showing you a fall page, I thought I'd share a few more pictures I took this week in my backyard.

That's it for today... next Friday I'll share a fun Halloween Inchie Arts project! But don't worry, I've got lots of fun creations to show you every day this week.

PJ Time...

Jammie time...isn't this Riley adorable? Makes me feel like putting on my comfy jammies and just hanging out today. Unfortunately, it's another busy day in our house with school for the kids, volunteering for me, my daughter's first basketball game of the season & I need to get my project ready for Inchie Friday tomorrow.

Oh Happy Day...

These are just PERFECT fall colors! I love this super simple design for card (not to mention it's super easy too). It' one of those layouts that you come back to over and over, but with new paper, stamps and embellishments, it looks a bit different.

I feel like I'm in a rut right now with card layouts ~ they all look the same to me. I think I need to go browse some sketch sites and add them to my sketch book so I don't feel like all my cards look the same.

I just got back from a 3-day car trip with my husband ~ you would have thought I would have lots of new sketches in my book. NOPE! I only opened a magazine once. I guess I needed a few days off "work". Yes, designing is my full-time job now so I consider it my new job. Anyway, it did feel pretty good to have a few days off.

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Lizzie Anne Designs (Circle Sentiments); Cardstock, Pattern Paper, Ink & Ribbon ~ Stampin' Up!; Flowers ~ Prima.

A weekend drive...

Saturday evening, my husband & I left for a quick getaway trip to Wisconsin for a friend's wedding. It was a gorgeous fall weekend and yesterday we drove up to Door County to view the beautiful autumn colors. I was just looking at some of the pictures I took and thought I would share them.
