We all need to find ways to stay organized in our busy lives. For me, going shopping without a list isn't a good thing. I will either forget something important and/or I will buy way too much stuff that I really don't need!
I found this giant chipboard tag at the local scrapbook store a few months ago. It came with the pad of paper, the clothes pin and a magnet for the back. I had no idea what I would use it for at the time, but when this assignment came up ~ my first thought was to use it for a grocery list & have the clip to hold coupons. Now if only I would remember to take them with me and use them! Once again, I've used the new Hanna Stamps set called Kiss the Cook (I told you I had more to show you ~ and I still do).

EXCITING NEWS FROM HANNA STAMPS! ~ In case you missed this yesterday: For every $50 order (before tax/shipping) from Hanna Stamps! from September 1st through October 1st, your name will be placed into a drawing. Hmmmm...we have a big dry erase board that we have near the door so we can try to keep track of the kids' activities.

ReplyDeletei keep a "set" of cleaning supplies in each bathroom or level of the house so i dont have to walk up and down the stairs everytime i need something. ie: bathroom cleaners, windex, dusting spray, paper towels etc...helps me save some time from running up and down steps.
ReplyDeleteKeep a notepad in the kitchen and when you use up something, put it on the grocery list. I find if I wait to sit down and do a list, I will always forget something. Later I sit down with the grocery ads and look for the deals. I live in a small town, with the grocery stores only being a couple of minutes apart, so I can easily visit all of them.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! It's darling! My little trick is that before I go to the grocery store, hubby and I figure out some meals we'll have this week... Then I can make sure that I get everything for those meals, and I can also limit the "extras" I get... Those usually get wasted for us anyways!

ReplyDeleteUse dryer sheets on ceiling fans and blinds and the dust does stick on as easily. Less undusting.

ReplyDeleteThat is adorable!! The night before I do my grocery shopping, I go through all the circulars and write down the cheapest price of whatever I'm planning on buying (my store matches prices). I also clip any coupons, and grab my list that I've been adding to all week (as I run out). I put it all in a plastic bag and stick it on the fridge. When I go get my groceries, I just grab my little baggie with everything I need and head out the door!

ReplyDeleteYou've probably heard of this, but my time saving tip is that all my spices (including cocoa, cooking spray, boullions etc) are on lazy susan's in alphabetical order. When I need something, I can find them quick.
A couple of tips - wipe shaving cream on mirrors in the bathroom and they will not fog up. For dirty showerheads, take a baggie and fill with vinegar, tie baggie to showerhead (I use a rubberhand) and let it sit overnight.
ReplyDeleteI keep the trash bags in the bottom of the trash can. Then, when you take a full bag outside, you can easily grab a new bag from the bottom of the trash can. No foraging for bags under the sink or anything.
ReplyDeleteBest of all is if you're having a dinner party, or thanksgiving for 30 (yes, I do that!); if you're lucky enough to have someone offer to take out the trash, they know exactly where a replacement bag is located!
I keep a medium sized wicker basket on my stairs. Stuff needing to come up goes in the basket and it gets grabbed the last trip up of the night (after locking the doors).
ReplyDeleteIn the morning, everything that needs to go downstairs gets put in the basket...
My other MUST HAVE is an ongoing grocery list divided in two...one for "local" shopping, one for our monthly trip up to the 'big' store (stop laughing Kendra! Ü) a half hour away.
My tip is similar to one already on here but helps to keep the kids in the mix of taking care of their things. Our stairs are split, 5 up a landing then 8 up. We have 3 small wicker baskets, one for us and each of our girls, that rest on the upper stairs. Each person is responsible for taking up their basket and putting it back when done.
ReplyDeleteI use baskets everywhere...I have a "tea basket" by the coffee pot filled with different flavored tea bags..it helps save some room in my cabinet (I have more room on the counter!)
Since my girls were small, I have used a lower cabinet to house their dishes...cups, plates, bowls. This made them feel in control of what dish they used..yes, two strong willed girls!(and they could help put away dishes, too!) Even though they are teens now (18 & 15!) they will not let me get rid of 'their' cabinet!
