Whispy Blooms...

I worked on a few projects last week with my stamps from Our Craft Lounge. The sets are called Whispy Blooms and Whispy Patterns. I was super happy with how easy they were to color with my copics & I even added some pretty copper microbeads in the center of the flower.

On my second project, I stamped the flowers on pattern paper and then cut them out and layered them on top of each other. I love how they pop right off the page. I also used my sewing machine for the stems & the zig-zag edge of the pattern paper for the grass.

You would never know both of these cards are from the same set since they look so different.

Sunny Sunday!

Well I'm not really sure if it's going to be sunny or not, but we can hope! Here's a little housewarming card I made for my March assignment for Lizzie Anne Designs. Since the papers are a bit busy, I wanted to make sure the image popped off the card. I love the warm colors of this card.

Inchie Friday ~ Looking for Spring!

I'm searching everywhere, but I can't find spring yet! I want it here NOW! NO ~ I NEED IT NOW! I'm tired of being cold. OK ~ I'm done whining about it.

This page was fun because it just screams SPRING! I took these photos last April & loved how they came out. Yes, I probably over did it a bit with the Inchie squares (38 in all - YIKES!), but once I got going, I just couldn't stop!

Each square was covered with Scenic Route pattern paper & I colored the edges with my Copic markers.

On the polka-dot squares, I stamp the beautiful little butterfly and dragonfly images from the Itty Bitty collection by Lockhart Stamp Company. They are nice subtle touch to the square & still very springy.

I also used my sewing machine to stitch a square just inside the Inchie border.

The photo above is one of my favorites because it shows the great Inchie squares all lined up. They are nice and thin, but yet they add a great 3D effect to the page.

New Neighbor Kit...

Look at this fun set by Lizzie Anne Designs! This set is called Welcome Home and it came out this past January. There are so many possibilities with these houses and sentiments. When I saw the sentiments Welcome to the Neighborhood, I knew I wanted to make a little directory of some sort for new neighbors.

As you can see from the picture, there are four tabbed titles, each on a different sized piece of cardstock so they layer. They all sit inside a little pocket that I made by scoring some cardstock and taping it with Scor-tape.

And then each piece pulls out to show help information about the neighborhood, shopping, restaurants and the all important post office.

Sending Hugs and Sunshine...

This week I need to get a few cards in the mail to some friends who could use some hugs and sunshine. Both had a big loss in their life and their hearts are hurting.

I just got some new goodies from i{heart}papers & couldn't wait to play with them. The paper is new by My Minds Eye called Bloom & Grow. It was my favorite paper company at CHA in January. Other supplies included a wonderful Hero Arts stamp set called Thoughtful Messages for the sentiment and this gorgeous Venise Lace trim from CTrims. Other supplies included a border punch from EK Success, some buttons from Papertrey Ink and linen thread from May Arts.

As you can tell, this card is for someone who just lost their pet. Unfortunately, I've been through this a few times, and it never gets easier. Those sweet furry babies just make their way into our hearts.

I'm DONE!

Woohooo...I'm just about done with the wedding items. Last night I finished the sign for the bridal table, the thank you notes AND the inside of the programs. Today, I deliver everything to the bride! It feels wonderful to have everything completed!

Here is just a simple postcard thank you I put together so the bride and groom can write a quick note to their guests.

And here are favors that will be placed at each place setting at the reception. Jeanette came over this weekend and we put 170 of them together!

Here's the bride ~ Jeanette. We were happy when we discovered a few broken chocolate bars ~ well we HAD to try them to make sure they were acceptable for her guests!

I am thrilled with how everything turned out. Although I've teased Jeanette endlessly about picking the most difficult invitation, I know it made her very happy and I'm pretty proud of the work we were able to accomplish.

I also need to thank my sister, Kathy for the gazillion hours of work she spent helping me. As well as my dear friend Michelle, who gave up a precious Saturday to help reduce my stress level.

Unity Sketch Challenge #17

Once again this week I played in the Unity Sketch Challenge. I try to participate in this challenge each week because it's a great excuse for me to pull out my Unity Stamps & it's not a design team project (although I wish it was ~ ;o) because I love their stamps).

As I mentioned earlier this week, I really need some birthday cards this month. So eventhough the outside of this card could be for any occasion, the inside is a Bird-Day ~ I mean Birthday ~ card.

I think this one will probably go to my sister ~ shhhhh...don't tell her!

Inchie Friday ~ Inch by Inch

"YES ~ FINALLY!!!" Those were my son's words when he realized he was finally tall enough (54") to ride Raptor and Mantis at Cedar Point. Our family loves roller coasters & Matt is a total coaster freak! It was torture that he couldn't ride Raptor with all of us ~ but finally it happened ~ thus the name of this page Inch by Inch (perfect for Inchie Friday, don't you think?).


Last summer, we hit Cedar Point on Coaster Mania day, which is a special day set up for coaster club members. We got a family membership for Matt's birthday just so we could go to this event. The rides opened at 6am and we had a blast! Since Matt waited so long to hit that 54" mark, we had to note the occasion with a photograph!

Here is a little better picture of the pages ~ just so you can see all of the elements I've included on this one.

• I used the white Inchie squares all over the place on these pages.
• I stamped the cute little inch worm from Lockhart Stamp Company on three Inchie squares, colored them with copics, and then set eyelets in them so I could loop thread through them. I thought this was a fun new way to show off the Inchie squares (new for me anyway).
• I also used some Inchie squares for the title. I covered them with cardstock & then stamped a background stamp and letters. I also added the little inch worm to the title so it would all pull together.
  

On the green "Inch" title, I stamped some measurement markings to make the letters pop. I also added one more inch worm Inchie square to the opposite page, so it would match the title page.

This is a bit of a different page for me, but it was fun putting it together. Sometimes I stress a bit about what should or shouldn't go into a page. Then I remember, there really aren't any right or wrong ways to scrapbook ~ so I just need to let go and have fun!

Happy Birthday Cupcakes...

I have a billion March birthdays to get cards made for and I am determined not to miss any this month {mainly because I've been horrible about it lately}. You would think since I make cards on a daily basis that some of them would get mailed ~ pfffffffft, I wish! I really have no excuse, but nonetheless, they don't seem to make it down to the mailbox.

These super fun cards were made with a Hero Arts sets called Cupcakes which is available at i{heart}papers. I just love the bright pop of HOT PINK in these cards.

I also used some fabulous gems from Hero Arts in flowers and hearts ~ they just add the perfect amount of bling to a project!

Chipboard Purse Box

I am loving today's project ~ LOVING IT!!! I have a stamp club coming up Friday night and originally I was going to make a Days to Remember Calendar, but as I was putting it together, I hated it! YUCK! I was so discouraged because I had been planning the piece in my head for a week and it just wasn't coming together. So I started looking around Splitcoast and some blogs and found this cute purse on Beate's blog ~ SO FUN!!!! Beate is so UBER talented & is always a source of inspiration for me!

Anyway, I really wanted to make some post card type note cards & didn't have the right supplies to hold them inside the purse. So I took a clear card box & sandwiched it between my purse & VOILA ~ a fabulous little chipboard purse! I am THRILLED with how this turned out!

I used the new pattern paper by Stampin' Up! called Good Morning Sunshine with the Cheep Talk stamp set. While I was making this, I remembered I do like working with my SU stamps ~ LOL!

I can't decide which little purse I like better the pears or the sunflowers ~ both are so fun!

Here is the side view with the clear box in between the chipboard pieces.

And the notecards (there are also matching envelopes) that go inside the box.

Woohooo ~ I hope my girls love this as much as I do!
