Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day #3: Watercoloring & More...

Go grab a coffee and settle in... I've got lots to share today!  :)  It's day #3 of the Taylored Expressions October Release & I have SIX projects to share!  I know my blog has been a bit quiet for a few weeks... but now you know why!!

First up... some fun Christmas Tags using the brand new Taylored Expressions Watercolor Panels.  You can do TONS of things with these fun 3"x 4" panels.  There are 12 black and white printed panels with beautiful illustrations and sentiments printed on heavy-duty watercolor paper.  I pulled out my Spectrum Aqua Markers to color them, but you can use all sorts coloring mediums.

I trimmed out my tags with the Build-A-Tag 4 die and it fit perfectly!  A few bits of ribbon, twine and jingle bell and VOILA... it's done!

After I colored the pretty border on this tag, I trimmed it with the Build-A-Tag 4 die and then added the sentiment from the In & Out Christmas stamp set.

Next up... I used one of the TE Watercolor Panels for a card!

After I watercolored this "From Our House to Yours" Panel, I added the Picture Perfect - Vertical die and a Holly embossed background.  Easy Peasy!

My next set of projects features the new Beauty Lies Within 3 dies.

There are three gorgeous dies in this set and I paired it up with the new Build-A-Scene Christmas 6x6 Patterned Paper Pack.

And here's a shaker tag I made with extra pieces from my card.

My final project today features the Peek-A-Boo Christmas stamp set and coordinating dies.

I inked up the images with Memento ink and added darker shades to the edges. Then I popped them up on the new Peek-A-Boo Squares die.

I'm using the lovely Vine & Butterfly Set by
Theresa Momber.  I love all of the elements in this set ~ the lovely vine, three gorgeous butterflies, a flower and several fab sentiments!  Below is a tutorial I put together using this awesome set with my Spectrum Aqua Markers and Spectrum Watercolor Paper.

Step 1: Stamp the Vine stamp on watercolor paper with white pigment ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

Step 2: Select a variety of colors from the Spectrum Aqua Markers for the background.  I added my colors to a paint palette using the brush tip. {see list of colors below}

Step 3: Spritz the paper once with water and then begin coloring the background with an Water Brush.

Step 4: Continue adding new colors in small areas and blend them by going back and adding the previous color.   Use a variety of colors to fill the entire background piece.

Step 5: Stamp the butterflies in white pigment ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder.  Then color with a waterbrush in a few shades of blue and green.

Step 6: Finish coloring both butterflies an trim with scissors.

Spectrum Aqua Marker colors used.
