Gina K Designs Inspiration Blog Hop

The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop! This blog hop is for our October StampTV Kit Release called Sparkling Christmas.  We hope to inspire you with some beautiful card projections as you hop along in the hop this month!  Enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from our team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win an awesome grab bag of GKD goodies!!!  To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop. For my card today, I used the beautiful snowflakes from both stamp sets included in the kit (Holiday Season & Sparkling Christmas stamp sets) along with this awesome sentiment. I also used the Edible Eggplant and Lovely Lavender cardstock from the kit. Scroll down to see how I made my card.

Step 1: Arrange the images, stamp side down, on watercolor paper.

Step 2: Place an acrylic stamping block over the stamps and press firmly to secure the stamps to the block.

Step 3: Ink the images with white pigment ink, stamp the images and then heat emboss with white embossing powder.

Step 4: Select Spectrum Aqua watercolor markers to color the backgrounds of each snowflake.  I selected Heather, Wildflower and Purple.   Use a paint pallet and waterbrush to apply colors.

Step 5: Spritz water several times so the watercolor paper is nice and wet.  NOTE: The paper will curl, but don't worry, once it dries it won't say that way.

Step 6: Using a water brush, dab color from the pallet to the wet paper.  You want the colors to run.

Step 7: Continue to add additional colors and water until you get the desired effect.

Step 8: Continue to spritz with water so the paper stays wet.

Step 9: Once finished with the snowflakes, use a heat embosser to dry the paper and then assemble the card.

Step 10: Add clear rhinestones to the center of each snowflake and color with LV3 Spectrum Noir alcohol ink marker.

Here's a close up of the snowflakes.
