Gina K Monday Morning Inspiration!

Good morning!  This morning we have some fun Monday Morning Inspiration from a few members of the Gina K. Designs team!  We are sharing ideas for some past favorite seasonal and all occasion stamp sets.

For my first project today, I used the Always Autumn stamp set and rather than using autumn colors, I used the set for a birthday card that can be used any time of the year.

{My card layout was completely inspired by this card from Karen Dunbrook}
Here's how I made my card:

Step 1: Stamp the flower image in white pigment ink on watercolor paper.  Then emboss with white embossing powder.

Step 2: Determine your marker colors.   I selected shades of pink Spectrum Noir Markers (PP3, PP4, PP5).  Start with the darkest pink (PP5) and outline the edge of one side of each petal.  Since this flower isn't very big, I did the whole flower rather than work in sections.

Step 3: Fill in the rest of the petals with the next darkest marker (PP4).  Keep going over the darker color until you achieve the blending you like.

Step 4: Using PP2 and PP3, color in the center of the flower.

Step 5: Since this set didn't have small leaves, I stamped a second flower and used some of the flower petals for leaves.  Using the CG1 & CG2 Spectrum Noir markers, I colored some leaves to tuck behind my finished flower.

Step 6: Using scissors, cut out the flower and the leaves.

Another view of my finished card...

For my next project, I wanted to share some special gifts I made for my kids and the drum majors that I gave them before they went to the Marching Band State Finals this past weekend.   I purchased some of the custom M&Ms to match their show and then used the Keep Calm stamp set to make the label.

The title of the show was The Power of Green and we used the power button symbol on everything this year.

Our kids were amazing and I am so incredibly proud of them! They came 2nd and took home a huge trophy as the State Runner-Up in the State Championships. My daughter Megan is one of the drum majors and is on the far left in this photo. We are all so happy ~ winning first place would have been great, but doing your best show of the season and knowing you couldn't have done anything different, that is priceless!

Enjoy our little hop today & we hope your week is off to a fabulous start!
