I thought I'd share some photos today of a few things we did this past weekend. The kids had Thursday and Friday off, so we decided to load up the RV and take one last trip of the season. We ended up at Maumee Bay State Park near Toledo, Ohio. It is off the shores of Lake Erie & they have gorgeous nature trails and wonderful paved bike paths.
I took the dogs for a walk while Tim went for a bike ride with the kids. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera, but I did snap this picture of a deer we encountered. Not sure you can see it from this picture or not. I sure wish I had had my real camera ~ that zoom could spot a ladybug on top of the Statue of Liberty (well maybe not, but it would have been a great picture).

They have miles and miles of wonderful paved bike paths.
This was the view from our campsite.
Jazz and Pico enjoyed camping there as well ~ we were one of about 10 sites filled in the entire 200+ site campground.
A few close up shots.
A bike ride to the beach where we found handfuls of unexpected treasures.
We can't wait to go back when the weather is warmer ~ BUT, it was nice to have the park all to ourselves.
After our time spent at the State Park, we headed east to Sandusky, Ohio and spent a few hours at the Merry-Go-Round Museum in the historic section of downtown.
After our time at the museum, we headed on over to Cedar Point for the evening and then stayed at their campground for that night. We have season passes for the park & have been there several times this summer, so four or five hours in the park was plenty of time for us this trip. Thankfully, the crowds were small so we got lots of rides done in a short amount of time!
We headed home to celebrate Halloween with Trick-or-Treating. Megan wore an old pumpkin costume I had and Matt was a penguin. He wanted to buy a $30 costume, but I refused. I spent about $5 on felt and elastic and made it myself!
And finally, a few pictures of our view outside our house. The first picture is from our front yard & the second is outside in our backyard.
Hope you enjoyed a glimpse at our weekend fun...
Kendra, your pics are BEAUTIFUL! I loved the marshmallows with eyeballs - hahaha!!!
ReplyDeleteYou live in such a beautiful area of the country, your tree in the backyard is incredible!!
What a wonderful way to prepare for the weather ahead!!
Great pics! I did see the deer & it's good to know about the bike paths. We haven't been to that park, but like to ride - plus Toledo is flat, so I'll be happy with no hills! And what a beautiful tree in your yard.
ReplyDeleteYou did an awesome job with the penguin costume too.
Kendra what a GORGEOUS get away! I'm glad you were able to get one last trip in before winter sets in!!
ReplyDeleteOh Kendra - such beautiful photos!! I would love to one day see what it is like traveling in an RV - oh to have a bathroom nearby while driving!! Heaven!!! I think as a family it would be such a fun time - love the smiles on everyone!!!
