Happy Halloween!

I just wanted to share a few pictures of my little goblins. We always have so much fun in our neighborhood at Halloween. We live in a very small but wonderful subdivision. A few of the families plan a Sloppy-Joe dinner and then all the kids go Trick-or-Treating together. It's a blast!
I hope you had fun with your little ghosts and goblins too!
Happy Halloween!

It's a PINK Christmas with Hanna...

I promised another little peek of the new Tis The Season set from Hanna Stamps. I just love using non-traditional colors for Christmas cards ~ it mixes things up a bit! There are two little ornaments on strings, two little snowflakes that I used on the bottom of the card, and a swirls and stars stamp that I used above the ornaments. This set has some wonderful backgrounds as well as the main images.

A Project for Work...

Well I have every Friday off work (and Monday too), so yesterday I was planning on stamping all day to relax and enjoy my day. I still enjoyed my day, but rather than stamp, I made a project for work. I just LOVE being able to bring my passion for crafting to work!

As many of you know, I work in the Children's Ministry department for our church. My friend Michelle is the director and she has been wanting to do a workshop so that parents have a resource for helping their children learn Bible verses. Of course, this is right up my ally, so I asked if I could come up with the prototype and do the workshop. She said "Yes" so yesterday, I came up with this fun project. Michelle had all the verses written up, so I just came up with the book style and then re-typed the verses. I am pretty happy with the end result. We will be holding this workshop in Novemeber so they can be used as Christmas gifts.

Supplies Used: Cardstock ~ Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Rose Red, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue; Pattern Paper ~ Stampin' Up! Cutie Pie Designer Series Paper; Die Cut Letter and Shapes ~ Cricut Cartridges Alphalicious, Doodle Charms; Coil Machine ~ Rubi Coil.

A Day to Experiment...

I had a few minutes today to play with my Lizzie Anne stamps. I made the card bases first and then decided what stamped images to attach. I usually don't work this way, but I wanted to see how fast I could get some simple cards made. I have to say that even though these aren't my favorite cards, they were pretty quick (less than 1 hour) & I do love the stamps. On occasion you just have to go outside your comfort zone and try something new. Sometimes you like it & sometimes you don't, but at least you tried.

By the way, if you haven't ordered from the Lizzie Anne Designs website, October is a great time to do it because they are offering free shipping for orders over $35 this month. Check out this link on the Splitcoast Stampers Lizzie Anne Forum for more details. And make sure you sign up for their monthly newsletter so you know what's going on over at LAD!

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Lizzie Anne Designs (Daisy Dot, Sketch Sentiments); Cardstock & Ink ~ SU Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery and Ruby Red; Pattern Paper ~ MOD Collection from Autumn Leaves; Ribbon ~ SU; Baubles ~ Bella.

Well another busy week is done, but I did manage to get this card made. I've had this Mod pattern paper (from Autumn Leaves) for a long time & finally cut into it. The flowers on Hanna's dress, hair and bags are rub-ons from the same paper line. I just love this color combination of Groovy Guava and Wild Wasabi from Stampin' Up! I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!

World Card Making Day & Another Annoucement...

I am THRILLED to announce that I have been asked (and accepted) a position on the Lizzie Anne Design Team. This team is amazing! I am so giddy to be able to work with and call friend so many wonderful ladies in this industry.
Did you know that today is World Card Making Day? Lizzie Anne Designs is one of the Official Sponsors ~ so go check out the information on their website about the specials they are offering. They have a brand new set on sale today along with 4 other coordinating sets. They are also having a card contest where there will be lots of winners. All the cards from the Contest will be donated to Cards for Cancer ~ which is a great cause. Have a great day ladies & GO STAMP!

That was fun...

Between the stamp set release, the blog candy and stamping all day long ~ yesterday was a fun day for me! I started this card earlier in the week but couldn't find the time to finish it up until yesterday. I kept adding elements and finally told myself to STOP! I just can't seem to get enough of Hanna this week. I hope you have loads of fun with her too. Oh, and don't worry, Hanna will be back every month doing lots and lots of fun things.

Don't forget about the blog candy on my other thread. You have until Sunday at midnight ~ please post to my Friday 10/5/07 thread to enter.

Tip of the day: It's is super easy to use pattern paper to make Hanna's dress and purse. Stamp the entire image on white cardstock, then stamp it again on pattern paper and cut it out. Adhered the image you cut out over the image you stamped on the white cardstock and VOILA ~ Hanna has a pretty dress & a striped purse. BTW ~ The idea for the monogramed purse, I CASE'd from one of the Hanna Stamps Design Team members Ashley Bowen ~ what a fun way to personalize a card!

Supplies Used:Stamps ~ Hanna Stamps (But I need it...); Cardstock ~ Bazzill textrued; Pattern Paper & Chipboard Flowers ~ Sweetwater; Coloring Tools ~ Markers, Watercolor Wonder Crayons (SU), aquapainter; Accessories ~ brads (SU), Ric-Rac ~ Walmart, sewing machine; Corner Punch ~ SU.

Hanna Stamps Incentive Program...

Can you say WOW!!! This is straight off Kristi Ferro's blog:

Hanna Stamps! will be offering a HUGE incentive program that encourages you to start making items and sending them in for publication.

We are offering $100 for each and every publication made with Hanna Stamps! and also mentions our company name with it. Yes that is correct!! Example: If you get 5 cards published using our stamps, and the publication mentions our stamps were used to create your item, then you get $500 cold hard cash baby!!!

This is open to everyone and anyone, not just my design team. So please, start making those cards, scrapbook pages, 3-D items, and send them out. They do not have to be elaborate items. How many times have you seen magazines with cards and say to your self..."Oh man, I could have made that!!" Now is the perfect time to get going. There is no tricks or no hidden clause. It is as simple as it sounds. You get published in a national magazine with our stamps, the article says you used our stamps...and BOOM...$100. NO it is not a gift certificate either. COLD HARD CASH!!, well ok a cold hard check.

So order those stamps on Friday & get stamping! OH...and it gets even better ~ Kristi is offering FREE SHIPPING on your order of Hanna Stamps during the month of October!

Yes, It's October...

I'm sure many of you know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I know that I am one of the many who have been directly impacted by this type of cancer. I was diagnosed just a few weeks before my 40th birthday. There are no words to describe being told you have cancer. I have been very fortunate that my cancer was found early and at this point, almost 2 years later, it is gone. I pray it's gone for good, but only time will tell.

I have to tell you that October is a difficult month for me. Seeing pink ribbons all over the place is a constant reminder of my internal battle. I know a lot of good comes out of these pink ribbons, but as a survivor, it's has a little different spin.

Now I need to urge all of you ladies to do the following:
  1. Keep up with your yearly doctor's appointment;
  2. get a yearly mammogram (remember I wasn't even 40 when I was diagnosed!);
  3. do your monthly self-exams (that's how I found mine) ~ look for changes not just lumps and bumps; and
  4. if you notice ANYTHING, go get it checked out (don't just think it's going to go away ~ the sooner something is caught, the better!).

You can support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with your own badge or banner. Visit the Pink For October site & choose your favorite.

OK...here's the rest of the card!

Woohooo! Here's the rest of my first card & more of the EXCITING news! The stamps are by a brand new company called Hanna Stamps. The new company is set to launch on October 5th!! The owner of this company is Kristi Ferro. This is a little bit of the first set that will be available for purchase on October 5th at http://www.hannastamps.com/. The website is still being worked on so the link may not work just yet. I am thrilled to have been asked to be on this design team & wait until you see all the talented people on this team ~ WOW! Enjoy this tid-bit, more will be coming soon!
