"EYE" Love you!

Today on the Hambo Hoedown, we're having fun with EYELETS!  Yes, those long lost embellishments that are stuck in the back of your craft drawers.  The new digi image this week is this adorable One-Eyed Monster and I colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers (see colors below).  To add some visual interest at the top of my card (and to use the challenge embellishment), I set orange and purple eyelets across the top of the green pattern paper.  Super easy and very EYE catching...haha!

Supplies:
Hambo Digi Image ~ One Eyed Monster
Cardstock ~ Bazzill
Pattern Paper ~ Echo Park (Halloween collection)
Spectrum Noir Pens ~ LV2, LV3, OR2, OR3, LG4, LG5, IG1

Fun with some Paper Loft!

Welcome back!  Today I have a few projects to share using some tidbit of this and that that I had left over from a few of my Paper Loft Collections (Shades of Gray & Everyday Life).   I also used a few of the Accessory Sheets from the Everyday Life Collection.  The Life Life Fully stamp is from the Unity Stamp Co SMAK Kit.

Here's a close up of my focal point...my pretty girl.

Fun with a Triple Layer Card...

I'm here today with a tutorial on how to make a Triple Layer Card for The Rubber Cafe & The Paper Craft Planet.   I've seen a few of these on Pinterest and thought it would be fun to make one with one of my favorite TRC images ~ the Extra Large Daisy.

So this is how you make the card.  First cut 3 pieces of light cardstock ~ 2" x 3 1/4"; 3" x 4 1/4"; and 4" x 5 1/4".  Then gather your image(s) and coordinating inks.

Next, using a removable adhesive, attach your layers from largest to smallest.  You want to use a small amount of adhesive to attach them so they don't move while you are stamping.

Next, ink your stamp.  I used 3 orange & gold shades of Memento Dew Drops.  I used Potter's Clay in the center of the Extra Large Daisy image, then Tangelo for the flower and Morroco for the edges of the flower petals.

Stamp the image on the stacked cardstock.

Next I used the background image from the Vintage Treasures stamp set as a background for the card.

When you stamp several layers of cardstock at the same time, there will be a gap in the stamped image.  So you add a coordinating mat under each stamped layer.

I added a tag using the Fabulous Phrases stamp set & tucked it under the matching button and bakers twine.

Supplies:
Stamps ~ The Rubber Cafe (Extra Large Daisy;  Vintage TreasuresFabulous Phrases )
Ink ~ Memento (Morocco; Tangelo; Potter's Clay); Distressed Ink ~ Antique Linen
Cardstock ~ Bazzill
Twine ~ Divine Twine

Finishing up Christmas in July

To finish up the week of Christmas in July with Crafter's Companion, I wanted to share a few cards I made with the new Christmas Elegance Embossalicious Embossing Folder.  It has dots on the top and snowflakes on the bottom ~ two of my very favorite things ... LOVE IT!

For my first card, I embossed the cardstock and then smeared white pigment ink all over the snowflake portion.  Once it was dry, I added gems to the center of each snowflake.  Then I used a sentiment from the new Christmas Magic Sentimentals set.  (By the way, the charm is something I've had in my box of Christmas goodies for a very long time & I'm not sure who made it ~ sorry).

For my second card, I embossed the cardstock with the same Embossalicious folder and then used a sentiment from the Happy Holidays Sentimentals stamp set.  Below are a few photos on how I made this card.

First I embossed the cardstock...here's a photo of the card panel ~ it's so pretty without anything else!

Next, I used a dauber and sponged Front VersaMark Dazzle ink over the bottom of the card.

Then I added clear embossing powder over the ink and heat embossed it.  It comes out super shiney.

Then I dressed up the sentiment with some pretty snowflake swirls from the Ornate Snowflakes stamp set and Summer Sky Memento Ink.

That's it...pretty easy card.

Color Blocked Snowflakes

Today my Christmas in July card for the Crafter's Companion is a super fun and simple design that I may just have to mass produce for my card this year ... if I can remember to use it!  I used two different Sheena sets ~ Ivy Borders (for the sentiment) & Ornate Snowflakes for the rest.  I just used 3 different colors of cardstock and attached them to a piece of cardstock.  TIP: Make sure they are exactly the same size before you stamp them.   Then I stamped various sizes of snowflakes with white pigment ink.  The sentiment is stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink & I also used the same ink on the edges of the card and mat.

Hi Peeps!  Welcome back to another edition of Christmas in July for Crafter's Companion.

Today I'm using two fun Embossalicious Embossing Folders ~ Christmas Baubles for the focal point of the card and Let It Snow for the white portion of the card.  For the sentiment, I used the Mistletoe Kisses Sentimentals stamp set and added a little touch red using my Spectrum Noir marker (CR11).

Here's the inside of my card.  I used the Embossalicious Embossing Folders ~Let It Snow along with a sentiment from the Christmas Magic Sentimentals Stamp Set.

Christmas in July Day #2 ~ Gift Tags

Hi Friends...I realize that Christmas is still several months away {I refuse to count, because the number will be way too low}...but this week Crafter's Companion is gearing up for the holiday season with Christmas in July.  Today I'm featuring images from the newly released Barkley Christmas CD ROM.    There are hundreds of images to print out on this CD & it was fun searching around to find the ones I wanted.  All of the images I selected to print were included in the Topper files.  When I found the full page of small square images, I knew I wanted to make gift tags out of them and then each card has a little pocket to hold them.

I printed the images on a 65 lb Linen Cover Stock that I found at my office supply store.  It is light weight but has a pretty texture.

I also included a few sentiments from Barkley's Christmas stamps on my tag holders. The "snowflakes" around the edges of the tag holders are from the Ornate Accessories stamp set & I used the Petite Dots Embossilicious Embossing Folder on each item as well.

Here are all four tag holders.

Hi friends!  I'm here today with a card to share with you that makes me think of being in paradise.

I started off with a kraft card base and stamped the Tree Silhouette image around the edges using Antique Linen Distressed Ink for a tone on tone look.  Then on the card panel, I stamped the lined image from the Background Basics 2 stamp set in a criss cross pattern as the background in Distressed ink.  The main image is the Large Palms and I inked it using my Rich Cocoa & Bamboo Leaves Memento Ink.  And then added a sentiment from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set in Rich Cocoa Ink.

The final touches on the card are a green cardstock layer, a pattern paper scalloped border and then I wrapped the panel with twine and added a button.  I popped up the card panel with Kool Tac Foam Dots.

My Girl...

Today I have a special page to share for The Paper Loft's monthly sketch challenge and the weekly Scrappy Sunday Challenge for The Paper Craft Planet.  I even managed to use some Crafter's Companion stamps on my page ~ woohooo, it's a Triple Threat today for design team work ~ that never happens!

My daughter and her sweet dog Jazmine (or Jazz) have a very special bond ~ I love watching them together & was thrilled when I was able to get a few shots of them out in the yard this past spring.  For my page, I used pattern paper, letter stickers and the verse block from The Paper Loft's Everyday Life Collection.   The subtle burlap texture around the kraft edge of the page is stamped using the Ageing Beautifully stamp set & the white flourish is from the Flying Colors set ~ both by Crafter's Companion.  For a final touch I added a few burlap flowers from Little Yellow Bicycle.

Here's a close up of my focal point ~ my pretty girl.

Here's the Paper Loft sketch I used ~ but I flipped it.  Play along and you could be our guest designer for September!  Also play along at the same time on the Scrappy Sunday Challenge for The Paper Craft Planet.

Hope you can play along on the challenges this week.

Meet Barkley!

It's a Happy Saturday because Crafter's Companion is sneak peeking a new collection & this little guy's name is Barkley!   The stamp collection has six all-occasion sets & six fun Christmas sets and all of them are OVER-THE-TOP adorable!  Then as an added bonus, there is a CD ROM available with even more awesome images ~ I used one of them on my card today.

Th sweet image on my card today is from the CD ROM in the Easel Card collection of files.  I printed it out on some linen textured 65 lb cover stock then simply trimmed it out. I put it on a mat, added some ribbon and popped it on the card base.  Then I used one of the sentiments from one of the Barkley stamp sets.  It really doesn't get easier than that!

The new Barkley Collection will be available this coming Wednesday, July 17th, but you can check out the Crafter's Companion Blog for lots of inspiration from the design team.

Loving you 24/7

Ahhhh...my love.  Yup, that's my sweetie of over 31 years (24 yrs married).  We started dating in high school and we never looked back.  I love this relaxed face on my hubby...I call it "Tim in Vacation Mode".  These pictures were taken in April on our Spring Break Cruise Vacation in New Orleans & the Western Caribbean.

So for my page, I used the Everyday Life collection from Paper Loft.  I made faux Washi tape & punched hearts from several of the pattern papers in the collection.  The word blocks are from the Good Times & Happy Accessory Sheets.  The stamps I used around the page are from Technique Tuesday (Simply You).

New Monthly Crafter's Companion Challenge

It's time for a new Monthly Challenge for the Crafter's Companion & this month we are using DIE CUTS!  I don't think I make that many cards without some sort of die cut image, so this one was pretty easy.

I decided to use a standard circle die cut as a window for my flowers. My blue flowers are from Sheena's Butterfly Paint Fusion stamp set.  I stamped them with Memento Teal Zeal ink on blue cardstock and cut them out then added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the center of each flower.  The leaves are from a leaf die cut & then I stamped a leaf image from the Flower Power stamps set using Bamboo Leaves Memento Ink.

Inside the window, I added a lighter color cardstock and stamps the Travel Script background from Stamp-It Australia collection with Antique Linen Distressed Ink.  On the Kraft cardstock panel, I stamped the floral, bee and words from the Butterfly Paint Fusion stamp set using Desert Sand Memento Ink.  I added a sentiment using the  Flowing Happy Birthday from Stamp-It Australia collection using  Memento Teal Zeal ink.

Supplies:
Stamps: Sheena Sets: Paint Fusion (Butterfly set); Silhouette Grasses; Flower Power.
Stamp-It Aus Sets: Flowing Happy Birthday; Travel Script
Standard Circle Die Cut; Leaf die cut from Die'sire (UK)
Spectrum Noir: TB1
Memento: Teal Zeal; Bamboo Leaves; Desert SandFrosted Lace Stickles
