OCL Challenge #85

Welcome to a lovely fall Friday ~ at least I hope it's lovely!  I am so tired of rain and looking forward to some sunshine this weekend.  At least the weatherman says it will ~ we'll see if he is right.

Today I have a new OCL Challenge for you ~ I'll call this one a Theme Challenge.  Today it's all about FALL!  I love the colors, smells and tastes of fall.  Here are some pretty pictures to inspire you {three of them I took myself}...

And here is my project for today.  I used the OCL single Simply Fall and some sentiments from the Fall Scarecrow single.  I also used a background stamp from the Vintage Swirls set on the little paper bag.

These are the full little pull out cards where I included the sentiments from the sets.

I simply used a big scallop oval shape as the pull tab for the card.

Now it's your turn ~ create some great fall projects and share them on the OCL Blog Challenge thread this week!  Can't wait to see what you make.

Happiness is...

Happiness is...
a simple little card that turns out pretty.

I used an image from the Zenspirations line by Gourmet Rubber Stamps called Let Happiness Blossom.  I love these sweet little sentiments ~ they are so quick and easy to use too!

Sending Monster Hugs!

How would you like to get a hug from this big guy?  He's so funny!  This is the super scary cute monster from the new OCL set called Monster Hugs

I used some Punk Purple Sparkly Fluff on his tummy & spots and then used this great Halloween paper from Echo Park which gives it a great Halloween look.  I love the fact that this set can be for Halloween, Birthday or just to send a hug.

Marching Season...

As I've mentioned a few times, I'm a Band Mom now!  I had no idea when this season started, how much fun it was going to be ~ and how crazy, busy it is.  These kids work so hard and they are so talented.  I thought today I would share a few pictures of my sweetie hard at work.

Time for a Dog Walk...{Blog Hop} & a new Sketch!

IT'S FRIDAY ~ and I have a special treat for you today!  My sweet friend Wendy & her fun little puppy Gilby are hosting a Dog Walk {blog hop} with lots of fabulous puppy treats {blog candy prizes} to celebrate her new and improved blog.   Wendy has lots of friends & their furry pals joining in today.  Here are some pictures of my sweet furry pals ~ Jazmine (our Golden) and Peco (our little terrier shelter rescue ~ btw, she came with the silly name).

So the theme of the day is MAKEOVER ~ since Wendy's blog has had a face lift.  For my "makeover" project, I used an image from the Zenspirations line by Gourmet Rubber Stamps.  The first time I made the image for this card, I colored the vases but I didn't think it packed enough PUNCH!  So I decided to use some of this pretty pattern paper from My Minds Eye and paper piece them.  I also added some gems to the flowers and that really stepped up the card.  It's amazing how just a few little details can make a difference.

I pulled double duty on my card today {gotta love that}~ and this is also the very first installment of the Weekly Recipe sketch challenge for Gourmet Rubber Stamps

Before...

After...

You can find a list of all the players on the Dog Walk {blog hop} below and over on Wendy's new blog ~ you won't want to miss out because there are some FABULOUS puppy treats {blog candy} by some amazing sponsors ~ a special thanks to the sponsors for all the fun treats!

So....it's time to leave some love on all the blogs!  You can leave comments on this post now until Sunday, September 25th at 10:30pm (ET).  Wendy will be randomly picking winners from all of our blog comments.

Puppy Hugs to you today!

Stamp Free Birthday Card

Some days it's all about the quick and easy card ~ are ya with me?  A week or so ago, I sat down and whipped out 7 or 8 cards using this fun Happy Days kit by Echo Park.  So EASY PEASY to use and no stamping.  The fun part about these kits is that you can mix and match the kits and everything just goes together.  It's like MAGIC!

Get to work & share you Easy Peasy cards with me!  I'm always looking for some fun layouts.

Whooooo's there...

Just popping in to share another creation with my new Tart & Spice Diners Club set from Gourmet Rubber Stamps.   The owl and sentiment are from the set & the pattern paper and big tree sticker are from the Basic Grey kit called Picadilly.  I thought that tree was perfect for the owls to sit on.

Have a happy Wednesday & thanks for buzzing by today!

IHP Challenge Day... everything NEW!

Every six month or so, the NEW section at the i{heart}paper website is stocked full of brand new amazing products from CHA.  Just like you, I love it when CHA products hit the store because that means it's time to SHOP and stock up on all the goodies.    For our design team challenge this month, it's all about using some of these great new products that Kate and the team picked out at the Chicago show.

I decided to use a pretty new stamp single from Our Craft Lounge called Vintage Wine for my wine ensemble.  This lovely hand-drawn single is so easy to color with Copics and looks beautiful with the new My Minds Eye paper called A Beautiful Life (one of 12 new 6x6 paper pads that came out).

A birthday card for the ensemble

And the inside of the birthday card to finish the clever little sentiment...

It was fun putting a few decorative touches on the wine glasses to match the tag & card.
I used my Eyelet Circle Nestabilities & the same My Minds Eye paper for these elements.

On the inside of the card and tag, I used a VersaMark ink pad to add a background.  The pretty stamp is a new set from Hero Arts called Indie Blooms Wildflowers & Butterflies.

The rest of the girls on the Design Team have been busy working on some fabulous projects & I know you'll want to take a look.  Don't forget to leave some love for everyone.

Supplies from i{heart}papers:
Stamps: Our Craft Lounge (
Vintage Wine); Hero Arts (Indie Blooms Wildflowers & Butterflies)

the day the world changed...

10 years...

it still feels like yesterday...

i made these pages shortly after 9.11.01
i wanted to share them with my small children someday...

the words are still so true...

the world will never be the same...

we will never forget that day...
what we were doing...
or how we felt when we saw those great towers fall...

OCL Challenge #82

Here we go again with another weekly challenge from Our Craft Lounge.  This week we are playing with a photo of a very important time of year ~ BACK TO SCHOOL TIME!   Use anything in the photo that inspires you.

I love making back-to-school projects and wanted to pull out two older sets from OCL ~ School Notes & Bookworm.  Both are simply perfect for this time of year.   I was inspired by the row of crayons on the card ~ so I used the pencil form the School Notes set along the bottom of my card.  I stamped white pigment ink on this super cool black Chalkstock Tile that has the texture of a chalkboard!

So go have fun with the photo inspiration ~ but don't worry about doing a back-to-school theme.  You could do lots of different things with this picture!  Make sure you put your link on the OCL Blog for a chance to win a gift certificate to Our Craft Lounge.
