For my card today, I used one of the new images from the new Stamp TV Kit ~ The Simple Things. The set I used is called the same...The Simple Things. Here's what I came up with... and keep scrolling down to see how I made it.
First I selected a piece of water color paper and trimmed it 3.5" x 4.5". Then I selected several colors of Gold/Brown GB markers ~ starting with the darkest one (GB9). Using the chisel tip, I simply started coloring a few strokes across the width of the paper.
Next, I took the GB8 marker and overlapped the GB9 and then went above that a little bit more.
I continued on with the GB7 marker...
Then added GB6, GB4, GB3, GB2, GB1 (in that order. Then I used the GB1 marker and went over the entire colored area.
Next I took the IB1 marker and colored the entire bottom of the card and added a bit of IB2 in a few spots. Then I used the GB1 & IB1 markers to go over the areas again to blend them.
Using Dark Chocolate ink, I stamped the grass. I also made a frame and stamped a sentiment from the set with the same ink. This is such an easy technique... but I promise, you won't get the same results twice. Try different color combinations and if you have the Yellows 6-pack of Spectrum Noir Markers, try blending those... they are designed to work perfectly together.
