Here Kitty Kitty!

Hi All!  I'm here today with another fun project for The Rubber Cafe!   I have yet another fun card spotlighting the latest Creative Cafe Kit called For the Love of Cats and Dogs with cute little kitty cat Valentine.  All of the stamped images, papers, cardstock, ribbons, and embellishments are included in this awesome kit!    I just needed to add the ink, punches and a few die cuts.

I added the hanging hearts border from the True Love Add-On stamp set using VersaMark ink.  The reason I used VersaMark ink was because I wanted to fill the space but not detract from the rest of the card.  Stamping it in black, or even red, would have been too busy.

For the main image,  I used the pretty Hugs & Kisses circle border from the True Love Add-On stamp set and the sentiment were both stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Next I used the kitty cats from the You've Stolen My Heart stamp set that comes with the kit and I once again inked that up in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I wanted the kitty cats to appear as a silhouette, so I colored them in with a black marker.

Look what a big difference that makes on the image!

For a few final touches, I added the pretty Bo Bunny pattern paper, some red seam binding, and then a pretty red heart gem by Queen & Co. to the center of the bow.

The Creative Cafe Kit is just filled with TONS of embellishments and papers to make your Valentine's Day projects AMAZING!

Supply List:
The Rubber Cafe - Creative Cafe Kit (Stamp sets - You've Stolen My Heart & True Love; Cardstock; Ribbon, Heart Gems; metal Love Heart)
Ink - Memento (Love Letter, Tuxedo Black); VersaMark Ink
Adhesives - 3D Foam Squares

Valentine Graphic Greetings Envelope

Yup... still housebound in Northern Indiana... that means it's still play time.  Today I pulled out a Valentine stamp from my stash from Taylored Expressions ~ Graphic Greetings Valentine.

I inked up the image with my White Memento Luxe Ink pad and then inked up a few lines of the stamp with Love Letter Memento Luxe ink.  Then I embossed it with white embossing powder.  I was hoping the red would show up more, but you can see a bit on the XOXO, hearts, and SWEET lines.   I punched out the heart at the bottom and then embossed it with my Embossalicious Petite Dots folder.

The sweet little bag is from Doodlebug Designs & the ribbon is by American Crafts.  For the tag on the front, I used the Designer Mini Tags and stacked a few layers of the tiny little hearts.  I also used a spare heart that I cut from the Heart Cutting Plate on the sweet little tag.

Thanks for buzzing by today!

Welcome to the World...

Welcome to MONDAY!  Is it cold and snowy where you are?  We've been house-bound since last Wednesday from the subzero temps and snow.  Everything has been canceled ~ school, sporting events, music lessons, even church!  BLECH!  I'm ready to be warm again!  However, I have been getting some crafting projects done... so that's a good thing!

One of the cards I made for the Bebunni Baby release is a cute little bundle of joy from the New Arrival stamp set.  Totally cute huh?  I added some texture on the background with the Grand Dots Embossalicious Folder and on the clouds with the Petite Dots folder.  The sweet bunny is colored with my Spectrum Noir markers ~ Bebunni: IG1, IG2, IG3, IG4, IG5, CR1.  Balloons & Blanket: CR1, CR2, CR3, CR4, CR5, CR6, CR7, CR8, CR11.  Sky: IB1.

Stay warm & thanks for buzzing by today!

Party {elephant} Favor

Hi friends!  Today I'm sharing this fun little party favor that I made using the Party Elephant digital image from Hambo Stamps.   Super cute huh?  To make the pocket, I simply cut a piece of two-sided pattern paper 4" x 7 1/2", scored it at 4", and rounded the corners.  I used Scor-tape to hold it in place.  Then I wrapped some twine around it several times, tied a bow and added a some little happy birthday tags (from my computer).  Easy Peasy!

Today is my last post for the Hambo Team.  It's been a year and I am moving on ~ thanks for all of the fun images and great friendships Monica, Judy and the rest of the team!

Creative Cafe Kit ~ CAS Valentines

I love the card I'm sharing today for The Rubber Cafe.  I am spotlighting the new Creative Cafe Kit called For the Love of Cats and Dogs with a Clean & Simple (or CAS) Valentine.  All of the stamped images, papers, cardstock, ribbons, and embellishments are included in this awesome kit!    I added some ink, punches and a few die cuts here and there... VOILA!

I added the fabulous heart border from the True Love Add-On stamp set using Memento Love Letter ink to jazz up my notebook paper die cut.   When I stamped the heart border, I made sure to stagger the hearts and dots each time... that way it doesn't look so uniform.

For the other border in the set, I stamped it for the bottom of the card on some red scalloped cardstock.  Then added some pretty red heart gems by Queen & Co. to each stamped heart (see above).

The fun heart clip is a great embellishment for my notebook paper.  I backed it with red cardstock so it would stand out and simply hand trimmed the heart.  The Happy Valentine's Day stamp is from the You've Stolen My Heart set that comes with the kit and I inked that up in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Sometimes Clean & Simple is good!  Adding texture with ribbon and embellishments is a great way to make the card interesting but still keeping the CAS look!

Supply List:

Ink - Memento (Love Letter, Tuxedo Black)

Sheena's New Release ~ Under the Sea

Over at Crafter's Companion, there's a new Sheena Douglass release today with two pretty sets ~ Hidden Stars and Underwater Angels.

For my card today, I used some of my Gelato crayons to color a background and then smeared them with a baby wipe.  Then I embossed it with the Water Ripple embossing folder.  After that, I sprayed Summer Sky Fireworks spray over the top for a bit of shimmer.  While that was drying I colored my fish with my Gelato crayons and smeared the color with a baby wipe.  I also stamped and trimmed the seaweed and then lightly added a bit of white pigment ink to both just to tone them down a bit.

For the side embossing, I used the Petite Dots Embossalicious folder added a scalloped edge and then some May Arts ribbon and a button to finish it off.

The Alaska Project: Continued ...

I am super excited today!  This weekend I finished our Alaska scrapbook from our 2011 trip.  I've been working on it off and on since we got home, but took a super long break because I was so busy with design work.   Back in October, I went on a scrapbooking weekend and decided to pull it back out.  I completed lots of pages, but then had to put it away again because of other deadlines, the holidays and CHA projects.  On January 1st, I decided this was going to get done!  So for the last few weeks, I've been working non-stop on the book & 40 pages later, IT IS DONE!!!  If you'd like to see the pages from the first half of our trip, the supplies I've been using and how I've been putting my book together, check out my ALASKA PROJECT category ~ tons of fun information on how I've done my book.

So here we go with part two of our trip... THE CRUISE!

I showed this page a few months ago, but wanted to keep it in line with the rest of this day.

Formal night #1.

So there we go... the first day of our cruise vacation.  Up next... Juneau, Alaska and one of our favorite days of the trip.  YOU WON'T BELIEVE THE PHOTOS!

Sheena: Under the Sea

Good Morning and welcome to the weekend.  Today I made a card using this pretty starfish from a new Sheena collection coming out this week at Crafter's Companion.  There are 2 new Under the Sea sets and this one is called Hidden Stars.

I decided to do a polished stone technique for both the background and the starfish on my card today.

I stated out by stamping my starfish on Crafter's Companion High Gloss cardstock.  I don't have all of the Spectrum Noir refills for the colors I wanted to use, so I just scribbled some ink from the OR3 Spectrum Noir marker on a plastic bag and then rubbed it on the starfish image.  Then I took some of the refills for CR6 and TN3 and added a few drops directly on the image.  The next step was to add some Spectrum Noir blender solution from my refill to a piece of white felt and I rubbed it around the image to blend all of the colors.  My star fish went from this...

to this...

For the background, I cut a card panel of Crafter's Companion High Gloss cardstock to work with.  I added a combination of colors from refills and markers to my white felt applicator from CG4, TB2, TB6, TB7, TB8 and applied it to my High Gloss cardstock.  Then I added some Tim Holtz silver medium in random spots.  I then added blending solution to my felt applicator and smeared it all together so it would look like the starfish was underwater.

TIP:  Make sure you wear and apron and use a mat on your work surface... this technique can be a little messy.

Valentine Subway Art...

Hi Friends... I'm here today with another project using the latest Creative Cafe Kit by The Rubber Cafe.  This kit is called For the Love of Cats & Dogs & it is so darn cute!    For my card today, I decided to use as many of the images in the You've Stolen My Heart and the Add-On set called True Love.

I stamped all of the images and sentiments in Memento Love Letter Red ink and then added a few images stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.  For the "Happy Valentine's Day" and the post mark image, I stamped the colors slightly offset so I could see both colors.  I added the stamped image at a diagonal for more interest and stamped a sentiment on a punched tab at the top.

At the bottom of the card, I added a notebook edge to the black mat and wrapped Black Twine from Queen & Co to hide the edges of the cardstock and give it a finished look.

I know you're going to love this new kit!!!

Supplies:
Creative Cafe Kit ~ For the Love of Cats and Dogs (Cardstock; You've Stolen My Heart stamp set; True Love Add-on Stamp set; Black twine.
Ink ~ Memento (Tuxedo Black; Love Letter)
