Vacation Pictures...

HELLO AGAIN! I feel like we've been gone FOREVER! We are finally home ~ actually we got home early Saturday morning (1am), but I had things blogged for a few extra days so I could get caught up. I'll have another project to share with you tomorrow, but I really wanted to show you some of the pictures I took during our vacation out west.

On Saturday, June 20th, we packed up our 2 kids and 2 dogs and left Indiana in our new (to us) motorhome to start our trek out west. Our first stop (with activities) was Wall Drug in Wall, SD ~ on our way to Rapid City, SD & Mt. Rushmore.

We exchanged cameras with another family so we could get some family shots in front of the monument. We had perfect weather that day ~ just look at that beautiful blue sky!
After leaving Mt. Rushmore, we were on our way to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. However, on our way we passed through the Wind River Indian Reservation. We found that kind of funny since my husband works for a company called Wind River Systems.

Here is the beautiful Grand Teton Mountain Range!

And finally we made it to Yellowstone National Park!

Our first stop was Old Faithful ~
or as my son would say "Old Reliable"

Very early the next morning (in fact the kids were still sleeping),
we bugged out of our campsite at Bay Bridge and
wondered up North toward the Canyon area.
The dogs went crazy in the motorhome when they saw this guy!

My favorite spot in Yellowstone ~
The Lower Falls at the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone
Another perfect day! Can you see the rainbow?
Another gorgeous shot of the lower falls while we hiked.

That hike was a long way down!
We started up on top of that big rock!

We even saw a grizzly bear on our way up to Tower Falls.
I was a little bummed I only got a picture of his bum ~ he/she just wouldn't turn around.

Another encounter on our way around the park ~ an Elk!

This is a photo at the Fountain Paint Pots ~ so cool!

And there you have the abbrevated version of our trip ~
but you'll see lots more pictures down the road on scrapbook pages.
