Holy Cannoli ~ it's time for Scrappy Sunday!

Are you asking..."What is Scrappy Sunday?"  Well over on The Paper Craft Planet, the Sunday challenge is called Scrappy Sunday & today it is my turn to host.  The challenge this week is called "A Play on Words" & your challenge is to use words on your page (other than journaling).

For my yummy page, I used photos from our trip to Italy last year where we ate the most amazing cannoli on the planet!  I used a fun collection from The Paper Loft called In the Zone pattern papers and accessory sheets.  There are SIX fantastic Accessory Sheets in this collection and I used the Authentic &  Happy sheets for the word tiles on my page.

I'd love for you to play along on the challenge ~ just upload your "Play on Words" Layout to the PCP Gallery and don't forget to tag your creation ScrappySunday.

just saying "hi"

Hi Everyone!  I'm here today to share a fun card using a sweet little image from the Flowers & Bouquets stamp set.  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it with markers.  I also colored the chipboard letters to match the ribbon and flowers.  Once the heart flowers were colored, I added some Glossy Accents to make them pop and shimmer!

Avery Elle's June Challenge

With the month drawing to a close, I wanted to play along on the Avery Elle Challenge while I still could.  I ordered some fun new stamps and dies from them at the beginning of June, but found time to cracked them open just a few days ago.

The challenge this month is a sketch by designer Nina Yang {see below}.  The set and matching dies I used for my card are the Oh Yeah Clear Stamps & Dies. I love how the card turned out...so simple but super fun!

I took this photo because the sketch calls for circles {or other shapes} in the background.  Unfortunately, my photo above doesn't really capture the embossed circles, but they are fabulous in real life and this photo shows them a bit better.

Here's the sketch...

... and here is a view of the fun word bubbles all popped up.

Just a few more days to play along on this challenge ~ so get busy.

Supplies:
Stamps ~ Avery Elle (Oh Yeah Clear Stamps)

Word Bubble Dies ~ Avery Elle (Oh Yeah Ella-ments)
Cardstock ~ Bazzill
Pattern Paper ~ Pebbles Inc (Seen & Noted)

Ink ~ Memento (Tuxedo Black)
Twine ~ The Twinery

Ephasus Highlighted with Paper Loft

Hi Friends... Today's quick and simple page uses a fun collection from The Paper Loft called Funkysaurus to highlight the gorgeous photos I took in Turkey last summer.   I used 3 of the patterned papers in the collection and the alphabet letters on the Alphabet and Color Alphabet Accessory Sheets.

Time for a Hoedown!

Ahoy!  Hope you're ready for a fun new Hambo Hoedown Challenge!  Today we have this super cute new Pirate image and the Hoedown challenge is to use a map on the project.  I decided to trim out a circle using two die cuts from some map pattern paper to highlight my pirate.  Then I punched out some stars from the same pattern paper.   The top and bottom pattern paper trim are from the same My Minds Eye Traveler collection and my image is colored with my Spectrum Noir Pens (CR11, EB1, EB2, EB3, TN2, GB7, TB3, IG6, IG9).

Play along on the challenge and you can get next week's super cute digital image.  Take a peek on the Hambo Hoedown Blog for all the details.

Birthday Daisies from The Rubber Cafe

Hi Friends ~ I have to say...I'm wild about this card!  It made me smile when I finished it.

I started out with the Extra Large Daisy image and inked the center with my Rich Cocoa Memento Dew Drop ink.  Then I added Dandelion yellow ink to the flower petals and then added Peanut Brittle (mustard color) ink to the edges of petals & stamped it on the rustic cream cardstock.  I repeated the same method of inking on the Large Daisy and then again with the Medium Daisy.  I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Fabulous Phrases set & then stamped a background from the Vintage Treasures set in Antique Linen Distressed Ink for a very subtle aged look on the rustic cream cardstock.  The final stamped detail are the large polka-dots on the yellow cardstock.  I used the image from the Background Basics 2 stamp set & inked them in Dandelion ink.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: The Rubber Cafe (Medium, Large & Extra Large Daisy; Vintage Treasures; Background Basics 2; Fabulous Phrases)

Ink: Memento & Ranger Distressed Ink
Cardstock: Bazzill

Ribbon/Twine: May Arts

Clean and Simple Wishes...

Today's card didn't totally come out the way I thought, but I like the clean and simple look I achieved & I adore this color combination of kraft, brown and yellow.   I started with the little burlap square from the Ageing Beautifully set with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.  I stamped the flowers on off white cardstock in Dandelion Memento Ink using the small solid flowers in the Flower Power stamp set.  The final touch is the Wonderful Wishes sentiment from the Sentiment Swirls set.

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge

Every month, Crafter's Companion comes out with a new challenge on the Challenge Blog.  If you play along and link your project, you could win a fabulous gift certificate.  This month the theme is summer, which in all honesty, is a total breeze because the flowers are everywhere & it's green outside!  YIPEE!!!  So that's the theme I went with...flowers & green!  First I stamped the background using the Travel Script in Toffee Crunch Memento Dew Drops.  Then I added the main image, using the flowers from the Silhouette Grasses stamp set.  And the last stamp was the sentiment from Flowing Happy Birthday stamped in Rich Cocoa.

The pattern paper is from Cosmo Cricket (Odds & Ends Collection) and the fabulous trims & twine are all from May Arts.

Me + Hambo = Hoedown

Not gonna lie...I'm super happy with how this card turned out!  I had so much fun with the Hambo Hoedown  Challenge this week.  So the challenge with this image is to use numbers on your card.  I had this fabulous paper from Studio Calico (Here & There Collection) and thought of it instantly when this image arrived in my inbox.  The cute little sentiment I used (which comes with the digi image), is what prompted the punched out hearts inside the calculator screen.

Now it's your turn to play along!  Head on over and check out the details!

Supplies:
Digital Image ~ Hambo Stamps

Yes, I have another Christmas card to show you today...but this one could also be considered a baby card.  Today Crafter's Companion is releasing the new line in Sheena's A Little Bit Festive Collection.  This image is from the Heartfelt Wishes stamp set and the sentiment I printed off my computer because I just couldn't stop thinking about this little chick being used on a baby card.

I also used the super fabulous Lattice Embossalicious Embossing folder & the Petite Dots Embossalicious Folder for my backgrounds on the card.  I used Spectrum Noir pens to color the image (CT2, CT4, TB2, TB4).

A perfect match...

My kids just adore their G-Ma and G-Pa & I couldn't resist snapping this photo of my son with G-Ma last summer on vacation.  It was pretty early in the morning and we were waiting to get into the Vatican for our tour.

My page uses the Everyday Life Collection from The Paper Loft and I really love the simplicity of the page.   I just used a few small scraps from 4 different patterns in the collection pack and then used some of the distressed cardstock pack for the flower stem die cuts & the big THANKFUL (which I used my Base Camp cartridge on my Cricut).    For the smaller letters, I used the Alphabet Stickers which comes in the collection pack or they are sold separately.

Be thankful today!

Hambo Stamps ~ New Release

WOOHOO!  NEW RUBBAH IN DA HOUSE! And you will LOVE the fun new designs from Hambo Stamps! Head over to the website to see the NEW ARRIVALS HERE -- both red rubber and clear stamp sets that you won't want to miss!

This cute stamp is called Big Giraffe (5116) and the sentiment is called Your Neck (5109).  I used some fun paper from my stash by My Mind's Eye called Alphabet Soup & then colored the giraffe with my Spectrum Noir pens (GB2, GB5, GB7, EB4).

A little tip ~ don't have the right color cardstock to match what you're making?  Just use white and color it with your Spectrum Noir pens.  I colored the sentiment and edged the mustard color around the border because I ran out of the cardstock I was looking for.

Heart"felt" Wishes...

Today I have a Christmas card to show you...I know...I'm not ready for that either so don't throw anything at me.  However, in the crafting world, we have to start early!

Crafter's Companion is releasing a new line in Sheena's A Little Bit Festive Collection.  I used the Heartfelt Wishes stamp set for my card and a sentiment from Christmas Cocoa for the tag on the gingerbread.    I also used the super fabulous Chevrons Embossalicious Embossing folder & a little tiny scallop border with the Petite Dots Embossalicious Folder for my backgrounds on the card.  I used Spectrum Noir pens to color the image (TN5, CR11).

{Because someone will ask, I had these gingerbread cookies in my freezer from last Christmas}

Have a great day!

Embossed Flowers...

Today it's time to have some fun with one of my favorite products... EMBOSSING FOLDERS from Crafter's Companion.  They have awesome Embossalicious Folders in 6"x 6" and also 8" x 8" ~ which are fabulous because you can cover an entire card front if you want.

The folder I used for my card today is called Flower Frenzy ~ it's one of my favorites & I tend to pull it out a  lot.  I kept the card clean & simple because I wanted to highlight the embossing.  The sentiment is stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento ink from Sentiment Swirls stamp set and the trim is from May Arts.

Have a great Monday!

Those Moments When ...we are TOGETHER!

Hi Friends...today I'm here with a scrapbook layout to share for using three great sets from The Rubber Cafe ~ Pictures Framed; Remember the Moments; and, Don't Be Wishy Washi.   All three sets are perfect for pages.  I also added some pattern paper, sticker embellishments and alphabet stickers from Simple Stories 24/7 Collection.  Below are some of the details on how I put my page together.

I used the solid photo frame image from the Pictures Framed stamp set and stamped it in 6 different ink colors.  Then I printed and trimmed four photos so they would fit inside the photo frame (2" square).  I also stamped a border around the entire page says, "Those Moments When..." using the sentiment from the Remember the Moments stamps set & Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.  I also repeated the sentiment in the title which I stamped on the Washi tape that I made as well.  The rest of the title are stickers from the 24/7 Collection.

I wanted my layout to resemble a bulletin board, so each photo frame is "held up" with a piece of Washi tape.  I stamped them using the Don't Be Wishy Washi stamp set in the same colors as the photo frames.   Then I trimmed them with my pinking sheers for the zig zag pattern.   I also stamped some of the words from the sets at the bottom of the photo frames and added a sticker or two from the Simple Stories 24/7 Collection.

I also stamped some of the words from the sets at the bottom of the photo frames and added a sticker or two & some pattern paper from the Simple Stories 24/7 Collection.

Hope you enjoyed the page ~ see you next time with another fun TRC project.

Hambo Hoedown ... once again!

It's Hoedown time again.  Today starts a new term with the Hambo Stamps team and I'm thrilled to say that I've been asked back for another term on the Design Team.

This week the super cute digi image is called Bat Boy & it's perfectly timed for the summer baseball season!  The additional challenge for this week, is to use a banner or pennant on your card.  I used a few banners down at the bottom for my sentiment.

It's time to meet the new team ~ take a little hop around the web to see what everyone came up with today:

New from Crafter's Companion ~ Edwardian Lady Collection

Crafter's Companion has a beautiful new collection available today on a 2 disk CD ROM called the Edwardian Lady Collection.  There are lots and lots of images, elements, pattern papers (and so much more) on this disk and they are incredibly EASY TO USE!  Here are just three quick cards I came up with using the new disk...

I printed these images from the Punchables files & also the Co-ordinating Papers files from the CD ROM.  I wanted my images to have some texture, so I printed them on 65 lb Linen Cover Stock that I found at my local office supply store.  A few quick elements of May Arts silk ribbon, along with a pretty yellow button with twine complete this very quick card.

For this card, I added a sentiment from Sentiment Swirls stamp set & some added May Arts trim.

To add some texture to the background, I used the Wire Fence Embossing Folder

You can find more cards in the Gallery for this collection.

Colorful Butterfly Tutorial

It's another new week ...and they all seem to be going so quickly!  Today is also my 24th wedding anniversary, so a big shout out to my sweet hubby!

Today I'm not only sharing this tutorial for Crafter's Companion, but I am also announcing that I have been asked to be a Supernova on the Paper Craft Planet Design team.  SO....I'm sharing this tutorial on their website as well!

The cards I want to show you today, highlight this gorgeous butterfly from the Flying Colors stamp set along with a few sentiments using the From the Heart set.

First I put the ginormous butterfly on my great Rock A Blocks.  These are especially wonderful for large images.   Then using my Memento Dew Drops, I inked my image.  I started with the Bahama Blue in the center of the Butterfly, then slightly overlapped the ink colors with the Pear Tart working outward, and then slightly overlapped again with the Cantaloupe along the outside edges of the butterfly.  I used Tuxedo Black for the sentiments.

Once you've inked the butterfly, blot the ink pad on scratch paper to remove the darker ink from the pad.

To use the Rock A Blocks, flip the block over and gently rock the image on the block from front to back ~ easy peasy!

The finished butterfly

Here you can see the slight slope of the block.

Easy Peasy ~ that's all there is to it!

Gift Bags for All Occasions

With June here now, we have lots and lots of special occasions coming up this month & now I have some gift bags all ready for any special event!  I found these fun bags at Hobby Lobby and then used this great Avery Elle Stamp set called Framed Fonts.  The pigment ink is from Clear Snap & I heat embossed each sentiment in the ink color to match the bag.

Have a great weekend!
